How is Adani institute of Infrastructure Management? And How is PGDM IM course?

AN
Anand Nair Posted On : January 8th, 2021
B.Tech Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering, Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (2019)

The opinion on whether Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management is good or not may vary. One of my friends had a good experience, pursuing this course.

This course was earlier meant for executives but due to quality education, the institute is running this program for freshers as well as executives for the last five years.

PGDM in Infrastructure Management - Features:

  • The faculty quality is overall good. Apart from regular lectures, the institute also conducts guest lectures.
  • The facilities provided by the institute are also satisfactory.
  • The management at AIIM also uses their resources by inviting executives to share their experience and knowledge.
  • Site visits are arranged as per the requirement of the course.

Placements:

  • The average placement package received by the students was 7.5 LPA while the highest was 12.5 LPA.
  • The placement record has been 100% and students are being recruited by top companies that include ADANI, TATA, Reliance, KPMG, L&T.
  • Getting placement in Adani Group is easy, but students need to perform well to secure placements since Adani does not hire the whole crowd.

The institute is improving day by day with its experience of batches in all the courses. The fresher can enjoy the course but if you have more than 3 years of experience, think before joining AIIM.

What would be a better choice between IIM Bangalore PGPBA and XLRI Jamshedpur BM, provided I have 3 years of work experience in analytics field?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : May 3rd, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Both the PGPBA at IIM Bangalore and the BM at XLRI Jamshedpur are famous management programs known for their academic rigor, industry engagement, and alumni network.

Here are a few things to think about when you make your decision:

Programme Curriculum: The PGPBA program at IIM Bangalore focuses on business analytics and data-driven decision-making, whereas the BM program at XLRI Jamshedpur covers a wide range of management disciplines.

  • If you want to specialize in analytics, the PGPBA program at IIM Bangalore may be a better fit.
  • XLRI Jamshedpur BM may be a great alternative if you wish to broaden your management understanding.

Placements: The median salary offered in XLRI BM is INR 30 lakh per annum. The average salary saw an increase to 32.& lakh per annum from INR 30.7 lakhs per annum in 2022. Highest domestic offer at INR 78.2 lakhs per annum from the ITES sector. While in IIM B, has a median salary of 31.2 in 2022. If analytical aspects are the concern, so I think IIMs have tailored courses and updated one too.

Is it advisable to go for new IIM like IIM Jammu and do MBA? It is being mentored by IIM Lucknow so will placement be also mentored by them?

TG
Tanmay Ghosh Posted On : February 12th, 2024

IIM Lucknow does mentor IIM Jammu. But this mentorship extends only to the faculty, curriculum, and pedagogy of IIM Jammu. Most of the faculty of IIM Jammu and IIM Lucknow are the same. Also, the pedagogy and curriculum of both these colleges is the same. But IIM Lucknow does not look after the placements of IIM Jammu in any way.

It isn't correct to assume that the students of new IIMs aren’t as good as those of the old ones. The students of IIM Jammu have won several competitions. They are strong competitors for IIM A and B students.

Apart from this, IIM Jammu has a Student Exchange Program. It allows deserving students to complete a trimester at a European college. The placements of Jammu are on par with other baby IIMs. But you won’t get the same placements as the older IIMs. Finally, IIM Jammu carries the prestigious ‘IIM’ tag, which holds a lot of value in the industry.

The choice is completely yours, but I would personally recommend IIM Jammu for an MBA.
