Is Goa Institute of Management good for a PGDM in operations?
One of my friends is majoring in HR but has opted for numerous positions in IT Operations. According to her, the course is very well designed and is industry relevant. Speaking specifically about Operations, the electives under it are directly related to the industry such as
- Business Analysis
- Big Data Analytics (now a specialization in itself at GIM)
- Project Management
- Supply Chain Management
The pedagogy comprises a case-based approach with special emphasis on recent trends in each specialization. The faculty is very experienced and has had enough exposure to the corporate world. On average, around 30-40 students specialize in Operation every year at GIM. The most common roles offered to students who are specialized in Operations are
- Business Analyst
- Consultant
- Project Manager
So Goa Institute of Management is a very good option for PGDM in Operations.
What should I choose: instrumentation and control at NIT Jalandhar or Thapar CSE interested in coding?
First and foremost, make certain that you are truly interested in coding. Consider whether you truly enjoy coding or if you are simply looking for a high-paying job. It's preferable if you've previously attempted coding.
The most important aspect of BTech is that it is dependent on you rather than the college. The institute only provides you with resources. You should take advantage of it.

Now if we compare the fees for one year with the average package, you earn more in just one year. This talks of a high ROI. This program can be preferred over other programs mainly because of the higher ROI it offers than because of relatively lower fees.
Which is best: CSE IN THAPAR UNIVERSITY, ECE IN PEC, OR CSE IN NIT JALANDHAR?
Plenty of coders on top competitive coding platforms are students of NIT Jalandhar. This points towards a good coding culture at NITJ. Moreover, the fee at NITs is much less than PEC or Thapar University.
Though the placement at PEC is good overall, it receives less offers from the core ECE companies. Thapar has its own list of top companies that prioritize it over other colleges. But I do not know much about their CSE department.
Thus, I would recommend NIT Jalandhar CSE over the other two options. But if you want to choose between PEC ECE and Thapar CSE, I would recommend you make the selection based on your subject interest.

Both ECE at IIT Guwahati and CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar are great options for you. However, the choice majorly depends on your personal choice and your career perspectives. I don’t have much idea about IIT Guwahati but I can guide you about CSE in IIT Bhubaneswar.
- The CSE branch at IIT Bhubaneswar offers excellent education curriculums that help you be prepared theoretically and practically.
- IIT Bhubaneswar offers excellent placement for the CSE branch with 100% of students being placed in the placement drive, with the highest package being INR 55.75 LPA, the median package being INR 20.31 LPA and the average being 20.18 LPA in 2023.
- Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and more recruit students from IIT Bhubaneswar.
How is the Executive Advanced General Management Programme (1 year) at IIM Lucknow? What are the opportunities?
Rather than inquiring about the worth of a course, one should analyze whether the course is suitable for them or not. Your preference should be a priority not the worth of the course.
That being said, Executive MBA programs are suitable for
- professionals with considerable experience (+10 years) , who are also managing a large team
- people in the consulting industry
If you don’t belong to any of these 2 categories, then the course is of no real value for you. This is because this program is far sighted and focuses on managerial elements like Organization and Strategies. Unless you are a consultant or a top manager this knowledge will be of little use. So go for it once you belong to one of the two categories only.
How can you compare ISB’s CBA vs IIM Bangalore’s BAI courses?
Both ISB’s CBA and IIM Bangalore’s BAI are vastly different from one another. The following are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both. CBA at ISB:

- Although IIM promotes this as an executive course, it is more appropriate to take it offline because concepts are difficult to grasp online.
Is it worth paying almost 20 lakhs for the big data analytics program at Goa Institute of Management?
My friend is currently pursuing a GIM PGDM BDA course and feels that the course is totally worth the fees he spent. The course is becoming a very coveted one because of the increasing demand for data analysts and scientists. Nowadays the Big Data industry is in full swing and is in great demand.
