How much minimum CAT percentile do I need to get IIM Calcutta or IIM Lucknow if I have Xth 93, XIIth 73, and BTech 70, without any work experience?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 4th, 2023

Your graduation score is a bit low but it depends on your institute too. If you are from a top college, then this score will be considered pretty good. Moreover, past academics are not the only deciding factor when it comes to admission to IIMs. You do have decent changes if selection viewing your overall profile.

As for the CAT Score, don’t set a fixed target and just aim for as high as you can. The cutoffs keep changing depending on various factors so what should remain constant are your efforts. Additionally, preparing for the interview is very crucial because it determines your chances of admission.

What is the CAT cutoff for the PGP-IM in MDI Gurgaon?

RT
Ranjan Thakur Posted On : February 22nd, 2023
PGPM from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (2017)

MDI Gurgaon CAT cut-off is 94 percentile. It has been reducing over the years starting since 2010. The CAT cutoff is usually released when the GD-PI list is published. But I would like you to reconsider your decision of pursuing PGP-IM instead of PGPM. You can complete PGPM and then go abroad for an exchange program for 3 months. But if you are getting PGP-IM in MDI Gurgaon and PGPM in a mediocre B School, then choosing MDI is a better option.

Some highlights about the PGP-IM course are

  • Students of both the PGP-IM and PGPM programs are given equal opportunities and there is no partiality. However, some companies do prefer PGPM students only while some prefer PGP-IM students.
  • It’s a very rigorous course but you get to make International friends and access to the alumni network of institutes like ESCP.

Trust me 5-10 years later, your performance will matter more than anything.

What was the last year's cutoff score of GRE for a PGPEM course in IIM Bangalore?

SK
Sulekha Kumari Posted On : July 31st, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2018)

There is no definite cut-off score for GRE/GMAT when we talk about the PGPEM course at IIM Bangalore.

This is because there is a separate test that is conducted by officials for those who have more than four years of experience. The selection of a candidate depends upon their overall profile and the SOP that they submit. They also take into consideration that they have enough diversity in their batch.

What is the cutoff for a B Stat at Asutosh College Kolkata?

SR
Senjuti Roy Posted On : October 25th, 2021
BBA from Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (2020)

The required prerequisite for doing a B.Stat at Asutose College is 50% in the 12th standard. Having Statistics/Mathematics in your 10+2 is mandatory.

Students who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination and have also passed the English test with full marks of not less than 100 are eligible to apply.

If you have a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or the cessation of a recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying test, then you are not eligible to apply.

To determine eligibility for admission to the Honors Course, add the marks in the top four subjects. Marks obtained in mandatory Environmental Education/Studies, on the other hand, will not be factored into the final grade. You must have a minimum of 50% in aggregate and pass Mathematics.

Students from the SC/ST or OBC categories need to have a minimum of 40% in the previous qualifying examination.

For admission to PEC Chandigarh, you need to clear JEE Main and your intermediate exams result will also be taken into consideration. The weightage of JEE and 10+2 is 60% and 40% respectively.

Now, to answer your question, PEC Chandigarh has 4 categories - General, SC, ST, and General PwD. There is no specific OBC category present when cut-offs are considered.

The OBC candidates are allotted seats from the General category. Furthermore, candidates from Defence parents, Kashmiris, etc. will also get some preferences. It is best to contact the college for further accurate information.

With a 48,919 rank in the JEE Mains, in which NIT college can I expect?

KD
Kashish Duggal Posted On : June 8th, 2021
Studied Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at NIT Trichy (2019)

You can hardly get into NIT Arunachal Pradesh in biotechnology engineering, NIT Srinagar in Mechanical Engineering, or NIT Nagaland in Civil Engineering if you do not belong to the general category.

If these aren't your dream colleges then you must listen to my friend’s experience.

  • He got around 48K ranking during his first attempt in the 2017 JEE Main.
  • It was clear that he couldn't get into his dream college. He decided to drop a year and gave in maximum effort.
  • He was nervous after the exam about his results and hoped that he didn't have to take another drop year.
  • Finally, when the results were out it was ranked around 16K which was good enough to get into NIT Trichy.

It is suggested that a drop year could prove to be beneficial for you, as it helped my friend too. Study hard for a year and give your best shot. You will definitely score a better rank.

My friend has got 77K AIR in JEE Main. He wanted to know if he should go for GNDU Amritsar or GNE Ludhiana?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : March 2nd, 2023
Studied at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar

You are considering pursuing either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. We highly recommend you consider GNE Ludhiana. The Amritsar Campus of GNDU only offers three B.Tech streams: Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, and Urban Planning. However, the mechanical and civil engineering streams are available at the regional campus of Sathiala and were established in the 2014 batch.

The faculty for Computer Science and Electronics at GNDU is exceptional. However, it is important for you to research placement statistics and other relevant information before making a final decision.

If your rank is 77k, there may be a slight chance for you to get into mechanical engineering at GNE. However, there is an option for you to change streams after one year if there are any vacant seats in your preferred department.
