How is the placement of MNIT Jaipur in the CSE branch?

Sabeer Chalana Posted On : October 9th, 2023

MNIT Jaipur CSE branch has the best placement records among other branches. Last year maximum number of students around 98 were placed from the CSE branch alone. The figures keep rising.

Although the institute does not release any official data, I asked a friend at MNIT Jaipur for the same. As per the information I got from him,

  • Almost 98 students got placed
  • The highest salary package offered by Apple was INR 64 LPA.
  • The lowest salary package offered was INR 6.75 LPA.
  • Top recruiting companies were Apple, Amazon, Flipkart, Adobe, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, etc

Hope you get a clear idea of the placement scenario of the CSE branch at MNIT Jaipur.

Is it easy to score 95%+ at Presidency University, Bangalore for a BTech in CSE in all semesters and also do many projects, competitions, hackathons, internships, research publications, and startups?

In terms of percentile, you can surely score 99%+. There will always be a conventional topper from every batch even if everyone performs poorly in their academics.

  • You will find many students securing a 10/10 CGPA from good institutes as they follow relative grading.
  • If someone secures 60/150 while most of their classmates are struggling to score even 30, the professor could decide to give them an ‘A’ which is not even similar to scoring 100% marks.
  • But, in absolute terms, no, you can’t imagine someone scoring about 95% in almost every semester they appeared as it will directly imply the college holds a very low bar for evaluation.

The Presidency University, Bangalore gives marks for showing up and just for filling up the pages in exams. Thus it is not such a big problem.

Which college is better for CSE: IET DAVV, Indore or SGSITS, Indore?

SS
Sreemona Sengupta Posted On : April 21st, 2021
B.E. from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (2020)

Both of them are very good colleges and are recognized and reputed colleges of our country, but there are certain aspects which make them different from each other and in this scenario, CSE at SGSITS will be much better than at IET DAVV. Here are the reasons.

  • Faculty: The faculty of SGSITS is very talented and experienced, and all of them have done PhD from IITs and IISC. This can be considered a big achievement and can be one of the major reasons to join SGSITS.
  • Campus Life: The campus life of SGSITS is very good and the technical fest is amazing. But the cultural fest of IET DAVV is very good too.
  • Placements: The placements of SGSITS are very good as its alumni network is very good which has resulted in good placements every year. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft, Deloitte, TCS, and many other top companies visit the campus every year and recruit many students. And the highest number of students recruited are from the CSE branch.
  • Brand Value: As SGSITS is a very old institute and has produced remarkable results over the years, it is widely recognized by people and holds great value in the corporate world which can be much beneficial for your career, in securing higher packages.

Overall, it is safe to say that SGSIT is a better alternative.

What should be my strategy towards study for branch change from mining to CSE at IIT BHU?

RS
Rohit Saha Posted On : June 15th, 2023
IIT BHU (2019)
  • Every IIT has that handful of students who took up an average branch under the pretext of changing their branch in the future. If you are one of them and are seeking guidance in the same, this answer is for you. I won't mention any complex strategies and will stick to the basics
  • Attend your classes: Many IITians underestimate lectures and tend to either skip them or pay no attention during classes. Trust me attending classes makes a whole lot of difference that can be felt during exams.
  • Go to Tutorials: Students consider this childish and don't go to tutorials considering them useless. However, this will bring a big change too.
  • Revise regularly: Lastly, whatever you study, revise it regularly or your efforts will go in vain.

Many seniors may advise you that grades aren't that important, don't pay heed to them. Grades are very crucial for a branch manager don't let them make you believe otherwise. Lastly, be sincere towards your goal and stay committed to it.

Does every student at NIT in the CSE branch get a placement of more than 20 lakhs, specifically at MNNIT Allahabad?

RS
Rishav Sinha Posted On : November 28th, 2023
Studied at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad

You must be unaware of the ground reality of college placements.

No institute can guarantee a certain package to its graduating students. Let alone NITs, even the best CSE colleges (IIITH, IITB, etc.) can not guarantee anything during placement season. 20 Lakhs is a big amount in India, and even the best CS colleges don’t have an average package of 20 LPA (rather the figure is around 8-10 LPA). Very few students get a package close to 20 LPA.

