Which is better, CSE at IIITM Gwalior or CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur (considering aspects like coding environment, faculty, placements, etc.)?

I have few friends at both IIITM Gwalior and IIITDM Jabalpur. Based on the conversation I had with them, I will say IIITM Gwalior is the better option for CSE.

The faculty at IIITM Gwalior is great. Most of the faculty members have Ph.D. The placement record of IIITM Gwalior is also quite impressive.

Having friends studying at both the institutions, I can say that both the colleges IIITDM Jabalpur and IIITM Gwalior are good. It will be a difficult choice to select one among them.

Both the colleges have a good reputation and provide their students with good Infrastructure, faculties, culture, and placements. Here’s discussing some facts about them which might guide you.

IT (Integrated) at IIITM Gwalior:

If you want to go for higher education then it will take you 1 year less.
You can pursue M.Tech again after the dual degree from IITs, but not many do that, they go for Ph.D. instead.
IIITM Gwalior definitely has a better coding culture and alumni network than IIITDM Jabalpur.
If you think that IT is a lower level compared to CSE then think twice. Placement wise both are at par.
There may be a bit of difference between the two in the course content but you can nullify it by self-studying.
You will get to sharpen your skills and work on more projects, learn more things in the one extra year. It never goes to waste.

CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur:

I would suggest you opt for it if you want to go into the workforce right after graduation and don’t want to spend one extra year.
Choose it if you want to do higher studies like M.Tech, MS, etc. from other more reputed institutions after 4years itself.

One of my cousins studied at IIITDM Jabalpur. According to him and his classmates, IIITDM is growing at such a brilliant pace in terms of curriculum and placement that the fact that it is still a relatively new institute sounds unconventional to people.

With the pace of the growth, it can surely be said that IITDM Jabalpur has the potential to become a place of great importance at an international level.
CSE is a much better choice than EE due to the growth of AI, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, and even the utility of computers in our lives. The demand has increased.
All of these, without a doubt, carry great importance and have managed to accommodate that in our day-to-day activities.
Having said that, the placement stats are also quite impressive.

There are two options available to you. Choose between IIIT Jabalpur and NIT Raipur for CSE.

Why choose NIT Raipur?

As of now, the placement scenario is favorable.
Seniors would provide you with sound advice.
There is a greater emphasis on practical hands-on experience among peers.
The highest salary package offered to three students was 32.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 6 LPA.
You'd almost certainly get a job.

NIT Raipur, why not?

If you want to pursue higher education, NIT Raipur is a no-go.
There are few opportunities for research.
The brand name NIT does not help with the GRE.
Higher education is entirely theoretical. Peers get together and must put in extra effort to gain hands-on experience.
The syllabus is not focused on the current business world.

Why choose IIIT Jabalpur?

It would teach you CSE from the first year, unlike other NITs, which require you to study common subjects like chemical, civil, and mechanical engineering.
The placement scenario is nearly identical to that of NIT Raipur. However, it will improve as IIIT Jabalpur improves.
There will be far more research opportunities than at NIT Raipur.
The brand name may be beneficial for the GRE.
The IIIT experience is more enriching than the NIT experience.
IIIT Jabalpur has a competitive coding culture.

Why not IIIT Jamshedpur?

The students have stern words for IIIT Jabalpur.
The situation is similar at NIT Raipur but much more serious.
Jabalpur is not a pleasant city to visit.
It is in the lower echelons of IIITs that Extra-curricular activities are not spectacular.

Which is the best IIITM Gwalior or IIITDM Jabalpur?

IIITM Gwalior is better than IIITDM Jabalpur in all aspects. It offers better academics, facilities, and placements. IIITM Gwalior placements 2022 had witnessed an average CTC of INR 24.85 LPA. While the highest CTC for this year was INR 1.95 CPA.

IIITM Gwalior brand name is more popular in the industry as well. Being the older institute, it has a huge alumni base. The networking opportunities are plenty.

What should I choose, SVNIT Surat for electrical or IIITDM Jabalpur for CS?

SVNIT and IIITDM are well-known institutes in India. Both institutes have been ranked by NIRF 2019 Rankings. SVNIT was ranked at58 while IIITDM Jabalpurat 75 among top colleges in India. Listed below are some factors to analyze both institutes:

Admission:

SVNIT Surat

To be eligible for admissions at SVNIT for B.Tech Electrical Engineering, the applicant must be passed 10+2 with PCM compulsory subjects and aggregate of minimum 50%. The candidate should be JEE Main qualified.
For M.Tech Electrical Engineering, the candidate needs to be GATE qualified and have a B.Tech/ B.E degree with a minimum of 60% for the general category and 55% for the reserved category.

IIITDM Jabalpur

For B.Tech CS admissions at IIITDM Jabalpur, the selection criteria are based on JEE Mains and the candidate should be passed with minimum 50% marks with physics and chemistry as compulsory subjects.

IIITDM Jabalpur

In SVNIT for electrical placements are few (40%), also the companies which visit for electrical students are primarily for the IT department, and they offer the lowest packages. Whereas placement records at IIITDM Jabalpur are wonderful, more than 95 percent of the students in the computer science got placed with good salary packages.

The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT) is a Deemed University approved by All India Council for Technical Education and accredited with Grade A by NAAC.
