Is it worth spending around 12 lakhs for BALLB in Nirma University?

AB
Akansha Bajaj Posted On : May 15th, 2021
Studied B.A. in L.L.B. from Nirma University, graduated in 2020

The answer depends on you entirely. You can give Nirma University a slip if you are getting offers from NLUs. But if you are not getting the top NLUs, Nirma University is one of the best private universities out there.

Nirma University promises to give the students better placements than some of the lower-tier NLUs. Nirma University is high on discipline and most of its students dislike this about the university.

What you should remember is that there is not much difference between how much you will pay if you end up studying in an NLU, and how much you will pay if you study at Nirma University in five years.

Nirma University is not as popular in the area of law as the top-tier NLUs even though it is pretty popular if we consider private institutes. If you have the skills and knowledge appropriate for placement, you will be placed at Nirma University. But getting good placements depends a lot on how much effort you put in.

If you work hard, 12 lakhs will definitely be worth it.

Is the ECE department good at Nirma University? Why?

NV
Neha Verma Posted On : May 17th, 2021
Studied at Institute Of Technology, Nirma University

Nirma University is a good choice for pursuing an ECE program. I think I can give you some insight into the ECE department as I know a few people from the institute.

  • Talking about the ECE department of the college, this department has got very good faculties and you will get ample opportunities to work on various projects with them.
  • You are not supposed to carry hardware kits home but you can use the college’s hardware kits but they have a restricted usage policy.
  • You will get the opportunity to visit various industries for learning purposes during your stay at the college.
  • Some expert faculties who belong to different industries come here to deliver lectures that will be useful for you.
  • The college also has good placement records; companies like Analog devices, Samsung & free scale have visited the campus earlier.
  • The highest package received by the university is 16 LPA while the average package is 8 LPA.

The negative aspects of the college that you will find seniors and students complaining about the college. You will have to ignore them. As you might get fewer facilities, not very great infrastructure and fewer faculties, the college is not as bad.

What is the placement scenario at the Nirma University for electrical engineers? Should I prefer it over SRM computer science?

OK
Oli Kundu Posted On : May 15th, 2021
Nirma University

Electrical and Computer science is very different from each other and they have very few things similar to each other.

  • In electrical engineering, the course module includes a lot of physics and classical and applied maths, but in computer science, the course module includes discrete and applied maths and there is no part of physics.
  • In electrical engineering, there are a lot of theoretical studies of maths and physics but in computer science, there are mostly logical studies and coding. Although at the advanced level, these two branches do marge a bit, they are completely different for beginners.

Here’s a brief overview of the two courses mentioned in the question.

Parameters

EE at Nirma University

CS at SRM

Average CTC

6 LPA

6-8 LPA

Highest CTC

8 LPA

28 LPA

So, you should choose the branch according to your skills and knowledge, rather than choosing a branch, based only on placements. Otherwise, you may have to opt for branch change after 1st year.

What are the approximate hostel charges for first year students at hostels near Nirma University?

AG
Aritra Ghose Posted On : May 17th, 2021
B.Tech CSE, Nirma University

I have a friend studying at Nirma University and he gave some information about the hostel accommodation near the institute. If you are planning to be in a hostel there are a few near the university.

Hiramani hostel:

  • The hostel fees are around 50000 to 80000. It depends on which type of room and no of persons in a room.
  • Almost everything is included in the fee. You get food but for that, you have to pay and the food is not up to mark. My friend stayed in the hostel and he used to take breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Nirma. NIM canteen provides good food options. It will cost 70rs. For lunch and dinner.
  • So, if you live in Hiramani you will have to spend approximately 200 Rs daily on food, which sums up to 6000 per month.

Nirma Hostel:

  • As per the schedule, you will be staying for 8-9 months in the hostel and the rest of the time at home. Food cost is around 54000. And total fees if you live in AC 2 sharing room is 65000+54000 = 119000.
  • The rooms are great and there are fewer rules.

SGVP:

  • At SGVP, you will have to follow many rules, like waking up at 5:00 am, which is tough for engineering students.
  • Fees: 80000 ac per sem
  • It includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner but there are no laundry facilities. The rooms are good. Food facilities are also decent.

There are many other options too, like Sandipini, but my friend claims Hiramani is best.

Which is better: Nirma IT or DDIT (DDU Nadiad) for CE (self-finance)?

ST
Shivam Thakkar Posted On : March 28th, 2022
B.Tech from Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (2017)

Nirma University IT is a better option. The reasons are course curriculum, the teaching methodology used, and faculty. The seniors of the institute are also quite helpful.

Nirma University offers the best infrastructure among all other colleges in Gujarat. Some of the major recruiters for the branch are Cognizant, Motorola, Samsung, Wipro, etc. Students of Nirma usually get an average CTC of around INR 10 LPA.

Which is better for an MBA - Nirma or LBSIM in Delhi?

KS
Krishna Srivastav Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
Studied at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, New Delhi

The choice here ultimately comes down to your interest. First, decide whether you are interested in pursuing specialized MBA courses like MBA in finance or are you more inclined towards MBA general where you can opt for a specialization in your second year.

I have some friends at LBSIM Delhi. So, can give you some insight into the institute.

Specializations: You will be having a variety of specializations to choose from if you go for LIBSIM. You will get an enormous amount of exposure in terms of corporate, guest lecturers, meet-ups with major industrialists if you opt for this B-School.

Location: When it comes to location, there is an advantage too, located in Delhi which is India's capital and surrounded by two major industrial hubs, Gurgaon and Noida.

Alumni Base: Alumni base of LIBSIM is strong and the institute has maintained an amazing placement record as well.

2021 Placements

Average CTC

9.2 LPA

Highest CTC

32 LPA

No of recruiters

80+

Major recruiters

Classplus, Microsoft, Capgemini

Other B-Schools in India ranging equal in terms of ranking like Nirma fail to meet up the expectations of students as LIBSIM has set the bar too high.

How good is studying IC from Nirma University?

SR
Shriya Rathod Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied at Nirma University (2019)

One of my friends studied at the IT branch but has little idea about the IC branch. But, when compared to DAIICT, Nirma University is the best place to study if you have firmly established goals and would like to work for them.

  • The management is really good but it is a strict college that might give few school vibes.
  • At Nirma, you will learn a lot about discipline, good manners, and management while having a good college life and a great career if you are not planning to do your Masters in foreign universities.
  • They have a diverse student population.
  • If you can afford the fee at Nirma University, my advice to you would be to go ahead and secure your seat.

Every year, the mentality of students changes and it could be possible that you could get in with luck and if they consider your case. You will probably come to know if you got in in the third round.

If you are a student from Gujarat, you should also try applying for the last round in ACPC. Though it is for some courses, this could also play in your favor.

Are clubs like Rotract, ISTE, ISA destroying the student and academic environment of Nirma University?

BS
Bhomit Sinha Posted On : July 1st, 2021
Studied at Nirma University

If you are in any of the clubs, you have to be constantly present in the activities. You must have a group of friends in the club and if you don't have any partner then it does not work.

You will witness club politics and it becomes a necessary factor to run the club. For social attention, you need to be a celeb in the club as it increases your contracts.

You must take your club as your priority and give time to everyone. It will affect your studies because of the great extent of involvement in the clubs. It will become difficult to balance it

Everyone has their own decisions about what they want to choose and the most basic principle is Survival of the fittest. But it's better to give time to your studies otherwise it will ruin your studies and doing it with engineering is a risk.
