HS
Harpreet Saini Posted On : June 8th, 2021
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at Manav Rachna University

TAPMI is a great option to do MBA as it provides a good environment and decent exposers. Following are some points why you should do an MBA from TAPMI.

  • Faculty- TAPMI has a great faculty base. The staff here are experienced and have a lot of knowledge in the particular field.
  • Placement- When it comes to placement, it has maintained the 100% placement mark for more than 15 years. You will definitely get placement opportunities. But, where you get placed totally depends on you. The average and highest package is 11 LPA and 25 LPA respectively.
  • Student Committees- There are many committees to choose from. But don’t worry if you don’t get into any. It will not affect your placements.
  • Life at Manipal- You will have the best experience outside the studies in Manipal. It has many places where you can hang out with friends like eateries, bars, pubs, sports complexes, etc. Life at Manipal is great.
  • Rules and regulations- Rules are very strict and any type of violation of rules can lead to suspension or penalty depending upon the intensity of violation. 100% attendance is mandatory here. If you are living in a hostel, there is no chance to go home for your cousin's wedding, or nephew’s baptism ceremony.

In addition to all these points, I would like to say that although it is a great place for study, your attitude towards things matters a lot. Overall you will end up with a lot of memories, and good friends.

Can I do only a BBA from IIM Indore and then join IIM Ahmedabad for an MBA?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : August 18th, 2023

IIM Ahmedabad or any other IIM does not consider the type of college the candidate belonged to as eligibility criteria. So rest your worries and apply for MBA in your dream college even if your undergrad BBA college was a less reputed one. Regarding your undergraduate college, the only criteria are the minimum marks for appearing for the CAT exam i.e. 50%. All you need to do is get an excellent CAT score.

To get admission to any IIM, you need to focus on things like CAT score, 10th, 12th, Bachelor grade. The school and colleges from where you acquired your education do not matter at all. What matters is that your academic profile should reflect your excellent scores and involvement in extracurricular activities

So, appear for CAT, aim a 98.5+ percentile, and get admission to IIM Ahmedabad. What’s stopping you?

Have heard the 1 year MBA program at ISB Hyderabad is very rigorous. What would be the passing criteria and are there people who fail?

The ISB routine is rigorous, with a heavy workload and limited time to complete it. You will have class quizzes every week and exams every fortnight, in addition to other extracurricular activities and assignments. However, once you become accustomed to it, you may find that you enjoy the challenge.

It is important to have decent academic skills, as evidenced by a GMAT score in the range of 600 to 770, but it is also important to note that your performance in class quizzes, assignments, and other activities also plays a role in determining your grade. If you are considering applying to ISB, it is important to focus on your application and not let the rigorous routine discourage you.

Does EY GDS offer an MBA at ISB Hyderabad?

PG
Pramit Ganguly Posted On : January 30th, 2023
MBA in Finance and Strategy, Indian School of Business (Graduated 2016)

Yes, EY GDS does offer an MBA at ISB Hyderabad. But if we talk about its worth, it’s a debatable issue. My friend has been with the firm for nearly 2 months and has a lot to say about the course. Some major pros and cons below will help you make a wiser decision

Pros

  • You get to interact with geniuses and gain excellent experience.
  • You are a way ahead of your peers and get a spike in promotion

Cons

  • The course is generally taken up by girls who want to postpone their marriage on the pretext that they are still studying or boys who have no clue what to pursue. So the peer group is of substandard quality.
  • EY has recently made changes to the course and customized it to suit one’s needs. This sort, of course, is not worth the hype.
  • Campus life is extremely hectic as you have to manage your course assignments alongside working on EY client engagements.
  • The course has hefty fees

Make your decision after weighing the pros and cons only.

Who offers a better MBA distance learning course - IMT Ghaziabad or NMIMS?

YA
Yash Arora Posted On : February 16th, 2023
Team Leader, Admission & Career Counselor

When comparing two top business schools, such as IMT Ghaziabad and NMIMS, it is important to consider various factors that may impact an individual's decision in choosing the right institution. Both IMT Ghaziabad and NMIMS are considered to be highly reputable business schools in India, known for their strong academic programs and commitment to providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the corporate world.

