Remarks :

You should have secured a minimum of 75% in your class 12th/PUC or equivalent through an AICTE-approved college. There is a relaxation to 65% marks if you belong to the SC/ST category. You should clear JEE Main and then JEE Advance to get into IIT MADRAS. JEE mains happens twice a year (tentatively Jan & April). The application for it will be available on the NTA official website. After clearing the cutoff set by NTA you are eligible to write JEE Advance (tentatively in May). After clearing JEE Advance, based on your rank you will have to fill preference, then you might get allocated IITM based on your rank and availability. You can visit the official website of IITM www.iitm.ac.in to find the reservation details of each course. If your rank is very good then you will be allotted a seat in the general category no matter which category you belong to.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have a very particular keen interest in aerospace which had driven me to choose this course for my undergrad. 1:10 which is one of the best in the entire Bharat country, being a NIRF rank 1 college. The faculty here are super highly qualified, and their teaching methods are highly interactive, student-friendly, and knowledge through doubts. The term exams here are almost 1-1& half months. And they were quite moderate to people who do a regular and decent study. These exams actually test student' ability to think and their application mentality, rather than rote learning and marks mentality.

Internships Opportunities :

There will be a fair conducted each and every semester for hiring and applying for internships. Talented students often end up with good company with decent pay. You get different roles to apply like product manager, full stack developer, finance analyst, and design specialist. etc. You will get an ample amount of learning through these internships along with money. The best part is you do not need much knowledge prior.

Placement Experience :

From the 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements, Google, Microsoft, big tech companies finance companies, and startups, The average package for the year 2022 is approximately 20L/annum. And there are more than 1,500 offers made each year. Almost everyone gets placed with more or less salary. I want to either pursue higher education or join a job based on my interests at that period. But I will do what I am interested in.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Here the fees are actually based on two conditions, 1) Which category you are in and 2) how much is your family income. The tuition fee varies over 0-2Lakh/annum based on your 2 conditions. The hostel fee is fixed which is 0.7L/annum. Here there are innumerable scholarships available for worthy and talented students, which make their education journey money hassle-free. I got a campus scholarship and one alumni scholarship.

Campus Life :

Campus life is awesome, with almost some noise on campus every day. There would be many events/programs going on every day that engage students to relive from academics. Shastra, Saarang There is a big library on campus that has thousands of books to offer. Classrooms are AC equipped, but some run with fans, which are dedicated to amazing students and faculty. There is NSO, Inter IIT sports, cricket ground, football ground, badminton grounds, and basketball courts. Etc. Media club, programming club, envisage aero club, design VFX, Finance club, I bot club.

Hostel Facilities :

Fan, cot, desk, chair, lan with unlimited internet, cupboards, light, washing machines in a hostel, badminton courts, GYM, TV rooms. In hostel. The food quality is good here there is a different menu each day which cycles once every 2 weeks. After your allocation to college, the IITM itself sends you the official communication for the hostel registration process which is a simple and fast process that is done during the admission.

Placement Experience:

There are placements for the students passing out but the jobs usually don't pay more than 15000 per month on average. The placements are not always equal to all departments like food technology department gets the most placements and biotechnology and other departments almost get no placements. The new management is doing a lot to improve the placement program.
