Dr. Santosh Sharma is an assistant professor at Dr. K N Modi University, Rajasthan. She is the Head of Department (HOD) of Law at the University. She has completed her LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. She has to her credit four published dissertations at a National level. With the hold of work experience for 11 years in her field, she stands as a great motivation for her students. She has participated in various seminars and conferences to understand the need for skills in their profession. 


How do you strategize about the key programs and plan for the marketing and administration of your school?

“Overall Improvement of the University”

 We focus on adapting more innovative ideas and bring in new changes and improvements for the betterment of the University. We try to enhance the faculty for the student’s studies. The connections towards a better understanding of academic concepts are crucial for the growth of students. Aware the students to participate in legal programs. 


What was your vision for the university? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision is you?

“Certainly acquired more of what I expected”

When I first came, I tended it. I had heard about it very well and I wanted to be a part of such an institution. After I came here, I saw many great programs here and I got to learn a lot by beginning a part of them. With time, development is going on here in all the areas of every department and will continue even further.


How does the law program ensure a practical approach when it is being taught?

“Law creates perspective”

Law is a subject which is directly related to our society and country and International countries. When you read about the law, you learn something new from all the events around you. The law does not remain the same all the time; it varies from time to time according to the ways of society. Law students have to read their perspective because of the time ahead.

You can advise on various legal matters furthermore your legal advice could also be used in NGOs. These provide their clients with legal advisory services other than becoming a lawyer there are also various fields like media and law, academia, commerce and industry, social work, politics, and many more.


What do you think about your role and responsibilities to the university and the students are?

“The Roles of a professor includes the responsibility of every student”

  1. My role and responsibility as a professor are to prepare course material, syllabus, seminar, homework, assignments, and handouts. 
  2. The evaluation of classwork, assignments, paper, and oral presentation is also a responsibility I need to fulfill.
  3. Compile, administer, and grade examination or assign this work to others.
  4. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  5. Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, participating in professional conferences.
  6. Commence legal awareness programs; take the students to the educational visit.

What approach do you have for placement of the students pursuing a law program from your university?

“The placement cell associates with various firms to maintain recruitments”

 There is a placement opportunity for the students who completed their law degree. They can work as an assistant professor in our university and can get the experience. They can also work as a legal advisor in the companies, and can also practice legal practice in the courts. With the collaborating firms for interning lawyers are associated with the University. The students studying law never go lacking in the choices of recruitment.


What goals do you have in your mind for the university for the next few years?

“The enhancement of academic resources and facilities”

  1. Teaching the teachers through the provision of pedagogical resources and training to a wide range of faculty.
  2. Develop a web page for information dissemination of pedagogical material, discussion topics, case studies-learning tools, etc.
  3. Institutions have begun to focus their research on sustainability and for good reason. While some researchers have always focused on sustainability
