What is the difference between AFCAT and EKT?
If you wish to get into the technical branch of the Air Force you'd have to crack the Engineering Knowledge Test also known as EKT. It is mandatory. For non-technical, flying, and technical posts, the most popular choice of graduates is the AFCAT exam.

The table will help you understand the basics of the exam pattern. You can see that EKT is a short exam and the syllabus is different because it is more branch-based.
At the venue, of the AFCAT exam, a document verification will take place which will take roughly 1.5 hours. Your photograph and biometrics will be scrutinized and you'll have to sign the attendance sheet. This year the exams are scheduled between 20 February 2021-22 February 2021; you can keep yourself updated by checking the IAF website.
You must know that even after clearing AFCAT and EKT; you will have to perform well in AFSB which will decide your selection or rejection, so be very patient and careful in planning your schedule.

Bansthali University offers a well-rounded campus experience. Situated in Tonk, Rajasthan it is the 2nd largest residential women's university in India. Weather during Summer is harsh. Days are hot and nights are quite cold. Bansthali has some set rules and regulations, that students need to follow. Instead of Sundays, Tuesdays are off. There are many extracurricular and sports activities that you can take part in like Athletics, Shooting, Aerobics, Gymnastics, Basketball, etc.

The degree certificate from Anna University is issued in a convocation ceremony. This ceremony is usually held 7-9 months after the results of the final semester are announced. The maximum period is 1 year within which you definitely get your certificate.

Yes, you certainly made the right decision by choosing IIT Roorkee over IIT Patna. The biggest reason for saying this is that IIT Roorkee is an older IIT, thus having better opportunities, alumni, and experienced faculty. The career opportunities and exposure rendered by an old IIT cannot be compared to that of a new IIT. Irrespective of the branch you choose, old IITs will help you develop as a person.
Additionally, the IIT Roorkee Civil Engineering branch is considered one of the best Civil branches in India.
Many students prefer average branches like Mechanical and Civil at old IITs to top branches like CSE and EEE at new IITs. So go for IIT Roorkee without any second thoughts.
What is the prospect of production engineering in NIT Trichy?
Many people think that production engineering is mechanical minus thermodynamics. Which is not true. Production engineering is completely different from mechanical as the subjects are different.
My friend is currently in the 4th year of production engineering, NIT Trichy and according to him, it doesn’t really have a good prospect. Here’s why:
- While other departments have 6 subjects per semester you’ll be having 7. This can get quite hectic for you at times.
- Despite so much hard work, placements are not good at all. You will never be treated equally to your mechanical friends, however good your profile is.
- Although you can go into most of the mechanical engineering fields like automobiles, industrial tools making, etc. you will be paid lesser than your mechanical engineer mates.
However, if you are planning for higher studies and research, then production is a very good choice. Being a production engineer opens up the manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical higher study options too. So, if placement after B.Tech. is your focus, please look elsewhere but if you are into higher studies then surely go for it. Choose wisely.
Is it difficult to take admission in Jamia Millia Islamia?
Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia can be competitive and challenging, but it ultimately depends on the program and the number of applicants. Here are some points to consider:
- Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university, which means it has its own entrance exam for most undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- The admission process typically involves filling out an online application form, uploading necessary documents, and appearing for the entrance exam or interview.
- The level of competition varies from program to program. Some programs may have a higher number of applicants and therefore be more challenging to get into, while others may have fewer applicants and be less competitive.

ISB Hyderabad GMAT cutoff stays around 710+. The institute follows a ‘no cutoff’ criteria for its management programs. So, there is no sectional or overall cutoff as such but a 710+ GMAT score is considered safe for getting admission. Is PGDIE in NITIE a better option than jobs in PSUs like IOCL, ONGC, BPCL after GATE?
Jobs at PSUs win over PGDIE at NITIE. However, if you are a fresher and you have to choose one, let us look at both the jobs options one by one.
- If you join NITIE, which offers techno-managerial roles, you will end up in the corporate world with lots of job varieties and offers. Even though NITIE is a center of excellence, no big offers are given to students. PGDIE is an industrial course offered by NITIE that does not add much value after 2 years.
- On the other hand, PSUs provide you a settled life. However, during the initial years, it might be hectic but it varies from organization to organization. After few years of work, due to saturation employees try leaving the job. So, if you do not like saturation, you can opt for NITIE.
However, 99.99% of top 100 rankers in GATE either go for jobs at PSUs or opt to pursue M.Tech from institutions like IITs/ IISC. In fact, you will find this in any branch you look at. You can also check the GATE rank of persons joining NITIE.
Which should I choose: CSE at BITS, Goa or CSE at NIT, Trichy?
I hope you are not the kind who evaluates and compares institutes solely based on their placement scenario. Here are a few things to consider while comparing CSE at BITS Goa and CSE at NIT Trichy.
- Faculty: BITS Goa CS department has a better and more experienced faculty pool in comparison to the NIT Trichy CS department. BITS Goa has a thorough screening while recruiting and most professors are PhD holders from top colleges abroad as well from India.
- Infrastructure: Both institutes are equally good in this aspect with top-notch infrastructure and facilities.
- Peer group: The crowd quality is also similar considering that NIT Trichy being the top NIT attracts high-rankers while the no-reservation policy at BITS Pilani ensures only the best minds.
- Brand value: BIT Pilani enjoys a better brand value because of its rich legacy and wins in this aspect although NIT itself is not very bad either.
- Fees: This is where NIT Trichy takes the lead as its BTech one-year fee is only ?1.78 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) while BITS Goa BE first-year fee is ?5.72 Lakhs.
- Placements: BITS Goa again is the winner here although, with excellent coding skills, you can get a great job in any of the 2 institutes.
So, unless you have any financial constraints, BITS Goa is the best choice for you.
