VIT Vellore made it in the Book of Records, India for placing the highest number of students since its advent. IIEST Shibpur is the 2nd oldest engineering college in India. It has a faculty strength of 250 highly qualified members. Both the institutes are superiors in their respective places. Though if you get to study at VIT Vellore make sure to consider it.
As a student of VIT Vellore, I find myself eligible to only comment on my college.
VIT Vellore is a private college with top class infrastructure and other facilities. It is ranked highly in the NIRF 2023 engineering rankings, at 11th position. The infrastructure of VIT is top notch, with well equipped and modern laboratories.
VIT offers really good IT placements, and the college faculty is highly qualified and experienced. The students at VIT are given plenty of opportunities in the form of internships, student exchange programs, and training offers.
Apart from all these pros of joining VIT, the con is that its fees are quite high. The fee structure is divided into several categories, and is different for each engineering branch. But the minimum academic fee is approx. INR 2 lakh for the first year (excluding hostel and mess charges).
Here is a detailed video on VIT Vellore for your reference-
Despite its high fees, VIT offers good infrastructure, faculty, academics, extracurriculars, placements, and brand name. This is why, I would recommend you consider VIT Vellore for your engineering studies.
Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College is better for a BBA LLB. The college is reputed and well-known all across the country. BVP fees are less. The BBA LLB course cost around INR 1.78 Lakhs. There are 120 Govt. aided seats. These seats have fees of around INR 40k per annum.
It also has a good placement record. Students of this college have got placements in High Courts of India, Indian Army Judiciary, Supreme Court of India, and top corporate firms.
Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore is a private institute which is a deemed university. It has been ranked as the number 1 private engineering and technology university in India based on its track records and educational standards.
Institute of Chemical Technology has received an A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It has been claimed to be the 18th best institute for Engineering by NIRF rankings.
Courses:
The Computer science course at VIT provides insights into computer applications, programming languages, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, and a number of other related fields. It involves intensive course work and projects throughout the 4 years of course duration.
Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai provides a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Master of Chemical Engineering.
Admissions:
VIT is relatively flexible with its admission criteria. It considers a number of exams like VITEEE, JEE mains, and SAT for admission to undergraduate courses.
ICT, Mumbai provides the provision for online as well as offline admission. B.tech admissions are done on the basis of MHT CET or JEE mains score. M.Tech admissions are conducted on the basis of GATE score or other relevant scores.
Campus:
VIT, Vellore:
It is famous for its large and sprawling campus. It has a number of institute buildings, hostel buildings, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and curated labs for research.
They also have a well-known cafeteria and many other recreation facilities on-campus.
Their classrooms have especially upgraded features that allow students to learn better and their library has online as well as offline features.
ICT Mumbai:
ICT has 3 campuses and each campus is 16 acres each. It provides a feel of the corporate world to the students and provides all facilities in their few buildings.
Placements:
VIT, Vellore:
It is the most successful private engineering university in providing placements to its students.
Over 90% of students get placed in one of the top companies of India including Amazon, Flipkart, Accenture, IBM, Asian Paints, TCS, Hindustan Unilever, etc.
The highest salary package goes up to 60 LPA while the average salary packages are around 5-6 LPA.
ICT Mumbai:
It has a placement record of 90% placements.
Major employers include BPCL, Pidilite industries, Johnson & Johnson, TATA Power, Nerolac, etc.
The highest package offered was 18 LPA with the average being 5 LPA.
Thus it completely depends on the students which institute they want to choose for their studies.
A friend of mine recommended me CIT as it is the oldest and a government-aided research institute. CIT was started much earlier than SSN. Needless to say, the institute has much more facilities to offer you as it is the most trusted.
Here are some basic information about the three institutes:

If you ask about computer science, SSN and CIT are on the same page. Both the institutes are equally great. If compared on the basis of the CS department, VIT is lagging behind as compared to SSN and CIT.
CIT and SSN are more affordable as compared to VIT as it is a deemed University.
SSN has the best infrastructure among the three universities.
In order to encourage research, SSN offers an amount of twenty-five thousand rupees as part of internally funded projects. You can collaborate with top institutes like Anna University or IIT for projects.
Though the faculty and quality of teaching at VIT lags behind, it is not the case in CIT and SSN. Both the institutes have a very strong faculty being top institutes.
Though the oldest and the most affordable institute among the three is CIT, if your budget allows, you must go for SSN. It is also located in a metropolitan city. You can keep VIT as a backup option due to issues like affordability, comparatively poor faculty, and lack of enough research facilities.
