Why IIITM-Gwalior being the oldest still not stand at any place with IIIT-Hyderabad? Do they follow the IIIT-H syllabus? Do they teach topics like AI and ML?

The most prominent difference is that IIIT H is a private institution and IITM G is a government institution that is autonomously working under the aegis of MHRD. Despite all this, both institutes rank #100 and #43 on the NIRF ranking respectively. IIIT H as you can see ranks better than IIITM Gwalior. Here are some more insights -

• IIIT-H is also better than IIITM G because of its coding environment, the competition is tough as well. It helps because then better placements are available.

As for the syllabus, AL and ML are offered as well. Although the problem occurs with respect to its pedagogic facilitation because the faculty is not well versed with the latest technologies which have to be incorporated into the syllabus. The MOOCs are not good either. 

You can also join online classes at Harvard or Stanford, which is much better than what is taught at the aforementioned institutions, however the final decision rests in your hands.
