IIMs in India provide excellent education and consistently grow and adapt to challenges, even during economic downturns. During the MBA placements season at IIM Ranchi in 2022, the highest and average packages offered were INR 42 LPA and INR 16.62 LPA, respectively. IIM Trichy also had a successful placements season in 2022, with the highest package offered to be INR 34 LPA, an increase of 13% compared to the previous year. One unique aspect of IIM Trichy is that it offers a course on International Business Practice, which allows students to work on live projects for companies based in Singapore and other locations. 

Both IIM Ranchi and IIM Trichy are good choices for students interested in sales and marketing careers. Ultimately, the decision of which institute to attend will depend on your personal priorities and preferences.

NITIE is superior to IIM Trichy in every respect. There are many students who have received calls from several other top business schools but ultimately chose NITIE as their first choice. Some may argue that IIM Trichy has the prestige of being an IIM and is more well-known to the general public, but the individual believes that what really matters is the reputation of the institute among employers. NITIE has a strong reputation in the field of operations and a good return on investment, as well as the advantage of its location. It also provides numerous opportunities for industry experience. 

A lot of students believe that it is not worthwhile to choose a business school based on its potential status in 15 years, as by that time, the individual will already have achieved success and the specific business school they attended will not matter as much.

In the long run, it can be argued that the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) may offer better opportunities for learning and growth compared to the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM). While an opportunity to learn from any IIM is certainly wonderful, it is worth noting that the IIMs are known for their rigorous academic programs and may push students very hard.

In terms of specific areas of study, IIM Trichy may have a stronger focus on finance compared to IIM Udaipur, but in other specializations, the two institutes may be relatively similar. However, IIM Udaipur may offer more support for entrepreneurs and may provide easier access to international exposure. Ultimately, the decision of which institute to attend should be based on an individual's priorities and goals.

SIBM Pune is one of the best B Schools in India. It boasts of an early establishment and has been growing ever since then. Its success can be determined by the large number of business leaders it has given birth to, that have attained executive positions across the world.

Placements: The table below draws a clear comparison between the placement statistics of the two B Schools.

Infrastructure: Situated on the picturesque hilltop of Lavale, SIBM Pune is a heaven for sports enthusiasts. From cricket and football to basketball grounds, and a sports complex for Badminton, Tennis, and Table Tennis SIBM Pune has it all. Other amenities include a 24/7 working library and a fully equipped gym for health freaks. 

IIM Trichy is no less when it comes to infrastructural facilities. It is located in a serene area and has similar sports facilities.

Corporate Competitions: Many top corporate organizations conduct competitions and prefer SIBM over other B Schools. These competitions result in PPIs and PPOs. Many of these competitions are not accessible to IIM Trichy students.

Diversity: SIBM welcomes a mixed crowd to ensure a balance between ethnic and cultural diversity. So your peers will not just be students from across India but also across the world.

Student-Driven Culture: SIBM Pune has a prominent student-driven culture. Everything ranging from placements, and admissions, along with corporate and alumni relations are entirely managed by students. This culture has become a part of the learning culture of the institute and also its USP.

Rankings: According to most rankings SIBM Pune is better than IIM Trichy.

So I will suggest you look at the bigger picture and don’t just get tempted by the IIM tag.

The deciding factor between the new IIMs is significantly lower than JND. Take a decision while keeping yourself in mind, because all new IIMs (Rohtak, Ranchi, Raipur, or Trichy) are equally good.

Because of regional industry coordination, IIM Rohtak has an advantage over others if you want to settle in NCR.

Old is gold, and it is the oldest of the new IIMs, with a larger batch size and a larger alumni base. None of the new IIMs have their own full-fledged campus, unlike MDU. However, IIM Rohtak employs MDU infrastructure that is superior to that of many older IIM campuses, while newer IIMs require decades.

Earlier there was a major difference in the placement scenario of both the courses and institutes. For the IM course, one had to study at a foreign business school, with which MDI has a tie-up during the second year, and manage your internship on your own. Moreover, they let you sit for the final placements only. 

On the other hand, at IIM you can avail of the summer placements, and PPO and then even sit for final placements.

Fortunately now, the PGPIM is a 2-year residential course at MDI Gurgaon campus only, with summer and final placements happening along with the PGP students. Through this, it has overcome its shortcomings of average final placements and is a much better option than IIM Trichy.

Before choosing a college you need to be certain of what you want to pursue. If you are adamant about pursuing HR, then IIM Ranchi is a better option because HR at IIM Trichy is relatively new and lacks rigor. But if you haven’t decided on a domain and are open to all options, go for Kashipur. It is a better choice as a whole. This is because it’s older and has a stronger alumni base.

For HR domain, choose IIM Ranchi over IIM Trichy. Apart from this, you have 2 other options - either go for IIM Kashipur or sit for a reattempt and aim for a better college
