Life at IIIT Hyderabad is very vibrant and fun-filled irrespective of how rigorous the academic culture is. Honestly, all that matters is your company. If you have found the most amazing friends, you will have fun doing everything. You will enjoy the coding sessions, doing group assignments, and going for PT together early in the morning. Staying aware till 4 in the morning to complete projects is another kind of fun. You will even enjoy organizing and cleaning your room on Sundays.
So yes, life at IIIT Hyderabad is certainly very tiresome and rigid but the occasional events and activities surely are great stress boosters.
Everything becomes fun if you have the best company be it the compulsory PT or classes from 08:30 am. In the end, you will realize all the discipline helped you become a more responsible and independent person.
For most students, IIIT Hyderabad campus life goes in a circle of eat-sleep-code-repeat. The institute offers a pretty good campus experience. The academics are rigorous. Other than lectures you will learn through various technical and extra-curricular activities. The library on campus has a huge collection of textbooks, reference books, technical reports, etc.
IIITH offers residential facilities to students. First-year students are given accommodation in double sharing rooms. While others get individual rooms.
There are many clubs such as Photography club, Music club, Movie club, Dance club, etc. The sports facilities on campus are also pretty good. There are facilities for cricket, volleyball, basketball, etc.
According to my best friend’s experience, here are some main points you should know to get a better view of life there:
If you are a Btech 1st Year student, you’ll be allotted a double seater room whereas other course students are provided with a single seater room. There are a total 3 hostels; 2 for boys and 1 for girls. There is an optical fiber network connecting all the buildings assuring you a good internet connection in your rooms.
Various Clubs : Here is a short description of all the clubs which you can choose from according to your interest…
You can choose to dine among the 3 vegetarian (North, South and Yuktahara) and 1 non-vegetarian mess (Kadamb) on campus. Kadamb serves non-veg five times a week. You can also go to canteens for snacks and beverages throughout the day and late into the evening.
