It is not just KJ Somaiya, but every college you decide to go to, find out the following, especially for post-graduate studies:
A friend of mine completed her M. Tech from KJ Somaiya and her experience was average. The research cell is not great and some teachers are well versed in their subject whereas others struggle with basic knowledge.
If you are concerned about placements, those are definitely improving over the years and this college will only be a good option for you if you are not looking for placements.
I have a few friends from NIT Jalandhar and they vouch for the M.Tech CSE Information Security course. The faculties for the branch are great. They have extensive knowledge about the theoretical as well as the practical aspects of the branch.
Here are some highlights of the course.

According to my friends, if you are opting for the MTech CSE Information Security course make sure you have easy access to computer facilities at any given time.
Overall, NIT Jalandhar is a decent option, if you have the choice to join the institute you should go for it.
If I was in your place and had to choose between the aforementioned institutes, I would set my preference order as follows
NSIT IT >= DTU IT > DTU SE > MNNIT CSE
The reason I have placed NSIT and DTU in the first place is because of their location in the capital city. This opens multiple doors of opportunities and exposure that might not be available in other colleges. Also, the quality of students these colleges attract is top notch and you will end up befriending some of the most genius minds.
However, if you are passionate about programming and CS, then choose IIIT Delhi because its curriculum and overall ambiance are CS oriented. The research culture and facilities here are unmatched and students conduct high-end research under the guidance of some great faculty.
Your last option should be MNNIT mainly because of its poor location.
Hope this helped you make a wise decision!
In JNTUK, there are no campus placements available for master’s degree holders. TCS sometimes visits for the interview of post-graduate students and only hires a few students depending on their performance in interviews.
The course is not recognized by AICTE so you won't get many opportunities after completing your course and won't even get any stipend through your GATE qualification.
It is better to prepare for IITs or IISC if you want a career in this field, as these institutes will help you a lot to achieve your goal. Also, a post-graduation from an IIT or IISC will add a boost to your career. It will also be very easy for you to opt for research internships or a Ph.D. if you are planning to do in the future.
It will be better to avoid this college and rather prepare for some better colleges such as IIT or IISC because there are no campus placements available here and neither you will get any kind of opportunities or exposure studying in JNTUK.

IIT Mandi is better for the ME branch than IIT Ropar and IIT Patna. Of course, all the IITs offer good classes to their students. But IIT Mandi stood out among all the others.
IIT Mandi campus is spread across 520 acres in an eco-friendly atmosphere. If you are enthusiastic about ME, then broad opportunities are coming. If you follow the classes regularly and have a consistent study routine, then you will excel among others.
IIT Mandi also aids students in improving their social skills, and the seniors will be open-handed. You will never regret choosing IIT Mandi; they will help us all the way to achieving our dream.
Before I begin, let me clear the misconception that the 3-year MTech program is inferior in quality to the 2-year MTech program. Because of this false assumption, the higher ranking MTech students tend to choose the 2-year MTech programs instead of the 3-year program.
Similarity
Differences
Both IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay offer 3-year MTech programs. There may be some other IITs as well offering similar programs.
Between BITS and IIT Hyderabad, I think the latter is a better option from a research point of view. Additionally, IIT Hyderabad also has a locational advantage, better connectivity, industry, expert interactions, etc.
For an MTech in Environmental Engineering, the best option will be to attempt GRE or IELTS and pursuing a Ph.D. abroad.
There are several research job opportunities for Environmental Engineering students in India but these jobs do not pay well. The reason behind this is the Govt. has not taken initiative to improve in this field. Which is not the case abroad.
If your only alternatives are institutes like NIT Durgapur, it will be better to go for IIEST Shibpur. Pursue a B.E. in Civil Engineering and after that do your MTech in Environmental Engineering. You will get way better research exposure at IIEST Shibpur.
There’s no doubts about the fact that 5 years at IIITA is a smarter option compared to anything else. This is because of the simple calculation that you are going to study the same curriculum for 4 years BTech for 3 years. That is all about the core of CS and IT. One core and two electives are a part of the fourth year in a 4-year BTech program, which hardly makes any difference.
According to the experts, Robotics is the future of the IT industry and hence, finding yourself in the midst of such an academically enriching atmosphere which ensures a full time access to a premium robotics laboratory and esteemed faculty will certainly do good to you in more ways than you can ever imagine. That’s the kind of right exposure you are looking at.
Moreover, this department at IIIT Allahabad is being funded by MHRD, thus having a lot of helpful and positive influence from the big academic and administrative circles from all over the country. A number of international conferences sponsored by IEEE are held here regularly. A DST funded summer school of robotics is also a part of this institute. IIIT Allahabad is known to have multiple MOUs with various popular foreign universities and has extensive student exchange programs to give the best exposure of the industry and experts to its students.
