How does the curriculum of MIT ensure best practice of industry?

“Inculcating with diverse practical learnings”

We seek to achieve our educational goals by focusing on thinking skills, webinars, field experience bringing theory and practice together, and providing library resources to support academic goals. Integrating technological development across the curriculum helps students understand better and more dynamically. At MIT, we bridge the gap between the theoretical and practical knowledge of the students so that they are industry ready by conducting regular seminars, workshops and personality development sessions.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the students are?

“Making them self-dependent and developed professionally”

As the HOD of the Management Department, my responsibilities are to cater the needs of the ongoing industry and make students ready for the opportunities and challenges along the path. To aid the students excel in their fields and become successful individuals who are financially independent in this competitive world is my prime role towards them. Having satisfied students itself will help us achieve institutional goals as an institute. Also, providing and maintaining our quality in academics by facilitating learning and holistic development for students.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Poor practical focus and regular upgradation”

Higher Education should be much more practical, which I think is not very true for the current scenario. Even for MBAs, we are focusing much more on existing things, learning them as it is, without giving a thought to how that can be relevant even today in much better ways. So, in my opinion, the biggest challenge is to know the existing things and to learn their implications for the current scenario.

What are the opportunities available for the growth of students?

“Training under various activities”

Internships and seminars are the best way to put classroom knowledge to practice. Through regular training, workshops and pool placement drives, we help students gain experience, learn new skills and add value to their resumes. These activities help students to apply their knowledge on the tasks which are actually happening in the industry in today’s scenario.

How has your vision for the institute evolved over time?

“Continuous development of self and all”

Walking into MIT ten years back was with a vision to self-improvement, growth in academics and giving back to students all that I had gained in years of experience. I am proud to say that I lived up to my own vision and goals of fostering students, nurturing them with my academic core strength and imbibing moral values in them. I aspire to repeatedly showcase and prove excellence in whichever task I am assigned as part of my institute.

What do you see as MIT's greatest strength?

“Advancing a team for women education, empowerment and growth”

MIT’s core strength has always been working for girl power. Women empowerment, opportunities to students with different backgrounds, and senior staff and faculty members have stood by the institute at all times. MIT is an Institute for Women; we are educating a complete family by focusing on Women’s Education. We work our USP of being a girls institute and having the vision to see each girl student empowered, independent and nurture them with talent, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Any suggestions for the current youth and aspiring students?

“Concentration and focus is important in all sorts of life”

I believe the youth of tomorrow is the backbone of all institutes and families in the times to come. Be focused, patient with your career options and choose your decisions wisely on the academic and personal front. Education is not about routine tasks and learning, it is about enhancing skills to face the future confidently.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your institute?

“Creating a common objective for all”

Having a core team, common institution goals, focussed individual goals and like-minded people all specialists in their fields yet at the same wavelength for organization goals is the foundation for a healthy environment at MIT. One may not be able to help each and every employee, but creating a comfort zone for them will definitely make them satisfied and would create a positive and healthy work environment.
