Dr. Anita Kumari is the Dean of Student Welfare in the RKDF University. She did MA, B.Ed from Ranchi University and Ph.D from Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. She has 14 years of teaching experience in English language, Literature, Soft Skills and Personality Development. She has chaired and attended the National and International Conferences. She is Author of the Book Titled “Communication Skills” and “The Phonological and Sociolinguistics study of English Communication”. She authored a good number of Research Articles in National and International Journals.

What is your leadership philosophy?

''Confidence, discipline, ethical behavior, and an open mind are my leadership philosophy”

A leader's value exhibits his or her own ideas. My leadership values include Confidence, discipline, ethical behavior, and an open mind. As an educational leader, I have a responsibility to set high standards for teaching and learning. All students deserve a well-rounded, and quality education. It prepares them for a successful future and take ownership of their learning.

What is the latest program offering in your university that helps students to outperform from the crowd?

“Offers soft skills training, personality development, public speaking, leadership and behavioral training for pupils”

We provide soft skill sessions, leadership and behavioral training for students. They get the chance to speak publicly and develop their personality. We assist them in how to work effectively and achieve their goals. Students learn to cooperate, create persuasive messages, ask thoughtful questions, engage in active listening, and choose the right medium. They are able to understand what others want, respond strategically to others needs, and develop critical communication skills for business and life.

What are some valuable insights of the program offered at RKDF University Ranchi?

“Leadership qualities, Teamwork, Time management, and Problem-solving skills are given to students”

The character traits and interpersonal skills improve through soft skills. Some of the valuable insights of programs are Attitude, Work ethic, Communication in both listening and speaking. How do you tend to build an industry connection with the programs you offer at your university?

“Provide soft skills, and training for students to attain job opportunities”

Most recruiters are interested in the soft skills of candidates rather than qualification. Soft skills define you as a team player, able to build a good relationship with teammates and customers. To attain or pass an interview, soft skills are necessary for candidates. A soft skills expert will secure the position more easily and maintain a good relationship with the company.

What challenges have you faced while inculcating programs in the curriculum?

“Display differences in learning abilities, motivation, previous exposure to learning, and socioeconomic background are some challenges we faced”

Different levels of proficiency are visible in the University students. Some of the challenges we faced display differences in learning abilities, motivation, previous exposure to learning, and socioeconomic background. Quick learners understand subjects easily and perform the tasks better. However, slow learners are not able to understand properly and lag behind. Mentors find it difficult to provide these students with appropriate materials. It also hampers the participation of all the learners.

Have you introduced any new programs in RKDF University Ranchi?

“Introducing a 3 year program in BA LLB, BBA LLB, Certificate Program in Retail Management and more for students”

We always try to introduce various new programs for the student for career enhancement. Our University always believes in the quality of education. Latest 3 year programs introduced by campus are BA LLB and BBA LLB. We also introduced short-term UGC Courses 60hrs, and 40hrs. It includes Certificate in Project Management, Certificate Program in Retail Management, Certificate Program in Investment & Risk Management, Certificate Program in Business Communication and Certificate Program in Strategic Human Resource Management.

How do you bring in a practical approach to subjects as industry-oriented?

“Internships, Industry visits, soft skills and training are available for pupils”

Students get professional experience by the continuous practice of soft skills. For example, they can easily deal with conflicts, scratches and any tough cases. Pupils need some time to develop all skills. We provide training, internships and industry visits to achieve soft skills quickly. 

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students to face real-world challenges?

“Public Forum Debate, Model United Nations, Drama club, and Mock Trial are provided to students”

Our campus provides Drama club to foster children's imagination & curiosity along with critical communication skills. High school students are tasked with acting out a civil or criminal trial in a mock trial competition. They can also participate in Public Forum Debate competitions with highly structured speaking guidelines and times. Students get a chance to act as a Parliament member by solving simulated challenges guided by parliamentary procedure by acting as a Model Political Leader. In Model United Nations (MUN), students get the opportunity to step into the shoes of world leaders to debate and solve global challenges.

What are the placement statistics of RKDF University Ranchi?

“100 percentage of placement in Pg program during 2021 and rest placement drive is going on 2022''

We received 100% placement in Pg courses of 2019 - 21 sessions. Remaining placement drive is going on in 2022. Several students get placed in reputed companies.

What challenges do you see for higher education and RKDF University, Ranchi specifically?

“Outdated education model and Success measured by standardized tests”

Primary challenge is the outdated education model and Success measured by standardized tests. Education model is not designed to meet the needs of modern students. Old curriculum never links with the practical world and does not let students progress forward. This outdated education model needs to be updated with modern education trends. It helps students to showcase their talent and understand modern development.
