How do I prepare for the CLAT 21 from today while studying in an NLU? What is a study plan? Im aiming for NLSIU.

SR
Sreemona Roy Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studied at National Law School of India University,Bangalore

One of my friends is a student of NLSIU and here is his advice on how to prepare for CLAT.

  • You can take a year break to prepare for it or blend your routine in a perfect balance to prepare for it along with your studies. Assign flexible time hours to your CLAT preparation. You should follow a very strict schedule when it comes to the preparation of CLAT.
  • Pursuing an online course while studying in any institute for cracking CLAT might be helpful.
  • Remember to invest equal hours in preparation for all the questions you will be attempting. Your hold on English should be strong. Do not forget to practice reasoning every day.
  • Updating your general knowledge and current affairs regularly is also necessary.

With strategic planning, you can do well in CLAT.

Is it compulsory for IGNOU students to visit study centers regularly?

AS
Aprajita Shukla Posted On : October 14th, 2022
MCA from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

It is not required at all.

You need to go to the study center to get your books (which are also available at regional centers), submit assignments (which are mandatory), fill out your examination form (which can also be done at regional centers), and attend practical classes (if you have any practical subjects).

In some cases, regular classes are held at the centers for specific courses. They are attended by some of my friends. However, because it is an open university, it is entirely up to you whether or not to attend them.

What things at BITS Goa lowers the students' CGPA?

KV
Karan Verma Posted On : August 3rd, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

After getting admission, there are a few things that can drag your CGPA down in the institute.

From Student’s end

  • BITS Goa is a top-notch college and it is considered an achievement in itself. Most of the students come with an assured casual mindset of getting placed. This usually destroys their interest to learn.
  • Zero Attendance System is followed in the institute. It is another reason for low CGPAs. Here, students are allowed to sit for exams even after not attending a single lecture. Students become casual, and this hinders their learning.
  • The students give more preference to the club and department activities that distracts the students.
  • Some students have a wrong attitude towards the professors, and sometimes seniors also conduct lectures.

From Faculty’s end

The grading system at BITS Goa is not up to the mark. More weightage is given to cramming which leads to poor performance of students well-equipped with practical skills.

Overall, the institute is excellent. But some of the above things can affect the grades and motivation of the students.

Are IGNOU materials relevant for the UPSC?

RP
Ragini Prajapati Posted On : October 13th, 2022
M.A IN PHILOSOPHY from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

IGNOU Public Administration material is very simple and lucid, covering the majority of the UPSC Public Administration syllabus. Before moving on to books by Mohit Bhattacharya and Administrative Thinkers like Prasad & Prasad, IGNOU material is a good starting point. The same is true for the other subjects. So, if you are reading the subject for the first time, you can go through them to get a basic understanding of it.

It is recommended to read blogs on the subject, consult standard textbooks used for the specific course at university, and, most importantly, form a study group. For serious discussion on topics, this group should stay connected on a messaging platform like Whatsapp and the social media of your choice. If you do this religiously, your IGNOU and UPSC journeys will be smooth and enjoyable!

Disciplined UPSC candidates refer to the study material of this Open University's PG program honestly.

How are the Instrumentation & Control engineering placements in NIT Trichy?

SP
Shreyansh Patil Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
Instrumentation and Control engineering at NIT Trichy (2020)

Instrumentation and Control engineering of NIT Trichy is a tremendously demanding branch. I have a few friends from NIT Trichy and according to them, the department is great. Except for a few of the faculties the faculty members are cooperative.

In fact, in this branch, you will be exposed to a very healthy learning procedure. Most essentially, the department of Instrumentation and Control engineering has a broad and diversified curriculum. You can ask some of the alumni members to walk you through the subjects, electives, curriculum, and other relevant areas of concern.
