Admission in PGDIM is done through the percentile scored in CAT. If you are an OBC candidate and looking to get admission to NITIE for PGDIM, then you must have secured an overall percentile of 86.5.
Now, for sectional cut-off for the OBC category, it varies every year. You must score 74 percentile in Quantitative and 74 in Verbal section as well.

Is it that valuable doing the MBA from IIT Delhi as compared to IIM Shillong?
I will do a brief comparison between the MBA programs of the 2 institutes based on common parameters and leave the final call for you to make
- Brand value: IIT Delhi enjoys international recognition while IIM Shillong offers the much coveted IIM tag. However, being a new IIM, its tag does not hold much value in comparison to IIT Delhi's tag.
- Fees: The MBA program offered at IIM Shillong costs a whooping ?14.6 Lakhs while that at IIT Delhi costs around INR 10.4 Lakhs saving you a few Lakhs.
- Location: Due to its central location, IIT Delhi offers much more opportunities in terms of exposure and placements. Located near the IT hub Gurgaon, it attracts many startups that come with internship offers. IIM on the other hand is located in the North Eastern part of India and lacks the necessary industrial touch.
- Infrastructure: IIT Delhi is one of the oldest IITs lacks in terms of infrastructure when compared to the newly built IIM Shillong which has a dreamy campus.
- Top sectors: IIT Delhi is well known for its specialization in IT/Consulting, and Operation whereas IIM Shillong’s top sectors are Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Consulting.
Now weigh the pros and cons of both and make a wise decision based on the same.
Is Chandigarh University good enough to pursue MBA?
Yes, Chandigarh University is a good option for pursuing an MBA. It changes minimal course fees. Chandigarh University MBA fees are around INR 4.34 Lakhs. University School of Business of CU has industrial partnerships with IBM, ICICI Direct - Center for Finanancial Learning, and Piramal Foundation. So, students get good industry exposure.
It also has a great placement record. Even during COVID, students got placed with good salary packages. During 2021 placement drive, the college received the highest CTC of INR 28 LPA.
How are MBA placements in NIT Trichy?
As my friend was a part of the 2013-15 batch, DoMs-NIT Trichy, the structure is quite known to me.
- They have a decent placement that is almost 100% placements are provided by NIT Trichy and except 3-4 students, everyone gets placed.
- The fees of NIT Trichy are also reasonable as it is a government college.
- The average package provided by the Institute is of 6 LPA while the highest package rose to 8.5 LPA.
- Some of the major recruiting companies for MBA students at DoMs NIT Trichy are Aricent, Microsoft, PepsiCo, etc.
So, the conclusion is that if you are confused about the placements in NIT Trichy, don't think twice as it provides decent packages.
How is BIMTECH Noida for an MBA?
If your CAT percentile is between 80 and 90, BIMTECH is a good option to consider. The campus is vast, with all modern amenities, and the faculty is excellent. However, when it comes to placement, PGDM and PGDM - Insurance students receive the highest number of offers.
If you want to study International Business or Retail Management, look into their most recent placement records and make an informed decision.
