I got 352 marks in UPTU and I am from OBC category, can I get Lucknow IET?

Yes, you will get into IET but the branch that you get may or may not be any of the core branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, CS, IT, etc.

For the rest of the non-core branches, you can get into it. And hence the final scenario will be quite clear when the rank will be revealed.

Can I get into IET Lucknow with a 6,414 rank in the UPSEE?

HC
Harsh Chandak Posted On : July 26th, 2022
Completed B.Tech from Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow in 2020

It will be difficult to get admission in IET Lucknow with a UPSEE rank of 6,414, especially if you are a general category student.

Each year the required cutoff varies depending on different parameters such as branch, competition, student category, etc. IET Lucknow cutoff is usually high for branches like CSE. During 2021 admission, the closing cutoff for CSE was 47940.

Can I get an admission at IET Lucknow in the ECE branch at 2,400 rank (GNOP category)?

PP
Prateek Pathak Posted On : August 5th, 2021
B.Tech in civil Engg from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow (2017)

It's quite tough to get ECE in the general category with this rank as IET Lucknow is supposed to be the top college after HBTI has become an independent University. Having a few friends from IET Lucknow and read online reviews here are some tips for you.

I would suggest you apply for the Electronics and Instrumentation Branch as well. I also advise you to accept any branch offered in IET, as you'll get a branch change option in the second year if you'll be in the top 3 among your class peers.

Cutoff for B. Tech for the general category (2020) –

Branch Cut off Rank
Electronics and Communication Engineering 193-508
Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering 582-1132

Since there are 3 rounds of counseling available, you should perform well and remain positive.

Which college should I choose for ECE either IPU MAIT or IET Lucknow?

SS
Samita Saha Posted On : July 9th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2020)

One of my friends is studying in ECE in IPU MAIT so I can tell you about this. Here is what he had to say about the branch.

  • If you are a beginner in a coding language then better make a habit of coding on a regular basis. The fact is at MAIT almost all companies visiting for placements are IT companies. If you are not good at coding by any then your chances of getting placed are pretty slim.
  • The academic atmosphere at MAIT is great. But the exam culture of IPU is not so good, because they are always going to test your mugging up ability and not your knowledge. So, this is a minor issue in MAIT.

Here is a comparison of the recent placement statistics for the institutes.

Institute

MAIT

IET Lucknow

Highest CTC

28 LPA

36 LPA

Average CTC

3.50 LPA

4 LPA

Major recruiters

Amazon, ZS Associates, HSBC

DE Shaw & Co, Unacademy, Code Nation

I will suggest that don't run behind colleges. Choose a college in which you are getting your desired branch and study hard and smartly.

What branch can I expect with a general rank of 3,092 in IET Lucknow until the last round of counselling?

RA
Rittika Ahuja Posted On : August 5th, 2021
Studies B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at IET Lucknow (2020)

The rank you secured is somewhat very close to the rank one of my cousins obtained, a few years back. His rank was 3,349 in UPSEE.

Based on my cousin’s experience, I will say, you can expect to be eligible for either Electronics and Instrumentation (EI) or Chemical Engineering if you belong to the general category.

Here is the latest cutoff trend for the institute.

Course Name Open Close
For a 4-Year B.E. or B.Tech. Course
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering 2390 2872
B.Tech in Civil Engineering 1785 2070
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering 201 281
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 930 1118
B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering 670 767
B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering 1379 1903
B.Tech in Information Technology 414 518
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering 1378 1715

Hope this clears your doubts.

Which college has a better coding culture, MMM Gorakhpur or IET Lucknow?

NC
Nikita Chaturvedi Posted On : September 14th, 2022
B.Tech from Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida

MMMUT Gorakhpur has a better coding culture compared to IET Lucknow. On campus, you will find many people who actively take part in competitive coding. The alumni of the institute have a good performance record in most of the competitive coding forums. If you are interested in coding, you will get guidance from your seniors.

MMMUT also offers decent facilities and resources to support and encourage the growing coding culture on campus.

What is the placement scenario of the EE branch in IET Lucknow?

CB
Chaity Basu Posted On : August 2nd, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering at Institute of Engineering and Technology

ET Lucknow is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It is considered one of the tier 3 engineering colleges in the state and most of the students from the institute pass out with an average salary of INR 3 – 4 lakhs per annum to work as clerks in service-based companies which cannot be termed great in any sense.

Electrical Engineering as a discipline is also very dead and there will be very few core companies who will offer jobs.

The skills demanded by the industry are not being supplied by the students and thus placements are lower. If the colleges start implementing changes and upskill their students the situation will definitely improve. But as it stands today, the placements are grim.
