If you are an out-of-state aspirant, your JEE Main ranking must be around the opening and closing range of 2936 - 12187. If you belong to the home state then your rank must fall under 14665 - 31620. To fall under this range you must score around 150 marks.
If you are interested in Aerospace Engineering irrespective of the college, then you must consider IIST Thiruvananthapuram too. It offers aerospace engineering as its flagship course for which you must aim for around 4K rank in JEE Main by scoring 260+
PEC is still an amazing option for AE. If you score 150-200 in JEE Main, your seat will be almost sorted at PEC in their first round of counseling.

PES University is one of the oldest, and reputed engineering colleges in India. As per the recent records by OUTLOOK India-ICARE Rankings, PES stands at 6th position. PES offers more than 25 specialized courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. It has a good international academic partnership with Aberdeen University and the Taylors University Of Malaysia. PES has maintained a decent placement record over the years.
Placement Highlights 2019:
In the recent placement process, more than 50 companies visited the college and 851 job offers were made.
11 students received their dream job offer from Microsoft(star recruiter).
Aerospace companies are in demand for every student who opts for core branches like mechanical and civil in their career.
The University’s training and placement cell categorize the companies as Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 keeping in view the annual package offered by them, i.e. Tier 1: more than 8 LPA, Tier 2: 4 to 8 LPA, and Tier 3: less than 4 LPA.
The highest package was offered by Atlassian that is 48 LPA and the median salary was INR 7 LPA.

The university provides pre-placement training to its students before they appear for the campus interview. To have a real-life experience, students are taken for an industrial visit in their final year. Students are eligible for the placement process if they have 60% aggregate from 10th to BTech grade.
PES has the best placement percentage across all branches. If we talk about aerospace companies that select students from core branches, do visit the university. It solely depends on the student to work hard and get a dream company of their choice.
If you don’t have any inclination towards a specific branch, you should choose IIT Madras Aerospace Engineering. The institute has a well-developed campus with all basic amenities such as LAN, library, computer center, etc. IIT Madras has an excellent student crowd. You will get good peer learning opportunities.
According to IIT Madras placements of recent years, Aerospace Engineering students receive salary packages in the range of INR 6 - 30 LPA. SpiceJet, Airbus, Air India, etc. are some of the major recruiters of the branch.
IIEST Shibpur is a well-known institute in India. Although it has faced some challenges in recent years, it has been making progress. Aerospace Engineering is the newest department at IIEST, having been established in 2011 by branching out from the Mechanical Engineering Department. Despite being a small batch, the department has a lot of potential.
It's important to note that ranking colleges based solely on placements is not always accurate. Research output is often a more important criterion to consider.
IIEST Shibpur has better faculty and facilities than SRM, and at a much lower cost. So, if you're looking for an Aerospace Engineering college, IIEST Shibpur is worth considering.
The aerospace engineering department at IIEST Shibpur offers students with aerospace engineering as well as applied mechanics. Students always get confused as they often ask if the academic choices get bound to aerospace engineering only. But you could have used copper for studying structural and fluid that are two main aspects of applied mechanics as well. Labs and facilities are still not fully constructed, but once they are constructed, they are going to enhance the department's performance a lot. This department has developed several talented students since its beginning. Maximum students get good marks in their GATE examination every year. Two of the pass out students have gone to the University of Suny buffalo and Illinois University as well. Students are also sent for internships at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and other IITs only if they show their interest.
Student-teacher ratio: It is also very impressive with 36 seats in total and 20 teachers.
University tie-ups: The department has tied-up with IIT Kharagpur where the students are taken for labs and other practicals.
Qualified Facilities: The university is among the very few where you will find technically qualified teachers with good experience in the field. Professors always help out to gain practical knowledge even though Laboratories are not fully developed.
Hightech latest Labs: It has a fluid dynamics lab as one of the basic subjects that are required for studying aerospace engineering.
Placements:
The placement records have improved this year, and many placement drives are yet to be organized. No core company visited the campus to hire the students studying in the Aerospace department because most of the core Aerospace companies ask for an M.Tech degree in aerospace engineering as the minimum qualification.
The department is a very young department that has still to grow to obtain its full strength. But the scope and opportunities associated with it are huge, and you may get a very good and experienced faculty to guide you.
IIT Madras aerospace engineering cutoff 2024 has not been released yet. JoSAA will release the IIT Madras aerospace engineering cutoff. The IIT Madras aerospace engineering cutoff 2023 for the general all-India category is given below:
Course Name | Round 1 | Last Round |

Aerospace Engineering | 3001 | 3237 |
My sister graduated with a B.Tech Aerospace degree from LPU in 2020. This answer is based on her personal experience.
The LPU administration takes good care of its students’ needs, and provides various cultural and academic programs for them. My sister’s batch of 2016 was the first Aerospace batch at LPU. There were around 55 students in her batch in total.
The Aerospace faculty is dedicated towards the students’ welfare. They work hard and regularly motivate their students to publish research papers. Moreover, they make every effort to open up great internship opportunities for their students.
Aerospace is a relatively new field in India, and many people don’t know much about it. So it is the students’ responsibility to work hard if they want a bright career in Aerospace Engineering. The paid internships for Aerospace are much fewer as compared to CSE.
LPU is excellent for exposure and growth, but you should first consider the universities in South India for courses in Aerospace. As far as North India is concerned, LPU and CU both offer B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering.
