Can I get Electronics Communication Branch with a general rank 1861 in MMMUT Admission Test If not then which Branch?

Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (2019)
I have a few friends from MMMUT. According to them, in this situation, the chances of getting a seat are very unlikely. Computer science and electronics communication branches are the most preferred ones. Since you are from the general category the chances are low but you should attend the counseling sessions to check in which branch you can get admission. In the third to the fourth round of counseling, you can get branches like Chemical Engineering.

Which is better: NIT Goa ECE or NITK EEE?

PR
Piyali Rao Posted On : August 24th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2021)

Among these two courses and colleges, you should probably choose EEE at NITK. Having to know some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that the infrastructure and facilities provided at NIT Goa are very poor, it is also below NITK in terms of rankings.

  • The campus of NITK is very beautiful with lush green surroundings. NIT Goa is much smaller and might be built inside a state government-run college. Students can enjoy leisure time along with their studies.
  • The faculty is very talented and highly experienced.
  • The course curriculum is updated according to the recent industry trends.
  • The placement opportunities are excellent. A lot of companies visit the campus for interviews.
  • NITK is also better if you want to do higher studies like machine learning, etc.
Categories EEE at NIT Surathkal
Course Fee 5.40 lakh
Highest CTC 14-15 LPA
Average CTC 8-9 LPA
Recruiting Companies Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, nVidia, Western Digital, etc.

Hence, choosing EEE at NITK will be a better option as the faculty, infrastructure, and placements of this college is great and there is also a very good scope of higher studies.

Which should I prefer, civil engineering at IIT Hyderabad or ECE at ISM Dhanbad?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : May 19th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Irrespective of the IIT tag you go for, Civil Engineering always has limited placements. Civil Engineering has become an outdated branch with little or no scope left. Although there are people who go for various options after pursuing civil engineering, which may include UPSC Examinations. What I mean is that Civil Engineering is not the right choice if your goal is placements. In that case consider ECE from ISM Dhanbad. Owing to the increased research in Machine Learning, the ECE branch is expected to grow ten folds in the coming future.

Additionally, ECE in IIT (ISM) has a pretty good coding and robotics culture, so you have both options, going for core jobs or CS jobs.

Ultimately, it’s all about personal inclinations. All I suggest is that never go for a mediocre rank just because a certain IIT is better than the other. The choice of your branch is equally important as the choice of your institute. Moreover, the Civil engineering scenario is similar in every IITs.

Which is easier, EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal?

TS
Tanushree Sen Posted On : June 10th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2019)

I have a few friends at NIT Surathkal and based on the conversation I had with them, I will say at NIT Surathkal, ECE is considered to be the toughest branch.

  1. The academics and research are taken very seriously in the department.
  2. The professors are demanding and highly qualified than other departments.
  3. In this department everyone, from HOD to lab assistants, everyone is serious about studies and making a point about academic rigor.
  4. The exams are also very tough and students even fail in lab examinations too.

But the scenario at the EEE department of NIT Surathkal is slightly different and its biggest advantage is that it has a relaxed attendance policy, unlike other branches.

The recent placement statistics for the branches are as follows.

Branch

ECE

EEE

Average CTC

8-9 LPA

5 LPA

Highest CTC

24 LPA

30 LPA

SJ
Subham Jiswal Posted On : April 1st, 2023
Studying at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune

When choosing between NIT Pune and IIIT Jabalpur, there are a few things to consider based on your goals and priorities. Here are some points to keep in mind:

Placement:

  • NIT Pune has a better placement record as compared to IIIT Jabalpur. If getting a job right after graduation is your primary concern, NIT Pune might be the better option.

Research opportunities:

  • IIITDMJ is better in terms of research opportunities as compared to NIT Pune. If you are looking to pursue research or want to become a research scholar or research assistant, IIITDMJ could be a better option for you.
  • IIITDMJ students have been able to publish research papers during their MTech courses.

Course options:

  • IIIT Pune's Computer Science Engineering (CSE) course is better than IIITDMJ's ECE or CSE course.
  • If you are planning to pursue a BTech degree, NIT Pune might be a better option for you.

Location:

  • NIT Pune is located in the city and has better connectivity to metro cities via flights.
  • IIITDMJ is located around 8 km away from Jabalpur city, and the connectivity of Jabalpur with metro cities through flights is not as good as Pune.
