Md. Mojib Ashraf is the HOD of Hotel Management at the Netaji Subhas University. He did Bachelors Degree in Commerce from Sambalpur University, Masters Degree in Tourism Management from IGNOU, 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management and qualified NET. He has received the Best Academician Award from Premiere Institute of Hotel Management Bhubaneswar for the year 2010-11.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To contribute to the development of students and the campus”

I try to impart the best resources for students to achieve their dreams. My responsibility is to contribute to the development of students and campus. It is helpful for society and academics at the same time.

How do you establish healthy relations with students and faculty?

“Develop a friendly environment and interact with everyone”

Several committees work for the functioning of the university to ensure the best education for pupils. We create a friendly environment with interaction with all members on campus. It leads to collective growth for all.

How do you bring a practical approach towards subjects as industry-oriented?

“Raise the learner-centric courses, training and skills for students”

I always ensure knowledge about the latest developments in the hospitality sector towards students. We decided to raise learner-centric courses, training and skills for them. All these improve the technical and practical approach of students in learning.

How does your department prepare students for higher education at Netaji Subhas University?

“Ensure training, skills and opportunities in Pan India for students”

New policies and practices are upcoming in the hotel industry each day. We prepare students for higher education and for placements. They get training to secure placements and competitive exams. We provide opportunities in Pan India for students and they are aware of scenarios in the hospital sector.

How do you help students to cope with outside competition?

“Training, industrial visits and active classroom participation are provided to students”

Extracurricular programs, training, theoretical and practical classes are available to all individuals. Competition is high in the current world to attain a good job. The training and placement cell on campus ensures the best skills for pupils. They also get industrial visits and active classroom activities on campus.

What extracurricular activities raise the skills of students to face real-world challenges?

Several events take place on campus to help students to acquire the necessary knowledge. It enables them to attain confidence and do the work in a smart manner. What challenges have you faced to uplift the education quality of Netaji Subhas University?

“Understanding of subjects for students and uplift of quality in faculties”

The Hospitality Management course comprises various courses and candidates from different fields take admission here. Some pupils face difficulties in understanding subjects and it raises the pressure on faculties. Faculties face some difficulty to uplift students in some cases.

Our campus provides the best education for students. The academics follow a practical approach through activities and syllabus. Online, offline sessions and industrial visits are available to all pupils.
