Hybrid experience of a student.

Remarks :

There is an entrance exam. For those who took integrated courses direct admission was based on previous qualifications at that time. Based on ranking there are reservations. There is no caste reservation type that's the good thing.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is good and teaching quality is also good. Faculty are highly qualified people but some are not good at teaching. The faculty-student ratio is like 50 on average. It depends on the course. Coming to exams there is CAT 1, 2 and FAT, mid-exams, and final exam. CAT 2 is an open-book exam where students can take books and copies to the exam. Even though it is an open book it is tough the questions are tricky. Students need to pass in FAT exam and their overall score which is the average of CAT 1,2, FAT, and assignments. It is easy to pass the exam but getting good grades is a little difficult. The grading system depends on the class average marks, There are both pros and cons because of this type of grading system. 75% attendance is mandatory and for those who will get above 9 cgpa, there is no minimum attendance. Classes are interactive. Overall my experience is good in physical classes but during COVID it is online so it's normally like every other college.

Internships Opportunities :

I have done a VAP course instead of an internship because of the lockdown. VAP course offers management there are various types of courses. And in final year internships got to some students with job offers and did their final year projects.

Placement Experience :

I don't know much about placements cause I didn't apply for them, for those who applied maximum students got placed in the IT sector. Core jobs are for my batch of students. Many companies visited. My plan is to gain some experience and improve my skills and pursue a master's.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure depends on ranking and counseling, starting from around 1.5 lakhs to around 5.5 lakhs depending on categories 1 to 5. Scholarships are available for top rankers and for the financially poor for this proof are needed to provided. Campus placements are good. Many students got jobs in IT companies and even mechanical and civil students got jobs in both IT and core jobs. From my experience, there is no reduction in fees even though in lockdown online classes they collected full fees from the students.

Campus Life :

Campus life is so good, For every year, there will be one tech fest in one semester and an annual fest in the other semester both are the same. The library is very good all types of books are available but few students are wasting time in the library to chit chat, now management is taking care of that. Newly built classes are better because of AC. Projectors are available in every classroom. Sports and extracurricular activities are also good. Food courts are available few taste good and few are bad. There are many social groups and clubs for students that are run by both students and management. Overall campus experience is good. But now the student intake is more so it is like more crowded when I joined it is like a decent number of people.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is available in like different types two, three and four bedded but now new hostel blocks are built so don't know about it. Ac and Non AC are available and bathrooms are good and well maintained, hot water is also available for bathing and drinking, washing machines are available but have to pay for that seperate likewise dhobi is also available paid one. And coming to mess menu is good but few items taste good. In mess also there are different types like veg, non-veg and special. Special mess is what I prefer cause it has a few more items at breakfast and other times. Ac room fees are a little expensive.

The course is a very good and interesting one. The faculty-student ratio will be 1 faculty for every 20 students All faculties are doctorates. Terms are twice a year and are moderately difficult but their teaching is enough to clear the exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech Food Technology is one of the best courses in TNAU. There are more food industries where we see. Even though we have opportunity in abroad. Max, there are 60 members per dept and have 9 subjects each subject there are min 2 faculties. Each faculties are qualified ph.d in those subjects they take. There is a mid-semester for each semester question papers will be easy to understand and easy to get good marks.
