What should I choose between IIIT Bhopal, HBTU Kanpur, or IET Lucknow all in the CSE branch?
Having friends in these institutions, I am well aware that HBTU Kanpur is much better than IIIT Bhopal and IET Lucknow. Though one thing has been seen that the performance of the CSE department is generally the same in all the colleges. They all provide enough industry exposure to the students.

It is advised to join HBTU Kanpur or IET Lucknow than IIIT Bhopal, as the former are an older establishment than the latter which is comparatively new. Classes at IIIT Bhopal are scheduled according to MANIT Bhopal. Also the students are provided RGPV hostels. So it will be better if you go for HBTU.
Which one should I join: the NIT Surathkal's M.Tech in CSE or the IIT Guwahati's M.Tech in theoretical computer science?
Getting a master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from one of the Indian Universities can feel like being stuck in a place forever.
- If you do not take IISc and the top IITs, no other University or college in India provides a good quality program for Master’s in Computer Science.
- NIT Surathkal is popular for its B.Tech in CSE but not for the Master’s program that the college has to offer.

- Most candidates would certainly choose IIT Guwahati over NIT Surathkal for an M.Tech program.
- Assuming you are studying M.Tech to learn, not to get a job then you should definitely prefer IIT Guwahati over NIT Surathkal.
- If you want a job, there are several more ways to do that.
- If you are skilled enough to get admission at IIT Guwahati then you can have a decent job in hand in the future.
If you want to pursue a Master’s program and learn, you would be way ahead in IIT Guwahati than in NIT Surathkal.
I am getting both ICT, Mumbai (Chemical Engineering) and VJTI CS. Which one should I opt for and why?
I would suggest you go with VJTI CS as it will be a better choice in the long run. Computer science is in demand with the number of job openings increasing every day in the country. VJTI’s computer science program is famous in the country and is known for its curriculum with a dedicated emphasis on practical learning. The college has a dedicated faculty pool and most of them are also engaged in research. VJTI's location also benefits it to a thriving industry ecosystem, providing students with ample opportunities for research, internships and industry collaborations.
Placement is another factor in which VJTI is better according to me. In 2024, A total of 401 BTech students were placed with the highest package secured by a BTech Computer Science student which stood at INR 57 LPA. The average package for the BTech Computer Science branch was INR 20 LPA.
Out of NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal and NIT Warangal, which one is the best for a CSE?
The CSE from all three campuses is extremely sought after and has a high reputation in the job market. They are often compared to IITs. The choice between the two is therefore a matter of personal preferences.
Warangal gives a slight edge to Surathkal owing to its proximity to Hyderabad, the IT hub of India although the difference isn’t much noticeable. Surathkal has a slight advantage in terms of campus life and weather. It is the only college to have a private beach.
Ultimately, there aren’t any major differences between these colleges. If you want a better campus life go for Surathkal but if you want better academic opportunities go for NIT Warangal or NIT Trichy.
Which one is better for a B.Tech in CSE, Sagar Institute of Technology Bhopal or LNCT Bhopal?
LNCT is the best choice for engineering in Madhya Pradesh. The following are the reasons.

What should I choose between Jadavpur University Kolkata for CSE and IIT Tirupati for CSE?
IIT Tirupati CSE is better. It will offer better opportunities in terms of placement and internships.
Placement Highlights:
- Out of 44 students of 2021 CSE batch, 32 students received industrial internships and 12 students got academic internships.
- From 2021 batch, 24 students from the CSE branch were eligible for placement and 23 students received placement offers. IIT Tirupati CSE average package for this year was INR 12 LPA.
It is an institute of national importance and receives high funding from Govt of India. IITs also conduct many competitions, workshops, and special training for students. Since your branch is CS, you don’t need to worry much about the infrastructure of the newly build IIT Tirupati.
Is a branch change to CSE possible at NIT Manipur? If yes, what is the process?
Yes, like most other IITs and NITs it is possible to change your branch at NIT Manipur. My brother joined civil engineering at the institute but changed to CSE in the 2nd year, so I can tell you the exact process.
- First, your CGPA after 1st year must be among the top two in your branch.
- You should also not have any active backlog in the first year.
- If there is a clash between the CGPA then the JEE MAIN ranks of the students are taken for the tiebreaker.
NIT Manipur offers the branch change option only to two students at the maximum.
Which university should I prefer for a CS/IT: G.L. Bajaj, Greater Noida or Galgotias University?
Both G L Bajaj and Galgotias University are decent options for CS or IT branches. However, you will like to refer to the following points before choosing one
Choose G.L. Bajaj if you are self-motivated and determined to work hard because the institute has a rigid academic environment with many restrictions on attendance and such. Galgotia University on the other hand offers a huge sense of freedom with no restrictions at all. You are free to do whatever you want.
Another major factor to consider is the distance from Greater Noida. G.L. Bajaj is situated in the heart of Greater Noida, whereas Galgotias University is situated almost 15-17 Km from Greater Noida.
Honestly, the faculty pool of both colleges is below average. However, if I were to compare then G L Bajaj still has a handful of experienced professors

The placements are similar with G L Bajaj giving a slight edge to Galgotias University.
I will personally recommend you to opt for a better engineering college than these two institutes.
Should I prefer software engineering in DTU or computer science in Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology of IPU?
Among the best technological universities in India, Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ranked 2nd and 36th by Times Engineering Survey and NIRF respectively whereas out of 300, NIRF has ranked Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology at 250.

IIT Guwahati vs IIIT Hyderabad for CSE, which one is better?
For a CSE degree, IIIT Hyderabad is definitely better. It offers better academics, exposure, and placement opportunities. The institute has an excellent coding culture. Each year many students get selected for GSoC. It’s common to see students of IIIT Hyderabad engaged in competitive coding from the first year of the course. According to the recent highlights of IIIT Hyderabad placements, students of CSE, receive an average CTC of around INR 18 LPA.
