JMI MSc Biotechnology Admissions 2023-24 is ongoing. The last date of admission is October 10, 2023. Also, applications for M.Sc Biotechnology admission 2023 based on GAT-B are open till October 09. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the official website @jmicoe.in.

To be eligible for admission, candidates need to submit their application form through online mode on the official website of JMI at jmicoe.in. The admission window is open for candidates with a BPharm, BSc or equivalent degree in the required field with 50% marks.

JMI MSc Admission Process

Candidates are selected based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam conducted by JMI. Admission to MSc disaster management and climate sustainability studies will be based on CUET PG or GAT-B scores.

• The admission process is conducted in two stages: Candidate’s registration and Entrance Application Submission.
• Candidates need to pass the qualifying examination required to sit in the JMI Entrance Exam.
• Candidates need to register themselves by providing the necessary information required.
• Upon successful registration, a unique code is sent to the linked email address to verify the email account.
• Candidates can fill out the Entrance application form by using their login credentials and pay the application fee as per the program.

• Entrance test- The syllabi for Entrance Tests along with the structure of the question paper and other necessary details are available on the university’s official website. 
• Conduct of interview- Candidate must have more than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the Entrance Test for interview/admission.

JMI M.Sc Course Details

The course duration of the M.Sc is for two years and comprises 4 respective semesters. The various specialisations offered by JMI under the M.Sc program are tabulated below:

The M.Sc program is offered as per the Choice Based Credit System(CBCS). Papers are classified into Core, Elective and ability enhancement. Practicals are taken up by the students every semester according to the course outline. In all semesters, core papers have 3 credit scores, consisting of the University exams and internal assessment. During the first semester, practicals carry one credit and in the last two semesters, it weighs 4 credits. The project work was essentially carried out in the last semester.

Along with it, students need to maintain their 75% attendance both in practicals as well as lectures to be elected into the terminal examination. Internal Assessment is carried out based on the class tests, presentations and other modes of assessing the students.

JMI M.Sc Placements

JMI has a Placement Cell working to provide job and internship opportunities to the students. Under the M.Sc program, placement is available only for a few specialisations. The branches available for on-campus placements under the M.Sc program are in the fields of Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biosciences, Biochemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geography. The average package offered to the M.Sc graduates is INR 3-4 LPA. The job offers for M.Sc graduates were only 4 in number. The top recruiters include Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Adobe Systems, Saurav Beverages Ltd., Best Book Buddies Technology Ltd. etc.
