ABES Ghaziabad is a better choice. It is thriving and is now one of the best colleges in the state. The training and placement cell is quite good, bringing in a large number of companies.

Academics:

Among all Aktu colleges, ABES has the finest academic record. However, they are very strict with students in this regard. The first year's results are crucial for college. As a result, first-year students have limited independence.

Location:

ABES is located on NH-24 in Ghaziabad, in a prime location. As a result, there is stronger connectivity with Delhi. This College has an advantage over other government colleges in Aktu because of its position in the Delhi NCR. 

• Students have a lot of resources at their disposal to help them prepare for employment and interviews. 
• NCR has the best gate and coding coaching and Because of their locations in Delhi-NCR, more corporations visit the campus.

Coding Culture:

College seniors are quite helpful. ABES has a better coding culture than other colleges in the NCR.

Placement:

BTech CSE at ABES is really good, the reason being the placements at this college. No matter how hard they grill you for the first three years, the placements & placement cell of this college is quite good and if you are in CSE/IT, consider yourself placed from the first year only.

You simply need to prepare yourself for a larger package because there are a plethora of companies offering packages ranging from 3 lakhs to 13 lakhs per annum and even more. According to the recent placement highlights the highest CTC offered was 8 LPA. All you need to do is enhance your coding skills.

So, I would suggest going with ABES. The institute has A/C classrooms, a positive campus culture, a premium location, and much more. You will definitely have a great time there.

IET Lucknow is one of the reputed engineering colleges in the country. The atmosphere at the institute is quite positive and from the reviews, I have heard from friends, ragging is not acceptable at all here. 

The college campus has a strict anti-ragging policy and a student found in contempt of it may face rustication. All the seniors are quite supportive of the fact that hostel life is tough for beginners and will help you get through the initial tough days. You might have a small interview round, which is mostly on the fun side, just to get to know each other and does not involve any ragging activities.

IET Lucknow is a pretty old college. As it is quite old you cannot expect the infrastructure to be in a good state even though there is lots of maintenance. My sister used to be a student of IET and here is some of her insight on the institute. 

• The infrastructure of the campus is very old.
• The classrooms are not as good as they should be. There are fans in the classroom but not many are in working conditions. Overall the infrastructure is fine but not as attractive as a good private college or any IIT/NIT.
• Hostels are very good for 1st and 2nd year and have some sports facilities too. All mess has AC and the food they serve are better than most other colleges.
• The hostel life is good although there is some restriction for girls as you cannot go out after 8 pm. But things are changing and I hope you will have a better experience.
• In IET you will get a lot of exposure through various clubs like EXCELSIOR the literary club, Abhivyakti-the magazine team, IET Whiteboard- Media team, IET Josh - the drama team, and many others.

Though IET is an old college, it is Government College and cost-effective. The one who doesn’t get into IITs or NIT’s for some reason can join IET. ECE and CSE are most reputed in IET. 

One of my friends studied at IET Lucknow. Here’s what I gathered about the college from him and a bit of research on the internet.

• A majority of the students from the colleges affiliated with the UPTU end up doing higher studies such as M.Tech or MBA.
• They may also need centers for coaching classes and there are plenty of them around IET Lucknow.
• In addition to that, a number of companies visit IET Lucknow during the placement session.
• It is the best option after HBTI Kanpur if you are looking forward to getting employed right after graduation.
• One of the best things about IET Lucknow is the high speed internet available for the students.
• As it is an institute under the government, the fees are less compared to other institutes.
• The location of the institute also works in its favor.
• Modes of conveyance are easily available.

Owing to the fact that it is one of the top colleges that is affiliated with UPTU, it succeeds in attracting more and more applicants. The institute is good for applicants who want to pursue CS.

Apart from these, the institute provides a good environment for study for students who wish to appear for their GATE and CAT exams. Students from IET often top both exams. The network of alumni of IET Lucknow is well renowned.

Your rank is good and you may get CS and IT branches. But getting another branch will be difficult for you at this rank. But you can get admission with this rank in any other government college. The closing rank for the first round at IET Lucknow is 15000 for the general category and 16000 for the spot round.

You can try the CSE branch at KNIT or MMM. You can try for other branches and after the first year, you can opt for a branch changing option.

Students who join IET Lucknow tend to have higher ranks in JEE (Mains) than JIIT Noida. But JIIT Noida is mostly preferred by students, here’s why:

Location

• Due to its location, JIIT Noida is mostly preferred. Being closer to Delhi, it has access to nearby corporate houses and IT firms.
• Students get to attend seminars and industry visits quite often.

Quality of Education

• The faculty is much better at JIIT Noida. Being a private institution, it provides personality development and other exposures.
• Students tend to follow a routine and are disciplined.

Placements

• JIIT Noida is better than IET Lucknow in placements for sure.
• The CSE department is the best among others.
• The highest and the second-highest salary offered at JIIT Noida to the batch of 2016-20 are INR 43.17 LPA by Adobe and INR 34 LPA by DE Shaw.
• CSE is also the best branch at IET Lucknow.
• Students get placement offers from Microsoft with a salary of INR 37 LPA. However, on average it is decent.
• Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a regular recruiter at IET Lucknow for ECE students.

Being a government-run college, IET has far fewer restrictions than JIIT Noida which appeals to many students. But it lacks in personality development and other exposures which you will get at JIIT Noida.

Now that you have known about both the colleges, I think you can clearly understand yourself and make a choice according to what you need.

The ECE department at IET Lucknow is not very impressive for pursuing higher education. 

• Sessions are scheduled quite casually and are very rare. 
• The placement it offers is similar to that of the other institutes which are affiliated with AKTU. 
• Mass recruiters like TCS are among the only few good options available for candidates. 
• IET is a Government Institute and hence the fee charged from candidates is lesser than that of Private institutions. 
• The institute is quite popular among the student communities in the state of UP.

One of my friends studied at IET Lucknow and availed hostel facilities. Let me share the information I gathered from him, which might help you make your choice. Here are some of these factors you might want to consider:

• The electric supply is mainly synchronized with Jankipuram, the specific area where the institute is fundamentally located.
• The supply can range to almost 23 to 24 hours in winter, and 22 hours in the summertime.
• Apart from that, water is supplied to the hostels through a tube bell which is essentially only slotted for IET Lucknow.
• For winters, there is a provision of Geyser facilities.
• The provision of western bathrooms is conditioned only during the first year, following which students have to again use the old system attached to their rooms.
• The wifi usually is provided via personal network systems for the new hostel for the first-year students.
• The major upside is that the LAN facility is extremely advantageous. You can experience high-speed internet nonetheless.
• The messes, at least most of them, are typically air-conditioned.
• You have the liberty to choose the delicacies that you prefer via the mess representative.
• The food facilities that can be availed in the c-block (mess) are overwhelming.

According to my friends from IET, the sports facilities on campus are decent. Every hostel has been equipped with one TT table, alongside one Badminton court. In fact, there is the provision of a main ground inside the college campus where you can play different forms of sports, such as football, cricket, and several other outdoor games. 

Alongside the available football and cricket ground, the college also offers one lawn tennis court. Students also enjoy the sports fest conducted every year by the college community, inviting several outside teams to compete. 

If you have the skills, then you can also get the opportunity to represent the college in the sports fest of IITs and other colleges.
