JIPMER M.Sc. Nursing Admissions 2023 are going to begin soon. The selection to the course is done on the basis of how the candidates perform for the entrance exam set by the college. JIPMER college offers M.Sc in Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences. The course work for M.Sc. is divided into 4 semesters, lasting for 2 years. The college provides students with practical training as well as theoretical studies.

• JIPMER college offers a total of 25 seats for the M.Sc. program. 
• The courses offered are in two specializations with 10 different disciplines. 
• The two course specializations offered are: Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences.
• M.Sc. Nursing disciplines are: Community Health Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing. M.Sc. Allied Medical Sciences disciplines are Medical Biochemistry, MLT- Microbiology, MLT-Pathology, Medical Physiology, and Biostatistics. 

The basic eligibility to the course is for candidates to have passed their undergraduate in B.Sc. with a minimum requirement. Admissions to the M.Sc the course at JIPMER college is done online through the college admission portal which is available on the official website.

JIPMER M.Sc Eligibility

For admission to M.Sc. Nursing, applicants must:

• Have passed B.Sc. Nursing of this Institute or other equivalent University.
• Have registered with the State Registration Council of Nursing and Midwifery.
• Have B.Sc. Nursing graduation and one year of experience in a hospital or college after registration with the State Nursing Council.
• Have a minimum of one year of work experience prior or after post-basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Have passed any other course recommended by Indian Nursing Council, in case of male candidates. Male applicants who studied Midwifery only are eligible for admission to Branch II and V.
• Be medically fit.

For admission to M.Sc. Allied Medical Sciences, applicants must be qualified in a 3-year B.Sc. Degree program from a recognized University and with specializations in:

• For M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry Biochemistry/Chemistry as their major with Biology/Botany/Zoology as their minor subject OR must have a B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

OR

• For M.Sc. MLT Microbiology, Microbiology/Biotechnology as their major with Biology/Botany/Zoology as their minor subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

OR

• For M.Sc. MLT Pathology, Medical Lab Technology/Biotechnology as their major with Biology/Botany/Zoology as their minor subject OR B.Sc. Zoology

OR

• For M.Sc. Medical, Physiology Physiology/Biotechnology as their major with Biology/Botany/Zoology as their minor subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

• For M.Sc. Biostatistics (Medical Biometrics), Statistics/Mathematical Science with Statistics or an examination accepted by the institute as equivalent

JIPMER M.Sc Admission Guidelines

Admission to JIPMER College, Pondicherry is done through online mode only. During the admission process, the applicants must keep checking the website to make sure they don’t miss the admission dates.

How to Apply?

• Applicants must first visit the college website and click on “Apply on-line” link.
• Applicant must then register themselves into the portal and create an account
• They must then add their personal and academic details.
• Applicants should also upload scanned copies of their supporting documents when required.
• Applicants must then select their choice of course and click on apply.
• They will be asked to sit for an entrance exam. The dates will be provided on the website.
• After the entrance exam, the applicants will be selected based on the merit list. Three merit lists will be uploaded to the college website, which the candidates must keep a close watch on.
• Selected candidates can find out about their admissions on the college website.
• After selection, candidates will be called for counseling. The counseling lists are released on the college website.

JIPMER M.Sc Course Details

The M.Sc. program at JIPMER College offers two specializations, i.e. Nursing & Allied Medical Sciences, with a total of 10 disciplines.
