Gargi Nath Posted On : October 18th, 2021
Studied at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry

Yes, it is possible to crack JIPMER in 2 months of preparation but you need to be dedicated. Study systematically and split your time.

You can use one and a half months for learning what you are not sure of, 2 weeks for working out question papers and learning the related theory to the questions.

  • Biology: You should be well versed with NCERT, analyze one chapter daily.
  • Organic Chemistry: Practice all reactions in NCERT.
  • Inorganic Chemistry: Make short notes from NCERT.
  • Physical Chemistry: Work on numericals.
  • Physics: Make your important concepts clear. Spending time on Laws of motion, electrostatics, rotation chapters will be helpful.

Make a note of all formulae. Use the limited time effectively, take breaks in between short bouts of studies.

You need to have good speed. Develop calculation speed by doing more number questions. Don't worry 2 months of effective study can surpass two years of lethargic study. Try to stick to the timetable.

SS
Samiksha Sharma Posted On : November 21st, 2022
MA in Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia (Graduated 2021)

As an undergraduate, you must complete the following tasks:

  • Better 10th and 12th-grade point averages, at least above 80% in both.

  • Maintain your academic focus.

  • Choose a non-engineering subject for your undergraduate studies. It will help your profile.

  • Attempt to score above the 99th percentile on the CAT. If you want, you can do coaching during your undergrad.

  • Enhance your communication and writing abilities. This will be beneficial in WAT and GD/PI. If you want, you can join Toastmasters or start a blog.

  • If you want, try to participate in some extracurricular activities. This will not improve your IIM chances (unless you have a national-level certificate), but it will add some vibrancy to your profile. Activities can range from being a member of a club or placement cell to creating your own YouTube channel.

  • Perform some internships or work as a freelancer on a project. It will provide fodder for conversation in interviews.

To prepare for GMAT, you should start by reviewing the test format and content, and develop a study plan that suits your learning style and schedule. Practice regularly with official GMAT materials and take practice tests to track your progress.

In addition to getting a good GMAT score, you should focus on building your resume. Look for relevant work experience, internships, or volunteering opportunities that align with your career goals. You can also enhance your profile by taking courses or certifications in your field of interest.

It's important to maintain good academic scores as well, especially if you're applying to top business schools. Make sure to prioritize your studies and aim for good grades throughout your academic journey.

Once you have a strong profile, you should work on creating a compelling story of why you want to pursue an MBA. Think about your career aspirations, your values, and how an MBA can help you achieve your goals. Use this story to guide your application materials, including your recommendations, essays, and interview responses.

To secure strong recommendations, choose people who know you well and can speak to your strengths and potential. Provide them with clear guidance on what you want to highlight in your application and give them enough time to write a thoughtful recommendation.

When it comes to writing your essay, be sure to showcase your unique perspective and voice. Use specific examples and anecdotes to illustrate your achievements and experiences. Take the time to revise and edit your essay to ensure that it's well-organized and error-free.

Finally, prepare for your interview by researching the school and the program, and practicing your responses to common interview questions. Dress professionally and be on time for your interview. Remember to be yourself, be confident, and demonstrate your enthusiasm for the program.

DP
Debolina Pathak, Posted On : November 15th, 2021
Masters Business Economics & Human Resource Management, University of Kerala (2015)

As one of my friends was a student at University of Kerala, let me mention some of the facts you should keep in mind during your first year.

  • Stick to the syllabus and thoroughly read it. Mark the ones out of the syllabus, as attempting them can fetch you some marks.
  • Try to take part in extracurricular activities. Join NCC/NSS if you have an option.
  • Always try to be on good terms with the faculty members, as they control the internal exam marks.
  • Accept the fact that results are not published on time.
  • Make sure you have a 90% attendance, as 5 marks are added to your result for it.
  • It is better if you refrain from student politics as they could be very time-consuming and distracting.
  • Do not rely on teachers to complete the syllabus, in the end, you have to study and complete it.

It is recommended that you get your degree from any private university. Though it will cost much, you will get enough exposure to mold your career in shape.

I am a 1st year student of ECE in NIT Jamshedpur. Apart from maintaining good grades what can I do to ensure me a job with salary of 10-14 lakhs p.a?

SS
Saurabh Seth Posted On : September 4th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (2020)

If you are looking for a high-paying package around 10-14 LPA, you need to consider your future perspectives first. As an ECE student here are some career options you can opt for

One should look for a balance between salary and work culture. I will suggest you prepare for the MNC industries of Silicon Valley (Private Core Sector), i.e. Qualcomm, Intel, etc. This is the best choice for an ECE student where you will learn and work with great minds. They offer lucrative packages too. Here is how you can prepare for such companies

To prepare for your interviews, one needs to have deep knowledge of whatever you study for your end-semester examinations.

  • Private Core Sector: This is the most challenging option and the salary package varies from company to company. You will have to work extra hard to excel here.
  • IT sector:  India is one of the biggest hubs of IT industries in the world, and you have immense opportunities in this sector. The salary packages offered by IT companies are also quite good.
  • PSUs:  First you will have to prepare for GATE. The government sector offers excellent packages with many additional benefits but your development rate here is nill. If money is your only concern then this one is for you.
  • Finance/Stock/Management: Go for these options if you have an interest in these fields.
  • Inculcate excellent Programming skills not for just coding jobs but also for learning machine language and the concepts of the origin of coding
  • Master the designing of Analog and Digital circuits
  • Learn the Architecture of Computer, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers.
  • Understand VLSI thoroughly as it is the most important thing to design electronics circuits and is mostly asked in interviews
  • Attend the Robotics workshop and competitions, it will enhance your practical knowledge.
  • Try to get internships/projects related to such fields. You can always check and drop mail into the career section of the company’s website.
  • Maintain good grades because that is how companies shortlist you.

To prepare for your interviews, one needs to have deep knowledge of whatever you study for your end-semester examinations.

What other alternative exams should I keep in mind with my preparation for IPM-IIM Indore?

SS
Souvik Singhal Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Eco hons. from Ramanujan College, Delhi University (2020)

According to my friends studying at IIM Indore, it is suggested that you prepare for the entrance examinations for BBA at various universities, alongside your preparation for IPM-IIM Indore. There are many other options available for this purpose which you can consider.

Following are the colleges and universities offering BBA programs. All of them are recognized among the top institution for business management courses in India

  • DU JAT (Delhi University)
  • St. Xavier's college, Mumbai Entrance Examination (Saint Xavier’s)
  • NMIMS NPAT (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai)
  • JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi)
  • CUET (Christ University, Bangalore)
  • IPU-CET (Guru Gobind Singh IP University, New Delhi
  • MET (Manipal University, Manipal)
  • SET-General (Symbiosis College of management studies, Pune)
  • BUMAT (Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, New Delhi)

The IPM examination and the DU JAT have a significant percentage of high-level mathematics, while the rest of the tests would primarily focus on mathematics from grades 6 to 10.

Keep yourself updated with current affairs for the past 8-9 months while preparing for the DU JAT examination. The level of verbal ability and logical reasoning is the same for all the examinations.
