Ms. Trisha is the Assistant Professor at the Kejriwal Institute of Management and Development Studies (KIMDS) Ranchi. She has completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Management ( Human Resource and Marketing). She has previously worked as HR head, Admin Manager, Faculty associate, and many other such important designations. What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“I prepare students to be change-makers in their professional field & influence others positively”

Being a faculty of the Human Resource Department, I facilitate my students to learn the course curriculum along with the emerging trends in HR with various innovative techniques. My motive is to illuminate students about the organizational needs and the various roles of manpower within them. 

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

“Discussion of new concepts, case studies, examples, & real-life experiences are incorporated in the syllabus”

I believe in the concept of “Learning from Errors”. By giving students case studies related to various HR issues, I make sure that the students tackle, fail, and try again. Instead of making a class only one-way communication, I make it a discussion mode. 

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students?

“An updated curriculum with interactive teaching methodologies motivate our students to keep learning”

Apart from using multimedia teaching aid like well-equipped classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, etc., we create innovative learning spaces by linking the theoretical topics with case studies, examples, and real-life experiences. Projects and assignments are given and evaluated to examine students from time to time. We update our course curriculum as per the industry’s needs.

What has been your vision for this institute?

“To become an institute of renowned prestige with new-age student-teacher interactions”

When I came to the college, my vision was quite clear; I wanted to provide an environment in which my students can feel comfortable while they learn. I wanted to break down students’ image of what a teacher is. Many of them think the teacher is a traditionalist and serious person. However, by sharing a little of myself, I can break down this blockade, and consequently, they can see me as a human just like them. For this, I exert several innovative activities to make sure that the students remain curious & come to class with a smile on their faces.

How does the college enhance the skills of the faculty for better teaching methods?

“Faculty development programs, and training modules for skill-enhancement of faculty members” 

Our College always encourages the faculty members to participate in various workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. Industry experts from reputed organizations are invited for guest lectures to increase awareness regarding current developments in the market.

What do you see as the college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

“We have a peaceful environment where students can learn and grow”

We focus on the development of every student. We follow a cooperative learning approach along with integrating technologies into the curriculum. We take tests and quizzes after the completion of every unit. Repetition of concepts among classes and rigorous testing is done. We have an excellent library of every subject in class and online.

“I would suggest the students develop a clear mission and vision of their life”

Keep yourself up-to-date in terms of knowledge and technology. Visit your college library and read professional journals each month.
