I have a few friends who recently graduated from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. According to them, the placement opportunities offered at the institute are decent. The package offered is not too high, but you can expect good job opportunities in reputed companies like L&T, Infotech, Bosch, etc.
In the recent placement drive, around 60% of students got placed with an average salary of 7 LPA. The placement opportunities at the institute are also increasing over the years.
Sharda University is a good choice as it is ranked at #151 out of 200 Top Private Colleges in India 2020 by NIRF and has also been rated #26 out of 50 Top Universities in India, 2020 by ARIIA. The university has a placement rate of 60%. And given that it is one of the private universities located in Greater Noida, this is not considered bad. On the other hand, when we are talking about placements and especially for those pursuing B.Tech in CSE, it is very important to keep in mind the type of students sitting in the placements.
Placement Overview for CSE at Sharda University:
Students are allowed to sit for placements post their seventh semester.
Given that Sharda is a private university, it doesn’t disappoint in terms of placement opportunities. Rather, it has tie-ups with top tier IT firms like HCL, Dell, IBM, TCS, etc visited the campus this year.
The highest package offered to the students was 12 lakh per annum whereas the average package was 3 lakhs per annum.
The placement rate for Sharda University is 60%.
When compared to other streams in B.Tech, CSE has fairly better placement options and high salary packages. A good amount of students are offered with Rs. 3.60 lakhs/ Rs. 4.50 lakhs/ and Rs. 5.20 lakhs per annum.
Sometime back, Sharda University’s placement rates were heavily disappointing but over the years, the placement rate graph has improved.
Therefore, it all depends on you. Along with a good personality, it is also important for students to maintain decent scores on their scorecard. The University does not fail in providing opportunities to its students. It’s up to them how they utilize it.
Campus Life of Sharda University is another driving factor that lures students to the college. It has a very social life. There are various eating joints present at the campus. Various sports and extracurricular activities are performed as well. Every department has its own set of a library with the most important books present there.
These constitute some other benefits that you can derive from being a student at Sharda University.
International Management Institute has been ranked 9th and 28th for private MBA by Outlook and NIRF respectively. The college offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Banking & Financial Services as a two-year course. The fees for the course is 17.68 lakhs for the full period.

IMI Delhi has been ranked highly among the top private universities in the country. The college has a very active placement cell which aims at providing a perfect placement rate consistently. The return on investment for the course is also extremely good, which makes it a recommendable institute. The curriculum is industry-based providing students with better knowledge for the corporate world.
The best way to secure a graduate trainee job at flip may through campus placements at IIT Roorkee is to improve your CGPA. But if you are a 3rd-year student, you are past the stage to improve your CGPA. Here are a few other ways
Written Test:
This is the first and the most important step for getting shortlisted. The written test comprises questions very similar to that of the CAT. It’s recommended to do some quantitative-based test exercises and practice some puzzles.
Group Discussion (GD):
To prepare for this round, brush up on your current affairs, and read a little of the newspaper daily so that you are aware of the current happenings. Perform a mock GD for practice. The judges are looking for candidates with excellent leadership skills and creative ideas. Don’t be aggressive at all while delivering your opinions.
Personal Interview (PI):
The panelists usually question you about your resume details so be well prepared for that. Make sure your resume is genuine and has no bluff. In this round, your confidence, ability to handle stress, teamwork, and analytical skills are evaluated. You can also be asked to solve a puzzle or case study. Having full knowledge of the company, and its recent development is an added bonus in the round.
Lastly, be confident while answering everything thrown at you and you are good to go.
After the completion of the first year, you can apply for internships for which you need to appear for an interview session alongside a written exam. It is usually based upon Aptitude and English, apart from subjects taught in NICMAR. During this time, you can practice for the final placements.
NICMAR also has a plethora of extracurricular activities to distract one from the flow. It is upon you to manage your time and execute your aim. It is suggested that you prepare thoroughly when you still can.
Although the initial salary packages offered by IHMs are good, don’t expect a cushy package. Your salary package will depend on the company that you are going to work for. It can range between INR 15,000 - INR 30,000/month. You can also get increments depending on the company rules. You should prepare thoroughly for the interview.
If you go through the management trainee program for some hostel you will get around INR 20,000 - INR 24,000. After completing the 2-year long trainee program you can expect to get a salary package of INR 40,000 - INR 50,000/month.
If you go through the management trainee program for food companies like KFC, Dominos, Starbucks then you can expect to earn around INR 25,000 for 2 years. After the training period, you will get salary packages around INR 30,000 - INR 40,000/month. The retail company job profiles also have a similar pay.
So, first, you should complete your management trainee program from a company that way you can start easily.
They do, indeed. XLRI does not have as many IB recruiters as IIMs A, B, C, or L, but there are still plenty of them.
Internships and permanent positions in Investment Banks are available throughout the year. They are highly sought for by students who have an interest in finance and pay far above average. Only BM students are eligible to apply for the posts.
The MBA students of DoMS NIT Trichy will not be significantly affected by the presence of IIM Trichy during the placement season. NIT Trichy is a well-known technical institute and around 60% of the companies that come for Techies also come for NIT Trichy. This means that there is a set of companies that are already open to hiring NIT Trichy students. In the past few years, more and more companies have opened up placements for DoMS, increasing the percentage placement conversion from these companies. The Training and Placement Committee also works to bring in more companies that align with the interests of the students.
Additionally, there are alumni connections that can be utilized. There may be some challenges with companies based in Chennai or Bangalore coming from BIM, but IIM Trichy has a different set of companies and therefore will not greatly impact NIT Trichy in that regard.
My knowledge is limited to MTech Civil Engineering placements from IIT Kanpur only. But I believe the placement scenario of IIT Kanpur and IIT Roorkee is pretty much the same.
The core Civil Engineering companies prefer structural engineers to transportation engineering and the competition is also high. For a structural engineer position, you might even have to compete with dual-degree students as companies generally prefer them for the structural engineering profile. Also, the number of structural engineers is higher than transportation engineers theory increasing the competition.
Coming to placements, MTech civil engineers rarely land good packages. A few consulting companies like Spectrum offer a very low package of around INR 4-5 LPA and recruit you as a trainee for 6 months. Lnt also offers 36000 per month to engineering trainees for a period of 6 months.
The general distribution of MTech Civil engineers is as follows
The average package depends on a lot of factors like what career prospect you go for.
IIM Jammu is better than other baby IIMs and private b schools (except the top ones). Its location is better than other baby IIMs as Jammu is a much larger city. IIM Lucknow shares its faculty with IIM Jammu. So the education of IIM Jammu is top class. Moreover, Jammu is not very far away from Delhi. This is helpful from a placement point of view. Reputed brands find it easier to access the IIM Jammu campus.
Last year, the placements concluded at 100% for MBA students. 126 recruiters visited the campus in total, and 246 offers were made. The highest CTC was 64 LPA and the average was 16.50 LPA. The major recruiting domains were Sales & Marketing, and General Management. The highest recruitments sector-wise were in BFSI, IT, and Analytics. Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, and Adani are some of the major recruiters for last year.