Do not get confused by the average package of premier institutes, as many of them convert international offers into Indian Rupees while making those calculations. Doing so makes the average package very high. These packages look high, but are very basic in relation to the living cost of the respective foreign cities. The same logic applies to MNNIT Allahabad, or any other NIT.

Instead of focusing on the placement figures, choose a college with a good environment and high growth opportunities. MNNIT is a good choice for CSE, and it has a good record overall.

Which is better: IIT Guwahati mathematics and computing or ECE?

PP
Pranay Pednekar Posted On : May 4th, 2023
Studied at IIT Guwahati

I am assuming you have no specific interests and are looking for a branch that offers good job opportunities. In that case, Maths and Computing at IIT Guwahati is best. With the unique blend of Mathematical concepts and CS concepts, this program has become one of the most coveted ones only second to CSE. Indeed, MnC has an immense workload and is considered difficult but so is ECE. However, if you are not interested in Maths at all, and are a research enthusiast, Electronics is better than MnC. Electronics will give you an opportunity to explore both IT and hardware industries. However, it’s very difficult to secure internships in CE than MnC and this might demotivate you a bit.

Concludingly I would like to comment that MnC is a good option in the short run while ECE will prove to be beneficial in the long run.

IIT Indore CSE is a well-established branch and the program is rigorous with numerous opportunities. It's the backbone of the institute especially because of the rich coding culture it promotes. Here are a few pros and cons to make you understand the program better

Pros:

  1. IIT Indore CSE has highly qualified faculty that are amongst the most experienced in India.
  2. The institute is well known for its rich coding culture and the ACM ICPC achievements are a source of motivation for many.
  3. Being a part of the IT family, it definitely does well in the infrastructure aspect.
  4. IIT Indore provides excellent opportunities to its students and many are able to make it into Ivy League Universities.
  5. IIT Indore provides excellent undergraduate research opportunities and has many foreign collaborations.
  6. IIT Indore CSE placements are great and during 2022 placements the CSE branch managed to secure 100% placements with the highest CTC of BTech at INR 48.5 LPA and the average at INR 30.32 LPA

Cons:

  1. IIT Indore has a small batch size meaning you have fewer geniuses around you.
  2. The small batch size makes it harder to develop an all-around coding culture.

In all, IIT Indore CSE is a great branch and should be considered a good option.

How is Thapar University for CSE?

SR
Snigdha Roy Posted On : August 7th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Thapar University offers BE in Computer Engineering (COE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). According to some of my friends studying there, COE is a better course than CSE. So, I would be sharing some facts about COE, which might be helpful for you.

  • The highest package a COE student has received until this point ranged at 39 LPA.
  • The average package stood at around 10 to 11 LPA.
  • However, you have to master the course and the technical domains that you are pursuing, without which you cannot secure good placement offers.
  • In a nutshell, the average salary package in every department is around INR 6 LPA - INR 7 LPA. So for COE, it is better.
  • You will sit in the placement drive alongside the 4th year students.
  • If you can ace the interview session, even if the package is slightly lower than usual, then you will have the open option to secure a good position later in your career.
Categories COE at Thapar University
Course Fee 13.23 lakh
Highest CTC 28 LPA
Average CTC 10-11 LPA
Recruiting Companies Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, IBM, Wipro, etc.

Having said that, the placement percentage at Thapar University usually ranges up to 100% for the COE department. That means, the placement offer is not a very big issue when considered separately. However, in terms of the package, the offer ranging from INR 14 LPA to INR 15 LPA is extremely difficult. Most essentially, you will have to master the technical domain.

What is management quota fees in Haldia Institute Technology for CSE?

SR
Shrayashee Roy Posted On : September 15th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering ,Haldia Institute of Technology (2019)

Information regarding management quota fees is not disclosed by the institute. However, according to some of my friends who acquired admissions in the institute through it, the fees of management quota are around 2 lacs- 2.5 lacs.

The management quota fees are dependent on your negotiator, agent, consultant too. The above-mentioned amount does not include the hostel fees. It is at the time of college fees payment that the students are required to pay the hostel fees. You should consult with your seniors as they have a better knowledge regarding such matters. Although they would suggest that it would be a waste of money.

If you are interested in software, only then you should take admission at Bangalore. A few esteemed software companies such as Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit for the recruitment process.

The chemical branch at the institute is terrific. You should look into this course once as well. Your decision is concerned with building your career therefore make sure you opt for a course that would not make you have regrets later.
