At SRIT, what is your philosophy of leadership?

“Ensuring involvement and power holding of each member”

My philosophy of leadership is decentralization, delegation of power, and participative management involving various stakeholders. Internal stakeholders like faculty, students, management, and external stakeholders like alumni, parents, employers, etc. get involved in the planning, design and development, and implementation of the various programs for the benefit of the students as well as the community at large. SRIT grooms the leaders at various levels like making the stakeholders as members and coordinators of various committees, incharges of class/labs, HoDs, Deans, etc and shape the upcoming leaders. Though in general, education institutions are of hierarchical organization structure, we also follow matrix format to speed up the decisions and their outcomes.

How has your vision for SRIT evolved over time?

“Strategic management and succeeding in different aspects”

I have always seen the enthusiasm of the management to see their organization as one of the best-optimized engineering colleges in this region and compete with other development institutions. I have to take this battle forward, wherewith my huge experience and network, I need to form a good team and do the spadework. My first focus is on HR where I could improve the people both in number and quality, secondly students admission wherein a good percentage of students have elevated. Simultaneously the infrastructure development has been tremendously successful with the help of management. Now, I am looking into quality aspects and moving ahead to get the authentication from the national level of accreditations both NBA and NAAC.

What are some plans that you are currently designing for your students?

“Advanced teaching-learning pedagogies”

We have always visioned to provide excellent infrastructure facilities towards self-learning and best practices. We are developing a dual-mode of learning, e-content, online & offline mode of teaching to make students self motivated and take the initiative in planning and executing. For that, various academic and administrative committees are in progress with students as members in the management and implementation works.

What do you see as SRIT’s greatest strengths?

“Great competency and quality education standards”

We are highly committed and have enough capable management to invest and motivate both the faculty and the students. We possess great infrastructure development and tireless efforts to improve further. In addition, we are leading towards quality education and awaiting certification from NBA and NAAC. Well committee, dedicated and energetic faculty, who works with passion without time limits and a strong bond with the external stakeholders are our greatest strengths.

How does the curriculum of SRIT ensure the best practice of industry?

“Regular reviewing, enhancing and improving courseline”

Though SRIT is an affiliation institution to JNTUA, Anantapur, I do ask my faculty and HoDs to review the syllabus and its contents, and forward them to the university BoS to consider and do the needful for the up-gradation of the curriculum. Apart from that, SRIT design and develop some of the value-added courses as per the requirement of the present industry and have collaboration with various industries and organizations towards certificate courses as well. SRIT – IIPC team continuously interacts and have different linkages, collaborations and MoUs, and enrich the students with exchange programs. Each faculty goes through the syllabus thoroughly and identifies the gaps within the syllabus to fulfill the course outcomes and also beyond the syllabus for the attainment of PO/PSOs.

How is your institute more welcoming to students of diverse backgrounds?

“Various financial aids and redressal system”

SRIT welcomes students of different races and economic backgrounds by not only fulfilling the norms of the government, but the management also has societal concern by providing various scholarships as well. In terms of waiver of tuition fee for those students who are economically weak, providing freeships, academic excellence awards, and laptops for students, the Institute is regularly motivating students. There are exclusively committees to look after socially weak students, gender sensitization and addressing various grievances and redressal from them from time to time.

What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Higher accreditations with most popular choice among students”

To be identified as one of the hubs for innovation is our topmost priority. As our society already bagged national-level projects, we want institute contributions to be doubled as well. Also, we aspire to become a UGC Autonomous Institute, and to be the first opted institution within the district.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment within your Institute?

“Respect the individual plans and their personal growth”

The institution is growing very fast and is a lighthouse for children towards their education and career growth. We have a very keen and student-friendly atmosphere, and is ready to keep the facilities 24*7. We help each and every student as well as in achieving their individual goals and accomplish them in best possible ways. This aid developing trust and faith among them and establish an environment of positive work culture. Providing good physical fitness centers as well as indoor and outdoor sports and games, yoga and making the community physically and mentally fit for overall development.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Explore mindfully and never stop learning”

Opportunities are huge in and around you, you need to come forward to explore them and grab them. One needs to be bold and start communicating with the peer team such that he/she can face the interview and give confidence to the recruiters a chance to hire you and mold you. Enjoy the adolescent age by learning/self-learning/relearning.
