- BITS Pilani coding culture can be compared to most NITs.
- The mess is student-driven so you can input your demands easily.
- The professors are highly qualified with an excellent knack for teaching. The Institute does not promote rote learning in any way.
- Another great feature of BITS Pilani is the practice school wherein you will be working as an intern in big companies.
- BITS Pilani’s superior infrastructure is also what makes it better than NITs.
- The top-notch educated combined with the exposure offered results in better placements than most NITs
However, the answer is not for top NITs. Top NITs like Tricy will any day stand better than BITS.
How are hostels in IIIT Jabalpur?
IIIT Jabalpur hostels are good. Its rooms are just like any other private college. They are not like other Government college’s hostels.
IIIT Jabalpur has 3 hostels, Hall of residence 1, Hall of residence 3, and Hall of residence 4.
- Rooms: There are 1 seat, 3 seaters, and 4 seaters room. The rooms of hostels are spacious and big. Hostels do not have a/c facility in their room. There are beds for every single person. Each student also allotted wardrobes for keeping their personal belongings. All the rooms also have Wi-fi facilities with good bandwidth.
- Canteens: The hostels also have a canteen facility that runs till midnight.
- Restrictions: There are no strict restrictions on timing.
- Hygiene and Cleanness: The hygiene and cleanses of the rooms are good. Cleaner comes to clean and mopped the room. These charges are included in the hostel fees.
- Mess: The hostel has a mess facility. But students mostly don’t depend on the mess food. There are Nescafe, Subway, and other eateries outside the campus.
- Sports facility: The hostel has a Student Activity Centre known as SAC, where there is a cricket ground, basketball, and volleyball court. Along with that it also has an indoor sports facility. So if you are a sports enthusiast, you will surely have a great time here.
Therefore, if you are thinking of joining IIIT Jabalpur, then surely apply for its hostel. It has a great hostel facility, which is also in good condition.
Which is better: LBSIM or GIM?
One of my friends studied in LBSIM. According to him, when it comes to the courses in LBSIM, it comprises 2 courses, namely, PGDM General and PGDM Finance.
- Considering PGDM General, the dual specialization subjects include Operations, Finance, HR, Systems and Marketing which could be selected after 1 year.
- Considering PGDM Finance, the subjects for dual specialization include Investment Management, Strategic Accounting and Control, Treasury Management, and Risk Management. These can be selected after 1 year of completion.
- This depicts that the Institute offers a lot of subjects to choose from for the specialization.
- The Institute is quite good in terms of alumni and placements also.

The other advantages of the Institute include guest lectures, the location being Delhi, the Capital of the country with Noida and Gurgaon as the working sectors give a lot of job opportunities.

I am a second year Chemical Engineering student at IIT Roorkee. Both IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU offer top notch placements. However, IIT Roorkee Chemical is a better option because of these reasons-
- The NIRF Engineering ranking 2023 of IIT Roorkee is 5, while that of IIT BHU is 15.
- IIT Roorkee has a stronger alumni network than IIT BHU. This can be beneficial for placements, internships, and career guidance.

The branch change policies are based on the academic performance of the students in their first year and the availability of seats in the desired branch. These are the branch change rules at IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU:
IIT Roorkee- A 9.0 or above CGPA is required for a branch change at IITR. Another thing is that the strength of the new branch should not increase by more than 10%. Moreover, the strength of the original branch must not fall by more than 25% of its existing strength.
IIT BHU- For IIT BHU, the required CGPA for branch change is around 8.5 to 9.0. IIT BHU might have a slightly more flexible approach, but it mainly depends on the number of students applying for the branch change and their respective CGPAs. Some branches may restrict the number of students who can transfer in.
Seat availability in the desired branch is a critical factor for branch switch at both institutions. IIT BHU might have a slightly more relaxed approach for branch change. But overall, switching a branch at both these IITs is a difficult task.
How good is the Mechanical Dept. at Haldia Institute of Technology?
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology has established a nice reputation for itself over the past few years.
- The professors and other members of the faculty for the mechanical engineering department are experienced.
- The department also has good facilities for the laboratories.
- The teaching methodologies are considered to be above average by a majority of students enrolled in mechanical engineering courses.
- The only shortcoming of Mechanical Engineering at Haldia is on-campus placement drives. Very few core companies visit the campus to recruit students almost every year.
- In case you want to be recruited by a reputed core company after graduation then you must maintain a good academic record from the first semester itself.

Some rules for the recruitment drives have been established according to which only the top students based on their CGPA score would be eligible to appear for the selection rounds of core companies. How is the integrated MSc in physics at NIT Rourkela?
I am well aware of the situation of NIT Rourkela Integrated MSc in Physics since my sister is a student there. She shared her horrible experience and does not recommend it to anyone at all.
- The faculty pool comprises underqualified professors with zero experience and will to reach. They are unapproachable and don’t pay heed to the students' doubts.
- The curriculum is very rigid and students are offered no flexibility in choosing their electives. Rather they are forced to choose subjects that are only relevant to experimental physics.
- Students are required to get the signature of the Faculty Advisor, HOD, Asst. Registrar, and Dean even for the smallest official work.
- The place limits your talents and ambitions so much that all your dreams and talents will be crushed.
My sister regrets wasting 5 precious years on this course and advises everyone to refrain from joining it.
Should I join Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune for CS even if I get MIT Pune and VIT Pune?
SIT Pune will give you all the facilities along with the brand name of Symbiosis International University (SIU).
SIT has a lush green campus and all the facilities like sports facilities, gyms, canteens, CCD, libraries and a swimming pool.
The college has numerous clubs and committees. The tech club regularly organizes coding workshops, the Wrench Wielders Racing club manufactures and designs cars. There is also the Varsity Care club, a literary club, a book club, a drama club and an E-cell called EPIC.
The college frequently hosts Ted Talks and seminars. The tech fest, cultural fest, and sports fest are held on campus every year. The student crowd is very diverse, consisting of students from across the globe.
The faculty is very experienced. The college offers 6 month semester exchange programs to countries like Singapore, USA, Germany,Thailand, etc. The placements are decent for CS and IT. Companies like Dell, Microsoft and Amazon visit the campus for placements.
SIT Pune is a better choice than MIT Pune or VIT Pune, in my opinion. So you can definitely consider choosing CS at SIT Pune.
