Among these, Amrita is the better option. It follows a rigorous curriculum that is at the same level as IITs and top universities from around the world. The student crowd is competitive. Amrita has an amazing coding culture. It organizes Hackathons and coding competitions regularly.
If you are interested in a circuital branch-like CSE, EEE, ECE, AI, etc. you can get good placement opportunities. Amrita School of Engineering placements 2021 had an average CTC of INR 5.8 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 56.95 LPA.

I have friends from both VIT and Amrita and here is a brief comparison of the institutes based on the information I gathered from them.
- Amrita University has a better placement record as compared to VIT. VIT has a huge student crowd from different parts of the world and more branches which makes it difficult for students to get good placement offers.
- Amrita has 3 supercomputers similar to the one at IIT Bombay.
- VIT has a good infrastructure but so does the Amrita Coimbatore campus.
- At Amrita, the Amritapuri campus has more active clubs. VIT also has clubs like FOSS. Many students get internships in Google from FOSS, each year.

Amrita has been labeled as a spiritual institute by many which aren’t completely true. The college features a very pleasant atmosphere during the times of admission which attracts many parents. The college’s reputation as a strict institute becomes the second most engaging point for the parents.
Restriction:
- The restriction of students is normally concerned about entry and exit. There's just a modest restriction inside the campus.
- The nonexistence of an exact food court or an area to relax makes it uncomfortable inside the college premises.
Faculty:
- Professors are talented and most of them have Masters and PhD degrees.
- There are more than 100 men doing re-appearance, re-register, run-time courses, supplementary exams, contact courses all semester.
Social life:
- Seniors are the only one who knows about all the principles, offices, subjects, professors, staff, wardens, and even the securities.
- If you are very eager, hard-working, sincere, dedicated to representing a university in any sports event, Amrita is solely the precise place.
- Students are going to be put through a talent search within the first year where they will be asked to spell out the name of the game and will be selected after a test.
