Dr Gaurav Malhotra is the Director at ISBA Institute Of Professional Studies, Indore. He has a teaching experience of 19 years and is a Lean six sigma certified educational trainer. He has a Doctorate in Marketing, Masters in Economics and Business Administration. He also has global teaching experience in academic institutes at Mauritius and Bangkok, with 20+ subjects. What keeps you connected to the education sector?

“My association to this sector keeps me motivated and driven” 

Young people make excellent teachers, apart from being our students. The exchange of knowledge in this sector is a fascinating process. One of the compelling factors is the confluence between teaching and learning. A person who works in education has immense joy when they see their students flourish and raise the glory of our nation, our institution, and their families.

What are your ideas of academic leadership?

“The open-door policy is crucial in today's leadership methods”

  • I would define my leadership style as persuasive, participative and democratic. I give everyone the chance to express themselves, so we can be aware of any problems and try to find a solution together.
  • A leader is one who can direct the efforts and energies of his team towards his desired goals. In addition, leadership is the ability of a person to direct the energies of his team towards his desired goals. 
  • If a leader is available to his team whenever they require, the team is always available for a leader's goal.

What can the inbound students expect from the academics of this institute?

“Students will develop analytical and decision-making skills”

Through ISBA, we offer students exposure to the economic, social, as well as educational systems of foreign countries by taking them on international educational tours. How do you ensure that the students are ready for the future as professionals?

The business environment in the real world is very dynamic and modern education has to be updated from time to time. The education policy of old fashioned schools does not produce industry-ready candidates. Hence, we have prepared a system where students take industry learnings from top leaders with a corporate background and apply their learnings through internship programs. 

How do you provide a holistic environment for your learners?

The ISBA Institute of professional studies offers a wide range of courses. These are BBA, B.Com., B.Sc., BA, M.Sc., M.Com. PGDM, and PGDCA. Also, we are the premier Institute that has started B.Voc interior and fashion designing degree courses from DAVV. Apart from all these, we give equal importance to extracurricular activities from our ‘Eventful Saturdays’ which includes:

My role and responsibility towards the Institute and students are mainly to provide an environment that facilitates growth, learning, and expanding their horizons. I am responsible for creating a supportive team that continually works to better the students. In addition, I hope to instil a passion for learning in each and every student, so that they see knowledge acquisition as a continuous process throughout their lifetime.

 The students in today's world do not have any enforcements forcing them to study. In understanding their importance to their families and country, they should be humble. The solution must come from within. Success cannot be achieved by taking shortcuts. The key to success lies in hard work, discipline, and determination.
