Dr. Manish kumar Gupta, SUAS Indore

Dr. Manish Kumar Gupta is currently serving as the Assistant Professor at SUAS Indore. Dr. Gupta’s qualifications include B.Sc, M.Sc. (Physics), M.Tech. (Microelectronics and Embedded Systems), Ph.D. (ECE), SET-Physics (Uttarakhand). Prior to SUAS, he has worked as Teaching Assistant at JIIT Noida. He has worked as Assistant Professor in Chitkara University, IET Alwar, Jaipur National University and Vivekananda Global University.

Dr. Gupta has been a Convener in many National Level Science Project Competitions. He has attended, coordinated and organized various workshops and seminars. He was elected thrice as ‘Faculty of the Week’ at Vivekananda Global University. He has received ‘Best Paper Award’ at SPRINGER International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Applications. His research papers have been published in reputed journals. He has also presented his research papers at national and international conferences.

He has 3 published books to his credit and contribution in 2 book chapters.

Dr. Gupta is a member of IEAE, IEEE, IDES, IAEng, SAVE International, I-Xplore International Research Journal Consortium and Life Member of Rajasthan Physics Association. He is also the editorial board member and reviewer board member of many national and international journals.

Dr. Gupta’s education industry experience

I believe that serving the nation for its betterment through educating youth is one of the best experiences one can have in his life. I am lucky enough to grab this opportunity and totally devoted to this job as my family background is from the education industry only. My mom is a retired govt. teacher; my brother is a govt. teacher in Rajasthan. So, both of things help me to recognize the education industry as the best one. 

The leadership style of Dr. Manish Kumar Gupta

If you are doing good and right at the right time, people will acknowledge your leadership with due respect. I believe a leader is recognized by the team, so it must be earned.  I set my goals, identify action team and back them.

Leadership needs a lot of devotion to the work of the leader itself

 I always understand the issues and challenges raised by my team and try to find the solution. It’s very simple, this education world is full of challenges. Identify one which is to be solved first and set the goal.

Challenges countered as the Assistant Professor of SUAS

Symbiosis University, Indore (SUAS) is India’s first skill university. We believe in education through skilling which is a unique concept itself. There are lots of things to be done for proper channelization of the skill education system. Our Engineering and Management students are in top industries for summer internship right from their 2nd year. It’s a big challenge to update ourselves with the growing industry demands and impart the same to the students.

Still, we are working hard to provide the society best-skilled pupils who will be able to fit in the higher level jobs in the coming future.

Dr. Gupta on the curriculum of SUAS

Being a skill university, SUAS totally focus on the future ready technologies which will be in high demand in upcoming years. Our curriculums are designed in collaboration with industries and updated, if needed, on a regular basis. We are following the NSQF syllabus for proper recognition of our students’ learnings. 100% internship offers in both engineering and management even in the second year of study approves our efforts. It motivates us to do even better in the near future.

Changes seen in the Education Industry over the past few years and skill sets that corporates require

The education industry is facing disruption these days. Due to the failure of core engineering branches these days, a large number of students is in dilemma to decide what can be a better option for them. Industries now require skilled persons who can work smart and perform better. Due to many limitations, most of the engineering colleges of the nation are not able to impart the appropriate knowledge/skill to their most important stakeholders. SUAS is a platform to fill this gap.

We directly offer the skill programs in form of certificates, diplomas and degrees

where our stakeholders can choose what exactly they want to learn and industries can pick them as they will find an exact match of their requirements.

Dr. Gupta’s availability for the students

As I said earlier, students are one of the most important stakeholders of any university (and faculty is another one, obviously). It’s more difficult for them to get fit in this new skill model-based study pattern. I believe in helping them at every stage whenever they face any kind of problem in their professional or personal life. I am accessible to them anytime and they all know this very well. I believe, a teacher is a teacher because of his/her students.

Goals to accomplish in the coming years

SUAS is a new initiative and we all here are looking for its nationwide identification as a well-managed and well-planned skill university. In the next few years, we will be looking for its NAAC Accreditation and then its entry remarks in NIRF and other reputed university rankings.

Advice for the young aspirants

My simple message to youth is: Don’t fear to do something because others could not succeed. There are always many ways to get a goal. Find them out. This Life is like a game, don’t expect a goal in the start, play till the end for the win.
