Which is better at IET Lucknow, ECE or CSE?

DK
Dev Kulkarni Posted On : August 20th, 2021
B.E from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow

CSE is considered a better option than ECE in today’s current scenario and has much better scope and field of work. The scope for CSE broadens with each passing day and with every new invention in the fields of technology and the IT sector. Although ECE is one of the core branches of IET Lucknow still CSE has more demand compared to it.

Following are some drawbacks of the ECE branch at IET Lucknow over CSE:

  • You need a higher percentage of attendance to become eligible for exams. Less attendance leads to deduction of marks.
  • The syllabus is huge for every semester
  • The professors are very strict with the evaluation process and do not give marks easily
  • There are a lot of lab practicals and assignments to complete in a very short period of time.

CSE has a better environment than ECE with no strict attendance regulation. The professors in the CSE department are friendly. The placement of the CSE branch is far better than any other branch in IET Lucknow.

Which is better, IET Lucknow ME or NIT Uttarakhand ECE?

SP
Shubham Pandey Posted On : August 20th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow (2020)

NIT Uttarakhand is the last choice of the majority of students among all other NITs. It has the lowest ranking, poor placement records, and no awards or academic excellence. It is considered a Tier 4 institute.

On the other hand, IET Lucknow is a prestigious institution, especially for engineering students. It is one of the best UPSEE institutes in Lucknow. Moreover, it is considered academically strong and has earned good recognition.

Check the following table for a brief insight on relevant statistics of both institutes:

Particulars IET Lucknow NIT Uttarakhand
Total Fees 3.44 Lakhs 5.87 Lakhs
Highest Package 36 LPA 10.5 LPA
Average Package 5 LPA 6.8 LPA
Total Offers 100+ 90

Generally, ECE is better than ME but it applies to the institutes which are nearly on the same level. In this scenario, pursuing ME from IET Lucknow would be the better option in terms of placements, a recognition that would later help you in finding a job through off-campus placement.

Yes, you can undeniably secure a seat at IET Lucknow. Having said that, you can conveniently reserve a seat in either CS or IT at IET Lucknow. Other than that, you can also try obtaining admission at either of these institutes as well, that is, KNIT Sultanpur or BIET Jhansi.

Here is a detailed cut off list, based on each round, followed by IET Lucknow in the year 2020:

Should I take admission in mechanical at KIIT University, HBTI Kanpur or IET Lucknow?

PA
Prem Arora Posted On : November 15th, 2022
knows a little about Analog circuits

KIIT will take all of your parents' hard-earned money. They will allow your entire batch to sit in some 2 to 4 average companies through campus placement, but if you want to work for any services-based IT company, you can get admission to KIIT. If GATE/IES/PSU is your goal, it is best to study in a college that is close to your home and has lower fees.

HBTI is the best not only in UP but across the country, with an excellent alumni base dating back to 1921. Each year, the best students from UP attend this prestigious institute.

IET is not bad, but when compared to HBTI, it falls short in terms of placements, alumni base, academics, and so on.

Which is best, CSE/ECE at JMI Delhi or IET Lucknow?

SP
Sampriti Poddar Posted On : August 6th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

I would suggest you to go for JMI Delhi. The reason for this is that JMI is very similar to the NITs. The environment and crowd are top-notch. Seniors at Jamia are also very helpful and cooperative.

The professors and other members of the faculty are well-experienced. They even help you plan your career after college. JMI alumni help you out in getting jobs and a decent salary amount.

The table below depicts the placement scenario of JMI and IET:

Categories

JMI Delhi

IET Lucknow

Course Fee

1.49 lakh

3.44 lakh

Highest CTC

28 LPA

25 LPA

Average CTC

15 LPA

12-16 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, HCL, etc.

TCS, DE Shaw, Barclays, Code Nation, etc.

Though it is your decision to make, I still would prefer the fact that you choose JMI Delhi over IET Lucknow, for CSE or ECE. Studying in a well-reputed institution with years of educational experience is much better. This will help in networking as well.

How is the infrastructure of IET Lucknow? Is it a good place to study if I take the CS branch?

DC
Debdut Roy Chowdhury Posted On : August 9th, 2021
Studies ECE at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)

I have a few friends from IET, so I think I can give some information about the institute. Here are some points to consider.

  • The infrastructure is slightly decent, yet not the best.
  • You will also acquire clean and an immaculate hostel facility, alongside incomparable mess food at a very considerable rate in the first year.
  • However, the hostels allotted to students after their first year are not at their best stage. Students generally obtain old hostel rooms, with a certain substandard infrastructure quality. The food quality yet remains the best, irrespective of the year students are in.
  • The lab facilities are not at their best.
  • The faculty is usually exceptional during the first year, but the semesters following that are commonly taken by guest faculties.
  • Most core branch students do not prepare for placements. Students commonly prepare for their SSC, GATE, ESE, and other similar exams during their stay in the institute.
  • In Computer Science, students generally get placed in service-based companies, with a decent average package. However, students who are well prepared secure offers in top firms like Adobe, Amazon, and more. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered to the students is 5 LPA.

Securing admission at IET Lucknow can be a very good choice. It is considered amongst the several top institutes of the country.

What should I choose between IIIT Bhopal, HBTU Kanpur, or IET Lucknow all in the CSE branch?

DD
Disha Das Posted On : March 24th, 2021
Studied at Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow (2019)

Having friends in these institutions, I am well aware that HBTU Kanpur is much better than IIIT Bhopal and IET Lucknow. Though one thing has been seen that the performance of the CSE department is generally the same in all the colleges. They all provide enough industry exposure to the students.

This table might help you in seeing the basic differences between these institutions -

Categories

HBTU Kanpur

IET Lucknow

IIIT Bhopal

Course Fee

5.17 lakh

3.44 lakh

6.68 lakh

Placement Percentage

85-90%

70%

-

Highest CTC

14-20 LPA

7-8 LPA

15 LPA

Average CTC

11 LPA

3-4 LPA

4 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Oyo, Jio, Indiamart, Reliance, Flipkart, Microsoft, etc.

IBM, HCL, Careerwill, Global Logic, etc.

DRDO, Amazon, etc.

It is advised to join HBTU Kanpur or IET Lucknow than IIIT Bhopal, as the former are an older establishment than the latter which is comparatively new. Classes at IIIT Bhopal are scheduled according to MANIT Bhopal. Also the students are provided RGPV hostels. So it will be better if you go for HBTU.
