Is NMIMS Bangalore or MDI Murshidabad better for Marketing PGDM?

AB

No way MDI Murshidabad is better than NMIMS, although the Murshidabad campus is a subsidiary of MDI Gurgaon campus, NMIMS is better for marketing courses.

The median salary for NMIMS is more than MDI Murshidabad, the batch intake of NMIMS is also more than MDI, and NMIMS has better faculties than MDI. The campus and cultural life of NMIMS is better as it is a well-established institute, so you could opt for NM.

Is it better to join NMP at MDI Gurgaon or continue with your double figures salary package?

MDI EMBA is definitely a good choice if you want to pursue EMBA for

  • Acquiring knowledge
  • To start your own business
  • If you are joining the course on a sabbatical

But if you are here just for placement within India, then go for ISB only.

It’s sad to admit that even today Indian Corporates haven’t understood the importance of EMBA as most companies prefer MBA graduates only. They specifically enquire if their MBA program was a 2-year program or a regular MBA.

But ISB’s 1-year executive Management Course along with ISB brand name has been deemed equal in importance by the Indian Corporates to a full-time 2 year MBA. This is despite the fact that many students of the regular MBA program have 3-5 years of experience which is not uncommon even amongst many of the 2-year MBA programme students. EMBA from any other Institute is considered as candidates with a lot of experience which is not true in all the cases.

I am 26 years old and I am getting admission to Chetna College for a full-time MBA. Should I take it or study for another year for IIM or JBIMS?

MB
Mahima Bhalla Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
Former Joint Vice President & Company Secretary (2009–2016)

Before applying for an MBA program at any institution, be it Chetna College, IIM, or JBIMS, it is recommended that you take the following steps:

  • Thoroughly review the college website and gather information from social media platforms, especially Quora, to understand the college's reputation.
  • Ensure that the college you are considering offers a robust curriculum, experienced faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a strong track record of successful campus placements.
  • Reach out to alumni who have completed the MBA program from the college to understand their experiences and career growth.
  • Determine if financial institutions are willing to provide loans to support the cost of the MBA program, as students of reputable institutions usually do not face difficulties in securing bank loans.
  • Visit the college campus to get a firsthand experience of the college environment and facilities. This step is extremely crucial.

Additionally, it is noted that you are 26 years old and it is mentioned that you did not immediately start working after graduation. The inquiry is made as to what you have been doing since graduation, and if you have spent all of this time preparing for the CAT exam.

What is the best choice for an MBA, IIM Kashipur or IIT Roorkee?

A
Admin Posted On : June 24th, 2024

If I leave my biases towards Kashipur as a city aside. I would choose IIT Roorkee over IIM Kashipur.

Here are some reasons in support of my decision:-

  • Older IITs like Roorkee boast a longer legacy and are highly esteemed for imparting quality Management education.
  • The IIT brand that gets attached to you is an asset that shall forever remain worthy both inside and outside of India.
  • IIT Roorkee is ranked 18th in the NIRF ranking while IIM Kashipur is at 19th.
  • IIT Roorkee has a bigger campus size of 358 acres compared to IIM Kashipur’s 200 acres.
  • MBA started at IIT Roorkee in 1998 while IIM Kashipur was established in 2011.
  • IIT Roorkee has an Average Package of 18.3LPA with IIM Kashipur at 15LPA.

Which college is the best for MBA/PGDM among Jaipuria Ghaziabad or GL Bajaj?

HV
Himanshu Varshney Posted On : June 18th, 2021
B.Tech from Delhi IIT (2019)

Having friends at both the institutions, I can say that these are ‘decent ‘colleges. Selecting a stream is more important. I believe you should do some research on your own to obtain the exact picture of now. You can have a better option, of taking admission in Tier I colleges or obtaining a higher CAT score, if possible attempt MAT, with a target of above 95.

In between these institutes, it is suggested that you choose the Jaipuria Institute of Management.

  • It offers a dual specialization MBA program, approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD (Govt. of India), and affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
  • Jaipuria Ghaziabad has its unique teaching method. They train students based on current market trends and requirements.
  • JIM Ghaziabad prepares them for the corporate world. Internships, Live Projects, Seminars, Industry Visits are conducted.

PR
Priti Roy Posted On : April 8th, 2021
Studied at Narayana Business School (2019)

We are all familiar with the fact that Ahmedabad already has a good number of MBA colleges. To name a few - Nirma, IIM A, PDPU, etc. but the one that almost everyone would recommend is Narayana Business School or NBS.

  • They have a 100% placement record. NBS will prove to be the best, if you are all set to put your time, efforts and money into ROI.
  • You would witness drives that MNC giants participate in are - MTS, DNA, ICICI, IIFL, Axis Bank, Coca-Cola, Infosys, Wipro, Airtel, Berger Paints, Hindustan Times, Decathlon, Thomas Cook, Toyota, IndusInd Bank, Reliance, Just Dial, Videocon, Kotak Securities, Citibank, HDFC Bank, etc.
  • It is clear how diverse the companies that visit the campus are. The only thing left on students is to choose.
  •  A glimpse can be seen through the examples of companies like - FMCG, Banks, Consulting, Infrastructure, Telecom, Hospitality, Pharma, IT, Media, etc.

If the roles offered by these companies were to be divided -

Sector

% of students placed

Consultancy

14%

Sales & Marketing

42%

Analytics

11%

Other than these major functions, others comprise HR, General Management, Tech, Training and Development, etc.
