Can I prepare for IIM Indore IPM in 10 months?

JA
Jiya Agarwal Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
MBA in Marketing & Human Resource Management, T. A. Pai Management Institute (2019)

Yes, the IPM IIM Indore entrance exam can be prepared in 10 months. Some of my friends who joined IIM Indore and opted for IPM prepared for the exam in only 9-10 months.

Although, your level of participation could not be measured in months, but can be determined by the number of hours you put in each day. Many students used to enroll in the course for the year and then choose to drop out. But on the other hand students who are from crash courses are seen to reach their goal.

All in all, concentrate on your studies. Make a proper strategy by selecting the topics which are your strengths and weaknesses and solve them accordingly. Learn time management as this will be very beneficial. Finally, you can also look for a mentor to guide you through the process.

How Should I prepare for IPM -IIM Indore in 1 year along with 12 CBSE Boards prepration?

SR
Sukriti Radhakrishnan Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Studied at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (2019)

This is a tough question but let me provide you with some suggestions which you may find useful. Having to know a lot of people from IIM Indore, I can share the information I acquired from them.

  • Prepare thoroughly for your CBSE boards. You need to do well in these exams.
  • Both IIT-JEE and IPM-IIM Indore can be given another time also if required.
  • You need to decide what you want to do.
  • If you choose JEE, you are then going ahead with a technical career.
  • If you opt for IPM, it will be completely different as it will focus on management.
  • The IPM course is a 5 year integrated course. It used to be a diploma degree but has now transitioned to a degree course.

So, the first thing you need to do is decide which path you want to go. If your mind is scattered all over the place, you might make a mistake.

A lot of people choose Engineering+MBA. It is very much popular among students. But if you intend to do an MBA, then do not go for IPM. You can complete your 4 years of B.Tech or BE graduation. This will save 1 year. Then you can prepare for the CAT and opt for a normal MBA.

Bethune College is one of the renowned colleges in West Bengal. As you have opted for B.Sc Economics One of my friends also studied at Bethune College, so I might be able to provide some tips about this:

  • Buy a last 5-year question or CBCS system previous year’s question as soon as possible.
  • Calcutta University tends to give the same question in an odd-even-year system. Solve those papers and prepare accordingly as 60% of the questions will be similar.
  • Make sure you utilize the profit of the online exam system. You can score 15-20% extra than offline exams.
  • After the regular college classes if you need extra guidance to go for a coaching centre suggested by your seniors.
  • Keep in touch with your seniors frequently, as they can guide you through a lot of things.

Lastly, as Bethune is a very strict college, try to enjoy your college life, maintain a good relationship with your teachers and work hard and study well to make a successful career.

How can I prepare for the GATE exam with the EC branch? I'm in the first year at LNCT, Bhopal.

SM
Swapnil Mehta Posted On : September 20th, 2021
Studied at Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Bhopal

GATE exam is a tough nut to crack. Around 8 lakh candidates apply every year for the exam to secure a seat in top IITs for a master’s degree or getting into PSUs.

If you are targeting the exam, it will be early to join coaching classes. As you are currently in your first year, it will be better to start focusing, reading, and learning about the core subjects in graduation. It will give you conceptual clarity. Also, the preparation will help you in placements too.

You can also refer to the following reference books during preparation:

Topics Author/Books
Control Systems B.S Manke or M.Gopal
Digital Electronics Morris Mano
Signal System Sanjay Sharma (Basic Concepts)
Network Theory William H Hayt
Electromagnetic Theory Matthew Sadiku
Communication Singh and Spare

You can read these books as per the topics in each semester. Make notes thoroughly and solve previous years’ papers. Join test series at various coachings and try to solve as many problems as you can from different sources.

There is no better hack to crack the GATE exam for now. Overall, you will have to plan your day well in advance and follow the routine strictly because the time after college is a bare minimum.

Once you are selected you can enjoy the theater workshop and join Sunday Club part-1 later. Only people who have done the workshop, audition for it. How do I prepare for IIM, Indore IPM on my drop year?

TR
Tirtha Raj Posted On : August 28th, 2021
B. E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University (2019)

It is preferable if you enroll in any educational coaching institution because you are taking a drop year, especially for IPM preparation. This is because for IPM, students have to give a PI and an Aptitude Test.

  • The classes would be well-versed in giving CAT and IPMAT foundation courses which can be considered an additional benefit.
  • Also, you will not be familiar with the format of IPMAT unless you attempt a mock test before the final exam.
  • IPMAT is online, there won't be any previous year question bank, therefore the mock tests will offer you an advantage and also assist you for the PI round involved in the selection process.
  • For the Quantitative aptitude section, I would suggest that you refer to NCERT questions (Classes 11th and 12th) and several competitive examinations questions..
  • For the verbal aptitude test, You should focus on improving your basic grammar, reading books, and improving your vocabulary.

Lastly, as I have seen my friends prepare and do well in exams, I will encourage you to do the same. Be confident while giving your answers and attend the PI with complete honesty.
