OR ii) Bachelor Degree in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized university / Institute with CIT/CIC/ACISE/ CISE from IGNOU or a Certificate in Computer Science/ Computer Application from a Govt. recognized institute with a minimum duration of 6 months or studied Computer Course as a part of the curriculum in Bachelor/PG Degree. OR iii) Bachelor Degree in any discipline or its equivalent from the recognized university/ institute with 1 year working experience in Computer Application/ IT

Course Details

Registration fee of Rs 300/- (Non-refundable) is to be paid at the time of admission in addition to the program fee.

IGNOU PGDIS admission 2024 for the January session has been started from December 15, 2023. The last date to apply is January 31, 2024 (Tentative). IGNOU offers Post Graduate Diploma in Information Security (PGDIS) for a duration of one year. The minimum requirement to become eligible for the IGNOU PGDIS Admission is an Under Graduation from any recognized University. However, students are selected based on merit in their qualifying examination.

IGNOU PGDIS Eligibility Criteria

Students seeking admission in PGDIS at IGNOU must qualify in the following eligibility criteria:

Candidate must be a Graduate in B.Sc or BCA or BTech (Computer Science) or IT or it’s equivalent.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or a certificate in Computer Science or Computer Applications with a duration of six months from a recognized University.
Students with a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with one-year of working experience in Computer Applications/IT from a recognized University are also eligible.

IGNOU PGDIS Course Details

The syllabus and scheme of examination for the PGDIS program is based on the credit system. The course work is extended for one year that is for two semesters. The program spreads awareness of information security and protection. Personal data and inbuilt infrastructure data of all companies must be secured and protected for many reasons. And for this professional ethics and skills can be imparted to the students with the courses.

Each credit course is allocated with three hours of teaching.
Students must earn 32 credits within the period of 1 to 3 years in order to get the degree.
Students must earn 18 credits within six months in order to finish the Advanced Certificate in Information Security(ACISE) by passing all courses.
Assignments and end-term examinations are conducted constantly in order to test the knowledge of the students and analyze them for awarding the degree.

Non Submission of Assignment

The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

Ques. Is there an Entrance exam conducted by the college?

Ans. No, there is no entrance exam conducted by the college. The applicant’s further will be shortlisted based on the merit in the qualifying examination. The minimum eligibility for the students is a Bachelor’s degree and they are even selected based on merit.

Ques. Should I visit the campus to apply for admission?

Ans. No, students need not visit the college. The Candidates seeking admission can apply through online mode by filling the application form followed by payment. Even offline Procedure for application is also available. But the students need not visit the college. Instead, you can visit the nearest regional center of IGNOU and download the application form. Later on, you can fill in the details correctly and submit them back at the center.

Ques. What is the percentage to be maintained in order to get the degree?

Ans. A minimum of 50% must be scored by the students from the first semester to have an overall good percentage. It is mandatory for the students to pass in all the subjects with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