One key factor to consider when comparing these two institutions is their course structure. Both IMT Ghaziabad and NMIMS may have different approaches to delivering business education, and it is important to research and understand the curriculum, teaching methods, and course offerings of each institution to determine which one aligns better with your learning style and career goals.

Another important factor to consider is the fee structure. Both IMT Ghaziabad and NMIMS may have different tuition fees, and it is important to research and compare the costs of each institution to ensure that you are able to afford the program and that it fits within your budget.

It is also crucial to take into account the flexibility and convenience of the program, especially for working professionals who are looking to pursue higher education while maintaining their current job. One of the universities may offer a more flexible course structure that allows students to balance their job responsibilities with their studies.

Ultimately, the decision of which institution to attend should be based on an individual's personal career goals, aspirations, and current circumstances. It is important to research both institutions thoroughly, speak with current students or alumni, and carefully consider all factors before making a decision.

Shikha Jha Posted On : February 21st, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Indore (2020)

JBIMS MSc Finance focuses on Finance and placements in the same field and very few sales roles whereas MBA is a traditional business administration course wherein the first year has common electives and for the second year you have to select among Marketing - Finance, Operations (rare), HR(rare), IT (extremely rare).

Similarities:

Faculty: JBIMS is well known for its world-class Finance faculty and both courses are taught by almost the same faculty.

What is the placement package for an MBA in Pondicherry University?

PS
Pratika Sharma Posted On : September 28th, 2021
MBA (HRM) at Pondicherry University (PU)

I have a few friends from Pondicherry University, and according to them, for Insurance Management, the average salary package offered is around INR 5 LPA. The placement percentage is 94%.

Here is a brief overview of the current placement statistics of Pondicherry University.

Highest Salary Package INR 10.20 LPA
Average Salary Package INR 3-4 LPA
Top Recruiting Companies  TCS, Syntel, CTS, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, HSBC, ICICI

But for MBA tourism, the package is relatively lower than anticipated. However, the placement percentage touches the 100% mark in contrast to other branches. For other MBA branches, the salary package is considerably low as well, amounting to around INR 5 LPA or INR 6 LPA.

Why are Delhi School of Economics and other better ROI colleges like JBIMS and many more for an MBA not as popular as FMS?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 10th, 2023
Studied at Delhi School of Economics

Here are some of the reasons that should be mentioned:

  • DSE MBA was founded in 1986, whereas FMS was founded in 1954.
  • An older institute has more alumni to leverage for placements and thus more alumni to build credibility in the institute branding.
  • Until 2015, DSE offered a "Master" degree in HR/OD and IB, titled Master of Organization Development and Human Resources and Master of International Business. Two things stand out: i) HR/OD and IB are niche areas to enter in comparison to an MBA-Fin and MBA-Marketing. ii) A MHROD/MIB has lower popularity than an MBA.
  • FMS has significantly more industry exposure than DSE, owing primarily to alumni/family of alumni/friends of alumni.
  • Quality of Faculty: Though both FMS and DSE are run by DU, what DU lacks in academic-focused faculty is more than made up for in FMS, which has regular mandatory industry guest lecturers.
  • The higher cut-off in FMS (relative to DSE) year after year ensures (though is not guaranteed) a certain quality benchmark of students coming in, leading to increased competition and peer learning. Something DSE could think about.

What percentage of the total batch of MBAs at IIM Lucknow go for a foreign semester exchange in their second year?

RR
Rajnikant Rajan Posted On : January 16th, 2023
Dreamer, believer, lucky, high achiever in the future.

Typically, 50-60 students from a batch of about 450 at IIM Lucknow go abroad for an exchange term. At IIM Lucknow, it's known as the Student Exchange Program, or simply Stex. IIM L does not have affiliations with many prestigious business schools around the world. It has no affiliations with any schools in North America, with the exception of one or two in Canada. The majority of the schools with which it has collaborations are of average or poor quality in Europe.

So, either you should have a stellar profile, including your GPA in your first year at IIML, to get into a good school for Stex, or you should consider going to Stex for a three-month Europe tour with a complimentary term abroad to bring back some credits after you are done vacationing in Europe. If you're looking for good exchange programs, you should probably look into better B-schools in India like IIM A, B, C, or ISB.
