The placements at Nirma University for B. Tech (CE) are quite great. The university can be your gateway to accessing companies like Microsoft. However, securing a good placement also depends a lot on your skills too.

The highest CTC offered is INR 16.2 lakhs per annum with an average salary of INR 4.5 lakhs per annum and a low of INR 2.7 to 3 lakhs per annum. Overall, the placements are quite good at Nirma University for CE.

CSE at IIIT Vadodara is definitely a better option than CSE at Nirma University.

• Nirma University offers Computer Engineering while IIT Vadodara offers CSE which draws a fine line of difference for the CSE aspirants.
• IIIT Vadodara provides a distinguished course and curriculum. Students in other colleges are exposed only to mainstream engineering subjects. In contrast to them, IIIT Vadodara is parallel to that of IIIT-H, offering core courses from the beginning of the first year itself.
• IIIT-V provides students with an exceptional background in coding which is not likely presented at Nirma. Students take part in competitive coding on sites such as HackerRank, CodeChef, etc. Each year several students get selected for GSoC from IIIT-V.
• The faculty here is highly qualified with most of the professors holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes. They are cooperative and provide proper guidance to the students. Daiict is the mentor institute of IIIT Vadodara. Many faculties pay their visit from Daiict.
• The placement opportunities are decent at IIIT-V. Students get internship opportunities from Atos, TCS, etc.
• In spite of not owning a permanent campus, the facilities provided at IIIT-V are satisfactory. The basic requirements such as proper AC labs and classrooms are fulfilled here.
• IIIT-V is known for conducting regular technical workshops.
• The hostel facilities at IIIT-V are better in comparison to other colleges.
• More importance is given to academics due to which co-curricular activities are few.

The ‘IIIT’ tag has influence therefore opting for IIIT Vadodara would be better than opting for Nirma University.

Whether Nirma University will be a good option or not depends on what other options you have.

If you are not getting admission at DAIICT (at ICT with CS) or SVNIT, particularly if you are from Gujarat, then you can certainly go for Nirma. These colleges are a tier above Nirma. DAIICT offers an average package of around 12 LPA.

However, Nirma University also offers a decent CSE program. Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by the institute.

So, there are better options than Nirma for a CSE course, however, if you are not getting admission at these institutes, Nirma will be a good alternative.

Based on my friend's input on the academic environment and the placement records, my suggestion would be to go for CSE from Nirma University. You should not miss this opportunity as you would witness that it makes a lot of difference when you end up opting for CSE than ECE.

I would not recommend you to go for NIT Silchar, as their placement record and academics is not that appealing. It is also one of the lower-ranked NITs of India, so try to not opt for it. People are aware of the fact that any lower NIT is not that fulfilling and does not match the standards of the other NITs established already.

Because of all of these factors, my friend ended up leaving NIT Silchar and got into Nirma University which is much better.

Therefore, be careful while you make your decision as this will shape your future. So choose wisely before making any decision.
