There is no dress code in BITS. One of my friends is from the Goa campus but I am pretty sure that things are the same across all three campuses. You can wear shorts and a t-shirt to the class.
In NIT Trichy, this depends on the professor whose class you're attending and depends on which year you are in. According to the classification –
In IIST, you can wear whatever you want but it should be within the limits of decency as seen by the current society. So there are no strict rules regarding the dress codes.
I heard a lot of people ask these types of questions but it is fundamentally incorrect. VIT is one of the top-ranked colleges in India. However, the VIT students heavily deny this fact.
If your goal is to pursue PG programs or get employment through placements immediately after your graduation, then keep an eye on the curriculum, the flexibility allowed by the elective courses offered by the institute(s). You can also ask the seniors and the committee in charge of the admissions about the placement cell and how it functions.
It does not matter where you go and/or whatever you do; only 30% is in the hands of the institute. That is determined by how your prospects are affected and how your peers are. Rankings are often deceptive. They do not accurately indicate how good the institutes are.
You should make up your mind about your rank, campus life, placements, core academics, peers, etc. You must have a clear idea of what you want to achieve in the future and look for accurate information that will help you in your goal.
Here is a generalized preference order, based on the reviews that I have of these institutes.
Shiv Nadar University > JIIT > Northcap University > YMCA > Others.
You should definitely go for NITs. NITs will offer a better crowd, alongside good alumni networks. NITs also often come with a better campus and comparably lesser fees. The major upside of choosing NIT is it comes with a cooperative faculty and provides placement in various core companies, making both EEE and ECE courses quite good as a choice.
Moreover, every NITs offer multiple opportunities and has better fests. On the other hand, BITS Goa is reasonably expensive.
If you are interested in CSE, then opting for RVCE can be better. And your second choice about opting for EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal or Rourkela can be a decent decision as well.
You should choose the institute that is close to your residence and finalize your decision after considering every relevant factor alike.
There are a number of colleges under Symbiosis Institute. The minimum percentile should be 98% and above in order to get into a top college at this institute. However, the minimum percentile to be obtained differs among colleges under Symbiosis.
SNAP scores are accepted at many Symbiosis Institutes. The percentile cutoffs of some of the top Symbiosis Institutes are as follows:
These above-mentioned percentiles would be enough for you to retrieve interview calls from the institutes. Your performance in the GD and PI would decide your acceptance in these institutes.
New IIMs are far behind B-Schools such as FMS, SP JAIN, XLRI, and NITIE. These institutes score far ahead of new IIMs in terms of academics, peer group, brand value, and placements. These are among the most reputed B-Schools in the country and in many factors, these institutes score ahead of even older IIMs such as IIM A, IIM B, and IIM C.
The answer probably is no. It is because you cannot always be certain about what the future beholds. My brother secured himself ECE in PEC Chandigarh some years back and pursued it. While at the same time, some of his friends decided to take another chance with JEE and dropped. There was no significant variation that they could achieve, which is rather unfortunate enough. But, at the same time, it depends on how your preparations are in the meantime.
If you choose to drop, there will be several issues you have to face. You are most likely to experience pressure to perform well by peers and family. One of my brother’s friends who dropped never actually scored below 180 in the institute’s mock tests, however, he missed even touching 180 in the examination only because of his state of mind a few days before the main test, during his revision period. That means, there can be uncertain events.
CSE at PEC Chandigarh is not a bad choice. It has decent placement statistics, you can check the official website for the same. The crucial point is having a backup plan regardless of the circumstance. It will help you support your own probable situations if you opt to take the examination.
Having said that, preparing for JEE mains yet again, while you pursue a degree is not that difficult if you are preserving.
A friend of mine from school happens to be a former student of IIM Udaipur. From what I heard from her, IIM Udaipur lays stress on entrepreneurship right from the get-go.
Entrepreneurship:
Various opportunities for start-ups are provided to the students. Right from the students choosing to leave a summer internship to the students who aspire to become entrepreneurs in the future; IIM Udaipur gives opportunities to each and every one.
It offers stipends for covering the basic costs of living. The stipends ensure that the students do not get distracted by their day-to-day spending and focus on the big picture of starting a venture.
The institute also provides placement holidays where the students are allowed to use the services of the campus placement at a later date. They, however, have to use the services within two years of graduation.
Faculty:
The Japanese model of faculty development is followed by IIM Udaipur. The process of selection is tough but after the appointment of the faculty, they are benefited by the support from the institution. The goal is that each member of the faculty will become well established in the fields they have chosen. May it be the NIRF ranking or UT Dallas ranking, they have the final say in this respect.
Research:
In terms of research, IIM Udaipur is in the top five.
Achievement:
In terms of international ranking also, IIM Udaipur has an enviable position be it in the QS World Ranking or FT MiM Ranking. It was awarded the accreditation of AACSB when it was the youngest institute in the country.
From the time IIM Udaipur came into the radar, it has been trying to change that situation in the hopes of creating a better brand name in the future and attracting more aspiring students so that they can lead.

No, in most cases, IIMs, XLRI, and FMS don’t count internships or working at an NGO as work experience. These institutes usually have a clear policy regarding work experience. Paid work experiences after graduation are counted.
You can add your internships or experience of working in NGO to your CV, under extracurricular activities. These experiences do add some importance to your resume, as it shows you have some sort of experience in that area.
CAT exam is a highly competitive exam that is taken by thousands of students every year, and it is widely known that only a small percentage of students are able to crack it and secure a seat in the IIMs.
Based on conversations with current and former IIM students, it is believed that most students who get selected into the IIMs have taken the CAT exam multiple times. Some students take the exam 2-3 times, while others take it 4-5 times or more before they are able to secure a high enough percentile to get selected.
It's important to note that the CAT exam is just one part of the selection process for the IIMs, and candidates are also evaluated based on their academic performance, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the group discussion and personal interview rounds. Therefore, even if a candidate has taken the CAT exam multiple times, they still need to perform well in the other parts of the selection process to secure a seat in the IIMs.
While there is no fixed number of attempts that most IIM students take before getting selected, it is clear that perseverance, hard work, and dedication are key traits that are required to succeed in the highly competitive world of management education in India.
