During a normal placement season, there are about 4 to 5 days in which major companies hire for summer placements. The top companies will come within the first two days. You can think of applying then right away so you have higher chances of getting converted and landing a job.

If you are looking for an internship, some things will be in your hands while a few might not. During your first three months at the college, you will be trained quite well for group discussion and personal interview. Your overall communication and subject knowledge will also improve especially in the field of supply chain and operations.

Companies usually shortlist students who will be involved in the company process. Your chances of being shortlisted highly depend on your previous academic grades, work experience, your CV, and also the company requirements.

The highest stipend for two months is about INR 3 lakhs with an average of about INR 1.28 lakhs for two months.

Overall, ensure that you have a well-rounded CV to help increase your chances of getting selected.

How is the accomodation at NITIE for PGDIM students?

RS
Riya Seth Posted On : August 13th, 2021
Studies PGDIM at NITIE Mumbai 2022

One of my cousins was a part of NITIE Mumbai and has a better outlook regarding the same. Here is what he has to say,

  • NITIE Mumbai is equipped with a 16 storied hostel apartment for boys, commonly called the Taylor Hostel, and almost 8 to 10 equipped for the girls, mostly known as the Gilbreth Hostel.
  • The girls’ hostel is quite old and outmoded.
  • The rooms of the Gilbreth Hostel, however, are quite a bit more spacious than what is in the boys’ hostel.
  • The hostel arrives with 27 rooms on every floor, with a twin sharing policy added.
  • It comes with two beds, two tables and chairs, and two individual cupboards.
  • The rooms are gigantic and completely airy.
  • The view side of the institute’s hostel is beyond explanation as well. It overlooks the Vihar Lake on one side, while the Hiranandani Gardens on another.
  • The food you can avail in two messes is commonly known as Sarabhai and Taylor hall. Mostly, the food quality remains constantly the same either way.
  • The hostels also have table tennis courts, and mounted television sets as well.

These are what you should know before finally deciding anything.

How much percentile do I need to get a call from MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, IIM K, SP Jain, NITIE?

AB
Aditi Bhardwaj Posted On : March 7th, 2023
MBA in Marketing, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2018)

To secure admission to top MBA institutes in India, you should aim for CAT percentiles from 85 onwards. Here's the order of the institutes you should target in descending order - IIM K with 97+ percentile, MDI with 96+, IMT Ghaziabad with 90+, SPJain with 85+, and NITIE with as high as possible sectional-wise.

Even though SPJain is a premier institute, it gives a call from the 85 percentile onward, since they focus on overall values that an individual possesses and want students with more values in them. They have 2 group interviews, so they follow a rejection procedure.

NITIE has a sectional cutoff, so it's advisable to have as high as possible sectional-wise, as many people with an overall CAT percentile in the range of 97-98 were not selected in either of their 2 programs(PGDM and PGDIESM) in 2016.

IIM K also has a sectional cutoff of 90+, so it's important to score well in each section.

It's worth noting that these institutes do not have a sectional cutoff, but it's always advisable to have a 90+ sectional percentile to be on the safer side. Aim for high percentile and sectional scores to improve your chances of securing a seat in these prestigious institutes.

What will be the job profile after completing PGDIE from NITIE?

CK
Chetan Kapoor Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA General Management & Post Graduation in Supply Chain and Operations Management, NITIE Mumbai

Coming from a mechanical background, I can assure you that you will find a lot of opportunities in your desired field of interest. Your chances of getting placed with a manufacturing firm or an FMCG are higher.

If you get placed in a manufacturing firm or an FMCG or any e-commerce company, you will get jobs offering planning roles.

NITIE attracts a lot of consulting and manufacturing firms. To be honest, the only college where you will find manufacturing firms offering SCM roles is NITIE. In addition to that, NITIE is the best in providing roles related to demand planning, forecasting, and similar job profiles in an FMCG firm.

Hello sir, which will be a better option between NITIE Mumbai and IIM Indore …there are many controversies about Indore that batch size being huge it's difficult to get placed there?

SS
Swati Srivastava Posted On : May 10th, 2023

It is subjective and it completely depends on your goals and your preferences, and how much the IIM tag matters to you. If you are really keen and want to have a career in operations and especially supply chain management then you can/should go for NITIE.

For all other streams go for IIM-I without any second thought. The placement is good there even with the big batch size and all, and why consider yourself at the bottom of the batch before even entering the institution? Even if you are able to keep yourself in the top 50 percent you will get a good and lucrative job and package.

Below is a table comparing the two on the basis of fees, and packages;

B-School

Fees

Average Salary Package

Median Package

Highest Salary Package

NITIE Mumbai

INR 17.31 lakhs

INR 25.27 LPA

INR 22 LPA

INR 78.20 LPA

IIM Indore

INR 21.05 lakhs

INR 30.21 LPA

INR 27.2 LPA

INR 1.14 CPA

And the Average Package of the top 50% of the batch INR 34.04 LPA (NITIE)

Should I join NITIE or IIM Indore?

AM
Abinash Mishra Posted On : May 13th, 2022
MBA from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

You should join NITIE. Although it is mostly known for Supply Chain and Operations, it offers good opportunities in other industries as well. NITIE placements trends reveal that recruiters from FMCGs, BFSI, consulting sector, and IT/E-commerce also visit the campus placements. So, you will have better chances of landing a job in a leading company. According to the placements highlights of 2022, the average CTC for NITIE stood around INR 25 LPA.

IIM Indore has a huge batch size. While the batch size of NITIE is concise, students get the required attention from teachers. The location of NITIE is also favorable. Doing an MBA from Mumbai will definitely help you get good internship and placement opportunities.

What should I prepare to get an admission at NITIE Mumbai through GATE?

RP
Rewa Palit Posted On : August 16th, 2021
Studies PGDIE at NITIE Mumbai 2023

The first part of your question cannot necessarily be broken down. But, it can rather be said that you should prepare enough to secure a reasonable score in GATE to be shortlisted.

  • There are other things you should be aware of as well. For example, the GD topics usually conducted at the institute were not entirely technical and commonly included general question sets.
  • Talking about PI, you have to present your CV or application, as per requirement.
  • Essentially, the admission procedure consists of two rounds of GD, followed by PI.
  • You should be well prepared since there is a screening procedure in either round.
  • The most vital thing is to make a good impression on the panelist.

However, it is essential that you put valid points when participating in one. Because this will determine whether or not you are the best fit among others.

NITIE has a total of 5 courses both for the students attempting for CAT and GATE. The courses for CAT students include PGDIM and PGDISEM whereas for the GATE students include PGDIE, PGDPM, PGDMM.

  • Firstly, the students have been shortlisted according to their entrance exam scores be it CAT or GATE.
  • After that, once shortlisted, they are called for the campus round which is Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
  • Again, they are shortlisted based on the score attained in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview and the final list is prepared.

The minimum eligibility for any student to be a part of the NITIE is to have a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology degree with at least 60% aggregate in any branch. For the SC/ST/PwD category, this aggregate of 60% goes down to 55%. There are a few seats that are reserved for the sponsored candidates.
