Yes, IIIT Delhi does have its own M.Tech test. Here are some details on its entrance test for M.Tech CSE-

As for the eligibility, you must have scored at least 65% aggregate (CGPA*10) in your qualifying degree. If eligible, you’ll face a written test in which you’ll be grilled on CodeChef. Upon qualifying that, you’ll face a panel of three professors. On successfully qualifying for the interview, you’ll get admission into IIITD as an M.Tech CSE student.

How is M.Tech in Pondicherry university?

PS
Piya Sharma Posted On : September 28th, 2021
M.Tech Green Energy Technology,Pondicherry University (2017)

M.Tech, as a degree, is a very good choice at Pondicherry University. However, it also depends upon the department you are choosing. Some of the programs such as Nano Science, Data Science, Computer Science, and Architecture are quite great at the institute.

In many cases, students of the university often claim that the placement percentage, unlike other institutes, is lower than usual. Some also say that the peer group at the institute is not that good.

Contrary to what they say, it is not quite true. One of my friends is a recent alumnus of Pondicherry University and is now settled in a top firm. So, if you have the required skills, you can easily get job offers.

There are many students engaged in government and privately funded projects. For academics, Pondicherry University is quite good. However, you will have to look for jobs on your own.

Yes, you can choose CSE Information Technology at NIT Calicut without any reluctance. This institute provides creditable placement support to its students. Let us have a deeper look at the current placement statistics at NIT Calicut in MTech

  • If you are looking for a placement in any core company, then work on your CGPA, as they ensure a strict cut-off during the placement process.
  • Core companies visit the campus every year, and many students are offered a good salary package.
  • Few companies give more preference to undergraduate students than MTech ones.
  • It is wiser to maintain a good relationship with the placement coordinator and tutors

Is the MTech in computer science at IIT, Madras hectic?

AS
Abhijeet Sukla Posted On : March 31st, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (2018)

The M.Tech program in Computer Science at IIT Madras is considered a demanding graduate-level degree program that requires a strong grasp of computer science concepts and a high level of dedication and hard work. However, with the right approach and attitude, it can be a very enriching experience.

The level of difficulty of MTech depends on the courses you have specifically opted for and the professors teaching you. Some professors like to take the reins and have strict rules in terms of attendance and assignment submission deadlines while some have a laid-back attitude and leave it up to the students to be punctual and make the most out of the classes.

The project you chose for the second year and your guide also determines whether you will have a hectic schedule or can spare some time for leisure activities and hobbies. Choose wisely as these 2 years are very important in shaping your career. However, one should be ready to commit completely to their course and invest maximum time possible.

Which is the better option, an MS at IIT Madras or an M.Tech at IIT Bhubaneswar?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : June 16th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

My brother completed his M.S. in Electrical Engineering recently from IIT Madras and recommends it highly to everybody. Here is why you should prefer IIT Madras MS to IIT Bhubaneswar MTech.

  • Better research culture and opportunities
  • Better and diverse student body
  • Highly qualified faculty
  • The job prospects offered at IIT Madras are way better than at IIT Bhubaneswar.
  • IIT Madras being older has a much more elaborate alumni base.
  • Vast Alumni network.
  • If you haven’t taken a gap after B.Tech and your GPA in MS first year is more than 8, you can switch to Ph.D.
  • Better student exchange and internship opportunities.
  • IIT Madras being one of the oldest IITs is a brand in itself.

The only flaw is the long duration of the course; 2.5 - 3 year's which leaves no time for preparing for competitive exams like UPSC.

What is the scope after doing an M.Tech in ECE at either NITW, NIT Suratkal or NIT Calicut?

IG
Indrita Goswami Posted On : August 23rd, 2021
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

If you are planning to do M.Tech from NITW, you will have to work hard. The course is challenging mainly because of the faculty.

In the second year, you have the choice of doing an internship with core companies like Intel and AMD. This will prove to be quite beneficial to you and the faculty will also support you for internships.

If you do VLSID, you can expect to get a job in Qualcomm, Intel, Nvidia, MediaTek, and AMD. If you are planning to major in EIES or Communication, the opportunities for placements might be a little less but if you study hard, you can get into good companies. Ensure that you have a GPA above 7 though.

Next, if you are interested in research, you can join any college you are interested in for a Ph.D. But, at NITW, you will get fewer resources and even less enthusiasm from your classmates at the college.

You might have to study on your own but some of the faculty is quite supportive.

A glimpse into the general procedure followed in counseling for an MTech at IIT Roorkee has been given below

  • A list of applicants is prepared for students applying for that branch which is based on GATE score/ GATE rank (category-wise).
  • The total seats are distributed category-wise for each branch and their specialization.
  • The branch is allotted based on your IIT Roorkee rankings.
  • One by one, candidates will be summoned for seat allotment based on their category-wise ranks
  • These students are then required to get their documents verified. Once everything has been checked, the seat will be allotted.
  • Candidates are also summoned to fill out the waiting list form with the assigned Demand Draft
  • In case the said seat is vacant, it will be allotted to the student based on their waiting list rank else your money is refunded.

How is the M.Tech (civil branch) at NIT Patna if the ESE and GATE preparation is the primary concern?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 1st, 2023

One of my friends has completed his BTech from NIT Patna. I have an idea about the academic environment and placement opportunities at NIT Patna.

  • MTech program has a relatively light workload giving you enough time for other things.
  • The academic opportunities are limited for MTech students but plenty for BTech students.
  • Faculty comprises friendly and learned professors. However, you will have to resort to self-study at some point.
  • The NIT tag helps you in the initial stages of your career.

Overall, completing MTech from NIT Patna might offer excellent opportunities. The government of India also encouraged the researchers by its schemes directly from NITs. You can also opt for academia and become a teacher or start working in a PSU. The institute will provide you with enough time and opportunities for civil services or IES,
