What are some insightful features of the programme you offer at your institute/department that connect with the most recent educational policy?

In accordance with the most recent educational policy and recognising the globalising nature of emerging technologies, MEC, a premier institute, encourages its students to be well-versed in AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning), and IoT (Internet of Things) in order to be prepared for a global job market. MEC runs personality development programmes and certification programmes, such as IT Essentials, CCNA Certification, and Oracle Certification, to meet these objectives and cultivate inquisitive pupils.

How does the programme ensure that students are equipped for the future business culture following the pandemic?

The training and placement cell, in collaboration with "The Institution Innovation Council" (IIC) and the R&D Department, assists all departments in enhancing students' professional readiness. The college is also affiliated with prestigious organisations such as IEEE Forum, Hyderabad Section for Skill Connect Program, Spoken Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay for IT/Software courses training programme, and Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK) for conducting skill development activities to bridge the gap between the college and the post-pandemic corporate world.

What are your thoughts on the future of education in light of the fast trend of incorporating technology into every course?

MEC strongly believes that in order to convey knowledge using the most effective techniques, professors must be highly trained and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Therefore, MEC continually encourages them to advance their skills and expand their knowledge through research and innovation. MEC offers regular seminars, workshops, and conferences for its faculty and students in order to keep them abreast of the most recent technological advancements pertinent to their particular academic curriculums.

How do you typically establish an industry link with new roles provided by companies?

MEC sponsors conferences, webinars, workshops, seminars, and industry visits to provide students with direct access to industry leaders. The institution has signed over 35 MoUs with some of the most prestigious corporations and has established R&D Labs such as the Texas Instruments (TI) Innovation Lab, BOTLAB (CSE department), and the "Center of Excellence for Electric Vehicles" in partnership with M/s SkillShark Edutech Pvt.Ltd. 'Institution Innovation Council' was also established in accordance with the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and e-Yantra Robotics Lab in conjunction with IIT Bombay. In MEC, it is normal practise to train students in cutting-edge technology according to required knowledge and to encourage them to participate in industrial internship programmes in order to adapt to the industry's changing state. Its associations with prestigious organisations such as IEEE Forum, Hyderabad Section for Skill Connect Program, Spoke Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay for IT/Software courses training programme, and a plethora of other institutions that provide students with training on the most recent technologies enhance the learning process and prepare students for the workforce. In addition, the Industry-Institution Partnership Cell (IIPC) at Matrusri Engineering College is bridging the gap between industry expectations (practise) and academic offerings (theory) by directly incorporating industry to achieve a symbiosis. MEC's curriculum is distinctive in its design, incorporating innovative teaching methods that are fully supported by training in practical skills and industry interface.

What obstacles did you face when incorporating the new programme into your curriculum?

Infrequently is it known whether or not a student is able and willing to grasp the material. Introducing a new course for the first time is difficult. Even though the prerequisites for this course have been addressed previously, we cannot predict how well students will understand it. However, the department always assigns the same team of faculty members for a second time to resolve implementation-related issues. The curriculum modification, which occurs every two years, will always assist in closing the loops by involving all stakeholders.

What are the most important considerations when adding a new course?

When adding a new course, the following aspects are considered: The course should give the student the career development prospects he expects.

The faculty members should be able to instruct the new course at the required standard. The new course's infrastructure requirements (State-of-the-Art Laboratories).
