My friend completed his BCA lateral entry from Lovely Professional University (LPU) and through his experience, I can confirm that it is one of the best colleges in India for BCA, whether it is a general program or lateral entry. As a recent pass out of Lovely Professional University (LPU), I can confirm that LPU offers direct admission to some of its courses. There is a specific eligibility and admission criteria set for each course from the university. Candidates are required to follow the specific guidelines to get admission. 

To secure direct admission, candidates are required to secure a specific percentage in class 12. For example, BPA admission requires candidates to possess 50% marks in class 12. The main reason for the difference in placements numbers of the New IIMs and the Baby IIMs is recognition in the industry. It's obvious that older and more established IIMs will have a better industry connection, better alumni strength and more experience in attracting quality roles. If you look at the average salary stats for new IIMs, it was over 19 lacs for all 6 2nd generation IIMs and over 16 lacs for the baby IIMs for the batch of 2023.
