Initially, IIIT Guwahati offered an 80% fee waiver for students belonging to SC and ST categories. However, from 2018 onwards there is no fee concession at all. 

• There are no scholarships based on income or other criteria as the college doesn't receive funds from the government.
• Needless to say, college certainly helps its students to obtain scholarships from the central government, state government, and other sources.
• The institute has an option to increase the batch size thereby earning more from the tuition fee and part of which could be used up for educational aid. But it is committed to maintaining an educational standard for which maintaining a good student-faculty ratio is necessary. 

Each and every student joining the campus from 2019 has to pay a yearly tuition fee of 2.25 lakhs along with the hostel fee of 25,000 and a mess fee of 4,000 per month. Thereafter tuition fee of 1.3 lakhs will be collected in the following years.

Fee Structure:

To sum up, there is no fee waiver or financial aid offered currently at IIIT Guwahati. You need to personally apply for some external scholarships or educational loans from banks as the management is struggling to get funding from the government.

Well, this all depends upon your choice of preference. 

• If you are going after a brand name then you can choose IIIT Guwahati. Also, it is worth joining IIIT’s of all new ones for their coding culture is on a boom. 
• If you are planning to prepare for MBA, Civil Services, MS abroad then choosing IIIT G is a better choice.
• If you find the IIIT tag more appealing go for it. Yes, infrastructure wise Thapar University gives a quiet edge to many IIITs and NITs. 
• See, you’re comparing different branches, from which I can directly conclude that you’re interested in CSE more. So, keep this factor in mind too while deciding.
• If you are getting IIIT it means you do hold a good rank. That means you are okay with getting into IIITG even with high fees. If you have got a board percentage of 95+ you can get a 100% TF+DF waiver right from 1st semester.
• One of the important factors for choosing an institute is fees, if you are okay with higher course fees, you can definitely opt for Thapar. Infrastructure at Thapar is way better as compared to IIITs and NITs. 

This was an overall review on IIITG and Thapar University. Factor all these in and make a wise decision.

Having friends in both the colleges, I might be able to share a bit of information about both of them. Though my major focus will be on IIIT Guwahati, because being a student there, I had my fair share of experiences.

Nevertheless, let us discuss some of the facts -

• The atmosphere is quite relaxing.
• The distance is quite far from the main city, which is about 25 kilometers. But in terms of the campus distance from the airport, it is a fine 4 kilometers. 
• The population comprises people from UP, Hyderabad, and Bihar. If you are from the North, you would notice this.
• The coding culture is great, in my opinion. Much better than what the latest IIITs have to offer.
• The director of the college has the potential to lift it to the best position in the country. 
• Even though the campus is placed at quite a distance from the main city, you won't be short of any facilities.
• The hostel rooms are nice, if you are lucky, you might get a room with a washroom attached to it.
• The overall curriculum is excellent.
• Cricket and football fields are also available.

As far as IIIT Lucknow is concerned, I might not have too much to talk about. But then you can always make a comparison based on what you are looking for in a college which can be literally anything. Maybe try to put your question a little more precisely so that we can answer them accordingly.

My brother has just completed his B.tech from IIITDM Jabalpur and some of my friends also studied at the other two institutes. According to their experience and the NAAC Ranking, IIITDM tops among the three of them. The rating considers everything including infrastructure and facilities.

Following are the key points that give IIITDM an edge over the two.

• Alumni network: IIITDM is the oldest institute having a much larger history and alumni base as compared to IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram. Whereas the other two institutes might have just 2-3 batches completed.
• Campus: Knowledge is easily accessible to everyone even you can watch Stanford Lectures from Home. Here also, IIITDM Jabalpur is at advantage. The seniors are very helpful and won’t hesitate to give you a hand.

• Placements: IIITDM being located in the central part of India, has the advantage of better placements. Even core companies like ISRO and DRDO visit the campus for recruitment.

• Global tie-ups: IIITDM Jabalpur has tie-ups with countries like Japan, China, and Korea which creates opportunities for higher education if you are interested.

• Infrastructure: It is clearly better than IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram as the latter two are newly established hence lacking some basic facilities for now.

All in all, it is not advisable to rely on the college just for jobs and placements. It is crucial to focus on learning and develop new skills which may come in handy in the future.
