Shete Hanmant has experience of around 23 years in teaching and 1 year of industrial. He is the Dean R&D at Ashokrao Mane Group of Institutions, Vathar from Jan. 2023. Earlier he was the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department (UG and PG) at Ashokrao Mane Group of Institutions, Vathar from Sept. 2018 to 2022. He has also worked as a Coordinator of Post Graduation course in Mechanical-Design Engineering from October 2015 to Sept. 2018.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

From my student life, I have a liking and habit of deep involvement in study. I know the importance of providing knowledge, guidance, and motivation to the students for their better career. These things constantly energise and get connected with the educational sector.


Being the Chairman/ President/VC/ Professor of XYZ College/ University, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

Having a lead role in the educational sector is a little bit different than other sectors. In education, I prefer to be democratic and motivator to improve quality of staff, to provide advanced resources and unique policies for the betterment of the stakeholders and naturally for the institute. 


Being the President/VC of XYZ College/University, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

I would like to set high education standards ,execute them continuously and involve all stakeholders to satisfy them fully, and involve them to contribute for the institute. In the journey initially priority will be given for vertical growth and then horizontal through the constant improvements.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

Flexibility in course and education structure, provision of advanced resources and thereby imparting skills to the students as per the industry requirements should be the priorities of an institution/ University over the next 10 years. 


What do you see as XYZ College’s greatest strengths?

Developing the staff who will put all efforts for the betterment of students, involvement of all stakeholders and provision of necessary infrastructure and educational resources are the strengths of any institute. 


What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for XYZ University specifically?

Tremendous changes in the market/ industry sectors at fast pace, encouragement of unethical practices by the other institutes, entry of students having less liking of education are some of the challenges for the institutes. 


Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Students should keep in mind that nothing is cheap in today's world. Everything can be sold, but only because of skill sets. So students should set high goal , develop himself differently and must strive hard to achieve it.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute/ university?

Focus of policies for the students' betterment, improving quality of staff in terms of knowledge and humanity along with satisfying their economic needs and justice to both management and stakeholders can maintain a healthy culture in any institute.
