I have been selected at Great Lakes, TAPMI, IRMA and IIT -BHU, KJ Somaiya (MBA - HCM). Which one should I take? I am totally confused.

First of all, congratulations on your acceptances to these colleges. Great Lakes would be the best option for you if you’re interested in a one-year MBA program, especially in the IT domain, given the current COVID situation. If you’re interested in rural management instead, IIRMA is considered the best program for that specialization.

I would advise against choosing IIT-BHU and recommend KJ Somaiya only if you’re specifically interested in pursuing an MBA in HCM. TAPMI would be the best choice for someone looking for a general MBA program without a specific interest in any of the specialized areas mentioned above.

I am selected in bimtech for pgdm-ibm. Should I go for it?

SJ

You should go for BIMTECH IBM (Insurance Business Management) program. It is well-known across India and one of the very few colleges in India offering a course in Insurance.

The faculty is highly experienced and the program has a 100% placement rate. You will be placed first among all others on the campus as the majority of the recruiters are Insurance Firms. The average salary package offered for PGDM IBM at BIMTECH lies between the range of 6-7 LPA.

Go for it if you are looking forward to a career in the Insurance industry.

How helpful would an online MBA degree be from NMIMS, Mumbai?

AD
Anuraag Das Posted On : May 10th, 2023
Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

The new ruling or the new update is that the online program of NMIMS has been stopped by the UGC. But even if it was in place, I would have suggested you in a negative. Go for full-time programs always and if possible do it from some premier B-school. In fact, do not go for an online MBA in India, until and unless you have some dependencies or constraints. Instead, go for some other short-term courses which are industry oriented or in other words, in-demand courses that align with your career goals and interests. Some examples from my side - get yourself PMP certified, do some digital marketing courses, big data and analytics for any industry, supply chain management, and many more.

Is IMS Ghaziabad good for a PGDM placement-wise? Should I leave Lucknow's Jaipuria for IMS Ghaziabad?

SM
Shreya Manna Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied at Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad

There is not much difference in both institutes and it does not make sense to leave a Tier II college in India just to join another one. If you are confident with your choice then you should go for it.

One of my friends studied at IMS Ghaziabad and he is now working in a respectable position in a top MNC.

  • IMS Ghaziabad is a brand in itself. They have a proper curriculum, well-equipped hostels, library, computer labs and other facilities.
  • The course is a unique blend of academics and corporate learning.
  • Faculty members will teach you professional ethics and how to excel in a particular field.
  • The campus is wifi enabled.
  • The hostels provide healthy and hygienic meals, laundry and ironing facilities, transport facilities for the students.

IMS holds the record of 100% placement (International and domestic ). It is suggested you go for IMS, Ghaziabad as it is the best option in Delhi- NCR for a PGDM degree.

Which MBA is better, an online MBA from the University of Bradford for £17000 or a part time MBA (PGP Pro) from ISB, Hyderabad at double the price?

AZ
Asif Zafar Posted On : February 8th, 2023
MBA from Indian School of Business (2020

Whenever you are in a dilemma of choosing an MBA program you need to consider 2 very important things.

  • MBA does not just mean learning the curriculum, it has a higher picture that includes; the tag attached, the alumni network you get access to, etc
  • Another major thing to consider is the cost-benefit analysis. Will the high fees you spend bring back favorable results?

Once you have done this basic analysis, go on and choose an MBA program that suits your needs best.

Your question is regarding an online MBA from the University of Bradford. One thing you need to know is that no matter how good the university is, an online MBA is not as impactful as an offline MBA. The lack of contact hours, peer learning, and the network does not do justice to the MBA program.

ISB Hyderabad on the other hand is a recognized brand and its global rankings are a testament to its worth and brand. ISB is ranked 44th best program in the list of top 100 global MBAs (FT Rankings). Not many MBA programs can match that level let alone online programs.

The most important thing to consider is the cost analysis benefit and the quality of learning rendered by both programs.

Can I get into a good Management School like TAPMI, XIMB, XLRI, SPJIMR etc. after completing my B.Tech in 4.5 years due to one backlog?

SS
Sudipta Sen Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Studied at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (2018)

Yes. Even though you have completed your B.Tech in 4.5 years due to a backlog, it is still possible to get into a good management school. But you have to put in a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve this.

  • First of all, you need to perform very well in your CAT/XAT exams and score at least 96 percentile. This will improve your chances of getting short-listed for GD & PI.
  • For the Personal Interview round, you need to prepare very well. You must introduce yourself well to the people in the selection committee regarding your circumstances and try not to tell any fake excuses before them to get sympathy. They are very experienced in this field and have been doing it for years so they will definitely find out the truth.
  • If the committee thinks that you are a good scholar and due to some bad circumstances you are in this situation, then there will be no reason to disqualify you.

You might also be asked some difficult questions regarding your course and about your career, so also prepare for them very well and give your interview with full confidence. And if you are having some additional qualities like excellent in sports, extracurricular, leadership qualities, strong communication then your chances of getting selected will increase further.

Prepare well enough for your interview and try to present yourself as a perfect aspirant, avoiding any mistakes and you will definitely get selected at a top management school.
