World Space Week Celebrations at SITAM, VIzianagaram

Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR  Sriharikota,  ISRO, in association with Satya Institute of Technology And Management  ( SITAM), will celebrate World Space Week 2022 for three days from October 6 to 8 at SITAM.

Honorable Minister for Education, Sri Botcha Satyanarayana garu will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.  

Sri. Gudevada Amarnadh garu, Honorable minister for IT and Industries, Infrastructure will be the Chief Guest at Valedictory.

The event will be presided over by Sri A Prasad Rao,  Deputy director, SDSC SHAR, ISRO and  Dr. T V Ramana Reddy, Chief General Manager, SDSC SHAR.

Honorable Vice Chancellor of Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, Prof T V Kattimani garu, Honorable Vice Chancellor of JNTUK & JNTU_GV, Prof. Prasad Reddy garu will grace the events.

The celebration will also include  Space Walk on  October 6th, a walkathon by school and college students through the main Routes of Vizianagaram Fort, Three Lamps Junction, MG Road, Clock Tower and end at Sri Gurajada Statue, to create awareness about Space Science and Indian Space programmes. The Spacewalk will be flagged off by Smt. M. Deepika, IPS, District Superindent of Police, Vizianagaram.

“SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, has been celebrating World Space Week with an object to create awareness of Indian Space programmes to scientific, academic  and common public. We are extremely happy to be partnering with the Satya Institute of Technology And Management ( SITAM)  this year,” told G Appanna Chairman, World Space Week 2022  - Vizianagaram.

Students from over 150 educational institutions in and around the Vizianagaram District will be participating in the three-day event which will showcase the outstanding work done by ISRO through their exhibits. A preliminary  Space talent test was conducted through District education authorities to about 4000 students and about 400 students are sortlisted to participate quiz, extempore , drawing competitions at SITAM.

The exhibition will be open to the general public from 6th to 8th October  for three days. “The event is a tremendous opportunity for the students of all school and college Students of Vizianagaram District” said Dr. Majji Sashibhushana Rao, Director, SITAM.


SITAM Vizianagaram receives Institute of Innovation Council certification

MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) has been established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to systematically inculcate the culture of innovation amongst every Higher Education Institutions. It focuses on encouraging, inspiring, and nurturing the students by supporting their innovative ideas. MIC has created the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC’s) across all the selected Higher Education Institutions.

Recently, SITAM became part of MIC by establishing the Institute of Innovation Council (IIC). It is the first college in the whole Vizianagaram district to get IIC recognition. Satya Institute of Technology and Management is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and is affiliated with JNTUK, Kakinada. It is accredited by NAAC with a grade of “B+”. With the establishment of IIC at SITAM, Youngsters got several Opportunities to develop their new ideas. Several Start-Ups developments would also take place at SITAM. IIC would promote aspiring entrepreneurs and open new paths for the development of innovative ideas. The Union Ministry of Education works with the Innovation Council (IICs) to promote creative energy in the youth.

For handing out the IIC Establishment Certificate to College Director Dr. M Sashibhushana RaoDr. Bijay Kumar Sahu IIC, AICTE Member, regional manager of NRDC, personally visited the SITAM college. SITAM College Dean of R&D Dr. Y Narendra Kumar, Vice-principal CH V Lakshmi, TPO B K RaoL. Satyavathi also participated in the program. It is a great step of SITAM to establish the IIC as it would encourage Innovation, Idea Development, and Prototyping at a National level.
